Sorry to hear about your misfortune! Life/the universe is weird like that huh. When things go wrong it tends to happen in a cluster. Although on the flipside it can sometimes happen with good things.
All you can do is not dwell on it too much and focus on what you can control.
True. In the end I got to practice or acquire a new skill which I usually like. Breaking into a car (my own) is now part of the list.

Lol yeah. Well I would hope to put that skill to good use only. Getting my own car back or in a post apocalyptic scenario where no one misses their car. Definitely makes you feel like a thief even though it's your own car you trying to unlock.
Well here’s what some people do to prevent that from happening: have a duplicate key made and put it in a magnetic key box, and then hide it under your car where you can access it easily in an emergency. Could be a good way of avoiding a policeman detaining you and finding some reason to arrest you,
What I was thinking as well with the magnet. Fortunately I managed to get into my car eventually with no cops or expenses for a locksmith but prefer not having to do it again. Especially on a highly populated road. 😬
