Is engine braking a thing in motocross? I come from a sport bike background so I don't know. Also, do you have a quickshifter on these bikes or is that not allowed?
They quite often use engine braking when coming into turns while also using the front and rear brake and the shift down without using the clutch. These ktms also come with a quick shifter which this guy may be using but a lot of the pro riders keep the throttle pined an then pull the clutch to get the upshift in without letting off the throttle. Not great for the clutch but they replace the clutch plate frequently so they can really get away with abusing them to go faster
I have a 2024 ktm and on the track I don’t wanna hold it wide open on the limiter cuz I’m scared it’s gonna blow up, did yours have any issues with this riding?
hahha no man, don't be afraid, these are finely tuned race engine and the limiter is there to protect the engine. They're made to rev high and sing!
My 2015 YZ250F had 150 hours on it of pure rev limiter sand riding.
Just change your oil and air filters RELIGIOUSLY and keep it pinned man!

Why choose a 450 that's fast enough for anyone it's really quick that bike
450s are just different, sort of like riding a 125 with a 250F, have to ride them harder, keep them in the power and rev them out.
My intention isn’t to offend but you should shift up the bike more… that ain’t no 125
