(I'm an android - Samsung Galaxy guy) Did you have have to purchase the Apple Car Play / Android auto option to be able to use apps such as Google Maps, RUclips, etc. I see you have Spotify, Waze, and other apps on your home screen. Do you need this option to be able to download/use those apps? 2. To stream internet stuff such as youtube videos or other things, do you have your smartphone broadcasting a wifi hotspot? How are you streaming internet services on this Phoenix screen? 3. In order to use the apps you installed, do you need your smartphone physically plugged in? Or is the Phoenix screen a standalone "tablet" and all you need to do is broadcast a wife hotspot from your smartphone for it to operate without having to be plugged into your smartphone? 4. Looking back at your order for this Phoenix screen, what options did you purchase? Are there any options that you wish you would have bought? Any options you probably could have been happy with not purchasing? Thanks!!
The only option I purchased was the android auto/iPhone carplay option. You have to be plugged in to use them unless you get the wireless android auto option instead. I actually havnt used that and only use my Samsung Hotspot and the pheonix system runs just like any stand alone tablet. So just login to your Google account and have the Hotspot and you are good to go.

Yes everything works and the rear/mirror defrosters work. That button is now digital. Yeah the only extra thing I purchased was the wireless carplay but I just use Hotspot and the apps on the unit from the play store. 360 camera will work and that plug is included in the wire harness.

I've been in extreme cold and havnt seen any issues with it. Can't speak to your winters though. A good place to check and search is in the tesla style screen titan group on Facebook! Great info on there about all issues. I've had it for a year so far and it's still awesome 👌
I have a 2017 Texas Titan. I assume the setup is pretty much the same. My one question is does this have built in gps nav or do you have to use google maps with a hotspot? I'm not a huge fan of the nissan factory units but the built in nav is nice. also does this have SiriusXM built in? I installed a similar unit (maybe a slower model) in my 2016 RAM. It was a pretty easy set up (almost plug and play). Is this an easy install or better off getting a stereo shop to do it?. Thanks for your reply.
It does come with a Nav but most people change it like I did to WAZE. You only need a hotspot to download the app and for live traffic updates while using it, otherwise it works well offline. You could download Google Maps and Im sure that works offline as well. No Serious XM is not installed. But you can download the App and use that with a Hotspot or just bluetooth it from your phone. Also, you can by wireless Apple carplay or Andriod auto when you purchase. It is completely plug and play. I always had shops install my head units, however this was super easy for my first time doing it. Any questions that come up are already answered in Facebook's Nissan Titan Tesla screen group, so join that!. Did you lose sound quality having the RF built in amp disconnected? I have been trying to get Phoenix to verify if you will lose the sub like many other aftermarket HU’s
Looks great! One complaint I've heard is that the HVAC controls reset when you turn off the truck and you have to reset at every startup. Do you have that issue?

No one on RUclips has, and since it's my most commonly used app, I can't justify buying something like this unless I know it works. Yes..there are extra wires that don't plug in..make sure u plug into the bkack micro SD and the brown on is a left open..thats the only way the original USB will work

Did you follow the RUclips video step by step. To make sure ac control unit stays installed? I also plugged in one of the yellow cables to the yellow plug and they didn't work. I switched to the other included yellow cable and they worked
@@joshfulghum2420 I did follow the videos. I have the one factory AC cable that doesn't seem to fit on the provided harness or directly behind the screen. I'm not sure what's going on.

There's only about 2 plugs not used. They all plug into the harness provided so excess isn't an issue. Definitely NO dash rattle.

Yeah ive seen the negatives. The latest version Fast boot 9 has done me good so far. No issues yet. Everything still seems to be working as it should.

My other video I am using waze. You can set up Google maps to your nav button. I have used Google maps and it works well

Not really sure what the CAN system is. But everything works like factory

2017. No cd player but you can run a cd player off a usb or hdmi into the back of the unit
