nice vid, do you know how to get it working in ES-DE? I got it working in retroarch itself, set the Alternative Emulator to fake-08 but it doesn't load them
I did everything like you said but it didn't work. I manually installed the fake8 core, but when I try to open a pico8 cart, retroarch only allows me to use the retro8 core... What did I miss? 😢
Hello! In which folder should the Fake8 lib be added? Today I have an RG CUBE, the retroarch that came installed on it does not show the CORES folder, and the system folder is blank with nothing in it... Could you help me?
Very cool! It's good to see someone point out that you actually CAN play pico-8 on android, despite what people say. Do you notice any significant downside to playing on the retroarch core instead of a true version of pico-8?
I haven't experienced any issues yet. I have this set up on all of my android handhelds, it works flawlessly fine. But I can only get it works on Retroarch 64bit, which could be a downside if someone needs to use other versions of retroarch. Though i think most of the people are fine with this 🙂
You can edit the platform (there's a little pen icon on each platform page) Press the pen icon for edit, then scroll down to player settings Choose 117 pico retroarch 64 fake08 arm64 and save the settings
Wow! I've been trying to run pico8 on my android box for months, didn't know about turning off image viewer, thanks to your video. You're so awesome!
Nice, love having multiple options to play pico-8 on Android =D Thanks for sharing, friend~!

You have to change the core association to fake8

You can find where the cores are installed in the settings->directory of retroarch. They may have installed a modified version of retroarch
Fake8 sucks, there is no easy way to run Pico8 on Android because it hasn't been built by the developer
