- I needed a Coolant Overflow Tank, now we have one! :)
Tank is Stainless Steel, 13 inches tall, comes with mounting hardware, generic brand purchased on Ebay.
The car is a 1966 Mustang Fastback with a factory V8 and C4 transmission.
Shot with GoPro Hero 8 with the Media Mod, edited on Davinci Resolve 17.

Awsome ,such a beautiful mustang
Thank you!!
Been watching your videos for a few weeks just got a 66 gt fastback and your videos are so helpful keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Thank you sir for a great video installing one myself thanks again
No problem 👍
When a cap gets weak this can also happen. I installed one of those tanks when I changed over to an Aluminum radiator. They work well 👍
I was thinking about that and almost talked about the importance of a properly working rad cap. Oh well, next time. :)
I just strapped a beer can to the side of my radiator hahaha
I've done that too!!!
Don't tempt me! :)
Great vid. I’ve gotta go this with mine before I throw it down the quarter
Thanks!
This is a relatively cheap addition, I like stuff like that. :)
Nice job. Looks good. But if you ever wanted to add a knee knocker air conditioning, the tank is in the way of the holes for the condenser.
Thanks for the tip
What are the measurements between each hole where you installed the screws to hold it
Sorry Boss, I don't recall. :)
Good project. I haven't installed one in my car yet. If you ever take it to the drag strip it is required in the rules.
Cool, now you've got more content for your channel!
Overflow outlet height should be same height as radiator cap inlet. That way you can monitor radiator coolant levels hot or cold, top off as needed.
Thanks for the heads up.
@@AndyKruseChannel I just recently installed one like yours, but have done a few now. I was told this by a radiator / cooling specialist.
Does having the tank lower then the highest point on the radiator pose any potential issues? Was thinking of installing one on my radiator since I was pissin coolant in a parking lot the other day after getting pretty hot. I just don’t know if it would be worth it or if it would be a waste of time, I mean, coolant that spits into the reservoir can’t get sucked back into the radiator can it? I dunno
Basically what I think I am getting at is if it overflows into the overflow tank… what’s the difference of just letting it flow to the ground if you ran a hose lower so not to get it all in the engine bay
The tank easily be below the radiator as it's a vacuum created by low pressure in the radiator (from the temperature decreasing after the engine has been off for a while) that draws the coolant back in. It's not a waste of time, it's a worth while addition to your motor. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel Fantastic, that makes sense. Maybe I can get mine installed today! Thanks!
Now that you have a closed coolant system, did you change your radiator cap style?
Good question, I don't know if a different cap style would be required for the low pressure in the system to pull coolant back in. But considering how tall the inlet tube is inside the reservoir, my system won't be pulling any coolant back anytime soon. :)
Hey Andy went with the same unit, decent quality. Have you had any luck with an upgrade on the wiper system? My 67 convertible has an extremely slow wiper speed and it would be great if there is anything better available. Thanks for your time and have a great day.
That's great to hear you're happy with the new overflow tank.
I have not messed with the any of the wiper system. This is mostly because I don't take the car out in bad weather, so I never need my wipers. If I ever dig into it, I'll definitely put together a video. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel I appreciate it, I never try to get mine out in bad weather either but have been caught away from home and the original system is..... well not that good.
What size is that coolant overflow hose ?
I think it's 1/4" hose. :)
Proper fill level in radiator?
Sorry boss, I don't understand the question.
You should get a better fan & a shroud
I did, a few weeks ago. :)
