I'm 99.9% sure you're giving Shalria too much credit. But during this I remembered how Doflamingo talked about the national treasure of Mariejoa that no one is supposed to know about. Since he was just a kid when his family left there doesn't seem to be an age limit for special knowledge.
@gowthamanshanmugam732 he specifically said he needs laws fruit for it to be useful to him. oda wouldn't be keeping it a secret still if it were the strawhat.
I am pretty sure if Chalria were to look for info int would be in setting of her getting curious and demanding to know just because she shouldn't be devoid of her right to get anything he wants... Not because she would get curious and studious...
20:14 A hand emerges from the darkness as Sharlia is pouring over the true history. It rests gently on her shoulder as a voice cuts through the black. Sharlia is paralyzed. Not by Haki, not by some power… but by sheer murderous intent. “Now now, Saint Sharlia. This is no place for you. Who knows what devils lurk down here. So vile and sinful, they could even taint a god.”
It'd be cool for Oda to depict some Celestial Dragons questioning their ways, with all of the recent upheavals, it may force some of them to think harder than they'd ever had to before.
Regarding the God's Knights: they were introduced as and shown to be the capital punishment for CD on CD crime. It is illegal for anyone to harm a CD, and the Marines enforce that around the world. When a CD hurts another, however, the God's Knights are the only people given the licence to carry out the most extreme condition to the most absolute law of the world.
When I first saw that panel I had 2 distinct reactions, the one you talk about here about how they might not be taught openly about the void century but my other thought was maybe they just learn the entire true history from start to finish and they just didn’t even know it was this like huge deal to everyone because to them it’s just any other hundred years or something
Poor Little Timmy, he just wanted to know about void century, but tragically disappeared the next day. And then new substitute teacher with cool hat and a pigeon announces summer break early.
@@dudeistpreist5721 Agreed, it could draw attention to what they are trying to hide. I recall one movie where the main conflict occurred when the main protagonists caught a low-ranking member of a criminal organization. The boss was unconcerned until they realized that the prisoner was alive (not being willing to confess to murder and be executed for his honesty) and would talk under interrogation. So, the boss locked down the area and sent every member of their group to kill the protagonists (and or their prisoner) going to great lengths to do so. One of the protagonists eventually felt that the lengths meant to kill them were far too much and concluded that if they had executed their prisoner then the boss would have let them leave without incident. He stated that the boss was afraid of what the prisoner might reveal and that got him curious as to what would be worth all this trouble. In the end, the boss's efforts to stop information getting out ended up destroying everything they built, it would have been better for them to use the time to clear out.
Currently the only way I see the Gods Knights working without contradicting anything is if they ONLY act AGAINST other Celestial Dragons, policing their own is their sole job
Well I don't think any other Celestial Dragons have been harmed at Mary Geoise have they? Both Fisher Tiger's raid and The Revolutionaries raids didn't harm anyone, they were SPECIFICALLY to free slaves. Maybe the God's knights only act to protect CD's, not slaves. That could even be why both of those raids specifically never harmed anyone, so the god's knights wouldn't mobilize.

I think the reason Mjosgard was executed was not merely because he attacked Charlos but mostly because of WHY he attacked Charlos. A Celestial dragon attacking another celestial dragon FOR THE SAKE OF A COMMONER AND A MERE "FISH!" (their words not mine) I think that was the most scandalous part of the attack for the majority of the CD's
That does seem plausible, the one who executed him stated that gods who choose chose to protect trash became worth even less than trash. He seemed to justify his reasoning by stating that by choosing to protect a commoner, Mjosgard had made himself even less than a commoner.

Agreed, they seem to be the kind of people who don't care too much about the exact specifics of how they gained their power and authority, only that they have it.
I'm still of the mindset that we don't need some complex explanation (even though we'll probably get one). It already makes perfect sense given the structure of the world government that they would just tell the celestial dragons a fake history to prop them up as superiors. Having a fake history taught to them makes more sense than teaching any of them that a gap in history exists.
If Celestial Dragons don't learn about all that secret stuff at a young age, how did Doflamingo find out? Bc he left Marijois as a child (and later became a pirate), so how would he have gotten valuable information about the secrets of Marijois, etc.?
They probably just don't call it The Void Century. They probably call the Age of Unification or The Century of War or The Great Rising or something like that
Remember that Donflamingo knows some secrets of Mary Geoise. So obviously the celestial dragons get some knowledge. I think the ‘void century’ is off limits, but perhaps the celestial dragons get a slightly different ‘true history of the world’ that acknowledges *some* of the void century while skipping things like Imu and Joy Boy
I was always thinking: are the servants of Im just regular guys who are really good at keeping their mouths shut? Or maybe that's what a celestial dragon becomes if they want to learn about the void century, but suck at combat.
Knowledge of the void century might be limited to Imu, the 5 elders, the gods knights, and the heads of the families. Honestly, the knowledge of Imu's existence might be limited to the 5 elders, the gods knights, and the heads of the families. And Imu of course, they know of themselves.

@thymasta2 I believe you're right. I also believe it absolutely happened in real life, multiple times - and is happening now. As for the CDs, Rayleigh already told us that the One Piece and the Void Century is a matter of subjective perspective. That's why it's been so important for the kids to have their own adventures instead of taking Zeff's logbook or Rayleigh's knowledge of what it is.
Ok... crazy idea. What if Celestial dragons are re-educated hostages Im, who were persuaded not to flood the world 1000 years ago and the world government technically still is the ancient kingdom. It would make sense from Imus perspective to make them horrible people, because if they wanted actually make world better place none would stay behind them. This would be comparable to what Saturn done to Kuma....
The younger gen, who have been raised believing they are entitled to everything, possibly being hidden from the truth by the older gen of Celestial Dragon, might actually create a very interesting internal conflict for Marijoa
Your comment about whether or not the gods knights were added last minute really makes me want a book about the making of One Piece once it's finished. I really want to know how many things were foreshadowed so far in advance. How many things were truly Oda setting something up or was Oda taking a one-off thing and turning it into something bigger?
If something happens with Shalria it will probably involve the Gods Knights in some manner, just with how story telling works. With how the Celestial Dragons lives work they seem to just actively pursue whatever their desires are, which probably started with lots of smart and able nobles studying and making things that has eventually degenerated into the hedonistic blob they are today. It would be crazy if Shalria is the island princess for Mariejoi, if she does survive that long.
i just had an idea, since it seems that the tenryuubito are oblivious and generally stupid, IF the devil fruit tree, that a bunch of people theorize is in Imu's garden, exists, COULD IT BE that the greedy and incessant desires of the celestial dragons are being "harvested" to create devil fruits? And they are given boundless freedom (at the cost of others) to feed their endless hunger for MORE AND MORE AND MORE?
An interesting thing about Kuma's attack on marijoa is that it is after the god's knights were introduced, and when introduced discussing the revolutionary army's attack, it's to get it done before the knights show up. So it is interesting, they do get involved, it's not that they simply relegate the job to the admirals to protect the celestial dragons, they seem to take time before taking action, perhaps they don't live differently from the other celestial dragons and thus need to ready themselves when a threat appears in the holy land, maybe most of them are dependant on equipment to fight the strongest oponents.
Missed that one i've been on my holiday and spend some time in London. Was't foggy i got lucky and the weather was nice for the whole two weeks, imagine that. I Have been there countless times and England, Welsh, Scotland all those countries are beautiful.
Doffy pretty much told us this during marine ford where two kids would have different issues like a poor kid being hungry C's a rich One ferri a doll. The celestial dragons are basically that and I doubt they'd care to learn inst of just have fun
I believe that vast majority of Celestial Dragons are truly just hedonistic idiots who don't know anything, but there's a tiny fraction of them who are actually running things and their job is to keep the other CDs happy. That fraction includes the Gorosei, the God Knights, and Imu.
I seriously doubt that any of the regular celestial dragons know about the void century due to the fact ones like mjosgard and homing exist. Imagine if someone like mjosgard were to just go to Morgan’s and tell him
They are probably fed a “your family’s gained their Devine rights to rule over the lowers” or something to that effect and it gets left there as they would have to question it further more so knowing of the very few families that had left and were shown to be “miserable” afterwards. As we got to see with Doffy as a prime example being vastly upset by his families departure, with even those few that question beyond could have been sent to a reeducation style camp, killed or even banished and left to live like a peasant
Shalria goes to the basement, looks at the giant straw hat in the freezer and finally connects the dots: "Waiiiiiit a minute! I have more questions!!!"
I think all of the Tenryūbito know the events, but it is so common knowledge that none of them would see it as a void century, because they know everything that happened, but don't know that everybody else doesn't know, or why knowing is important.
I would love to see the celestial dragons history as they have it, and if she looks for it we can see more of there system and how thing are run upstairs
I would think the Celestial Dragons are like the upper class of other dystopian societies like the Hunger Games. The people of the capitol don’t think about the society they live in beyond the Games as entertainment, because a people that don’t think aren’t a threat. So I think the Celestial Dragons get a bare minimum of schooling and just live hedonistic lives. This is probably the first time Shalria has ever heard of this.
If Celestial dragons wanting to learn about the void century is what makes you them god's knight it would make for a great origin for the group and Shalria could be used as a way to flash them out like maybe one is in charge of teaching her, one in training her and so on
Kinda annoys me how like tekking just build his fanbase without any gimmicks and people like Grandlinereview do the most cringe things for subs and IT WORKS. Tekking never tells anyone to subscribe or comment just a wholesome dude. Def appreciate you and your content keep it up
i’ve always theorized sharlia would end up a “nice” or at the very least a less evil celestial dragon. any celestial dragon that looks like a normal person rather than a deformed person usually has something important going on with their character.
knowing that doflamingo and rosinante do have some knowledge about the national treasure and the will of D, and i think rosinante told that he was told by some elders, but it seems like doflamingo knew more about that stuff than his brother (he was just aware about the will of D, he didn’t really know what that actually means), i guess it’s only known by some celestial dragons, or probably just the elders, and like they wanted to kill doflamingo because he knew more than he needed to know
What if they don't know about the void century because they ARE taught about it but are simply unaware that commoners are not. and whatever they learned in it could be a factor that contributes to their behavior.
What if Imu wants The Celestial Dragons docile? Imu wants them to be their puppets? Imu probably doesn't even care about them. Imu probably only aligned with them to takeover the world. The Five Elder Stars and The God Knights can feel the sameway.
I'd like to point out that the reason everybody's favorite underwater species wasn't allowed to come to the surface was because a certain slave that had escaped the holly land returned and wrecked havoc in said holly land... now, I'm not saying Fisher Tiger was a cypherpol agent, but what happened when he returned might have been carefully orchestrated to make it politacally unpalatable for the fishmen's request to be granted. An excuse that couldn't be dismissed.
The God Knighs are probably Imu's personal body guards? Also dies Imu have a family? Do they have kids or siblings? Maybe that women that was talking with Imu is their sister or daughter? The God Knights only roll is to protect Imu at any and all cost.
Talking about Sharlia learning more about the history gave me an idea for a theory I had about the end of Egghead. So, I think that Saturn is going to die at the end of egghead, but not by anyone on the island (currently). I think Imu is going to end him for essentially being the cause of this "Vegapunk problem" (since Saturn would have been in charge of overseeing him). This would then lead to there only being 4 elder stars and that can't be, so what if Imu then recruits curious Sharlia. Something like "Now you know the truth, will you let those inferior people dethrone us or will you join me?" Could even turn into a fun twist where she becomes a pseudo alley that helps the strawhats, cause really outside of Luffy I don't see how they can handle 6 people of that level.
How I took the scene was that they simply don’t know the term „void century“, since they know about the history of the world and therefore don’t need the term of void century, since to them it’s not void, it’s just the century
I think the Gods Knights main purpose was to serve as body guards for whenever the celestial dragons leave in mass. For example God Valley. as of right now that was the only time we seen the dragons outside marejois in large quantities, normaly its only like 1 or 2 families at a time. As for why theyre not showing up to fight aganist any of the invaders is becuase much like the rest of the celsetials, they see themselves as gods. they simply dont see the revolutionaries, fisher tiger, or kuma as big enough threats to be graced with their prescence. Maybe its related to bounty, like "Only warriors with a bounty of 1 billion or more may cross swords with us, anything less can be left for the pets (marines and admirals.)"

Have fun on you're trip
I wonder would the next chapter will go into a flashback
Missed that one i've been on my holiday and spend some time in London. Was't foggy i got lucky and the weather was nice for the whole two weeks, imagine that. I Have been there countless times and England, Welsh, Scotland all those countries are beautiful.
Doffy pretty much told us this during marine ford where two kids would have different issues like a poor kid being hungry C's a rich One ferri a doll.
The celestial dragons are basically that and I doubt they'd care to learn inst of just have fun
"Ur wondering in places even God's needs to fear" bars 🔥
Happy for you to be exploring a new country !!!
I believe that vast majority of Celestial Dragons are truly just hedonistic idiots who don't know anything, but there's a tiny fraction of them who are actually running things and their job is to keep the other CDs happy. That fraction includes the Gorosei, the God Knights, and Imu.
Tekking hope you have an amazing trip, you're an amazing content creator.
Tekking we need a special London story time video
"Does he know?"
- Riddler (Paul Dano), captioned
Shalria goes to the basement, looks at the giant straw hat in the freezer and finally connects the dots: "Waiiiiiit a minute! I have more questions!!!"
“Do They Know?” is Hilarious, New Meme Unlocked!
The study of the Void Century to the Cipher Pol is like the study of aliens to the FBI
I haven't read One Piece since Chapter 1106... I can't wait to get back into it and catch up on your discussion videos!
A Shalria cover story would be awesome
I think all of the Tenryūbito know the events, but it is so common knowledge that none of them would see it as a void century, because they know everything that happened, but don't know that everybody else doesn't know, or why knowing is important.
I mean hey, if Oda wants to do evil-good switch for any of the rich pos, he got one right there
I would love to see the celestial dragons history as they have it, and if she looks for it we can see more of there system and how thing are run upstairs
I was previously thinking London Ontario but nope
If Celestial dragons wanting to learn about the void century is what makes you them god's knight it would make for a great origin for the group and Shalria could be used as a way to flash them out like maybe one is in charge of teaching her, one in training her and so on
Kinda annoys me how like tekking just build his fanbase without any gimmicks and people like Grandlinereview do the most cringe things for subs and IT WORKS. Tekking never tells anyone to subscribe or comment just a wholesome dude. Def appreciate you and your content keep it up
Tekking get a cuppa when your there for all of us and post it I guess idk
Have fun in London!
Homing knew about the world flooding and told his children (doffy, corazón) which is why he wanted to live in the blue sea before it came to pass
I'm going Comic Con, hopfully get to see you there
i’ve always theorized sharlia would end up a “nice” or at the very least a less evil celestial dragon. any celestial dragon that looks like a normal person rather than a deformed person usually has something important going on with their character.
I don’t think they don’t know, well not everything, but they are taught something in that time frame
Oda's St. Carlos. If Carlos is in the chapter, not only will he get hurt, but something important is about to happen.
The pecking order goes: Imu, the Gorosei, the God's Knights, Celestial Dragons, Nobility, the working trash, rebellious trash, fish.
Shit theeeeen. I'm gonna be there Friday, I'm gonna be looking for you and ask for a picture
knowing that doflamingo and rosinante do have some knowledge about the national treasure and the will of D, and i think rosinante told that he was told by some elders, but it seems like doflamingo knew more about that stuff than his brother (he was just aware about the will of D, he didn’t really know what that actually means), i guess it’s only known by some celestial dragons, or probably just the elders, and like they wanted to kill doflamingo because he knew more than he needed to know
Oda's insistence on beauty equaling good/ugly equaling evil needs to be explored. Mainly because beauty is subjective.
20:00 I'm getting goosebumps right now lmao
The tenryuubito are based on the anglo-saxons, the Void Century is based on the Black Legend, and the Ancient Kingdom is based on the Hispanic Empire.
Some of these issues have been so common and are still present today, there might not actually be a single inspiration.
Would love to go to London to see yall😂, maybe next time if it happens again
Yeah I was wondering the same thing during the chapter, they must be just as oblivious as the rest of the world
How I took the scene was that they simply don’t know the term „void century“, since they know about the history of the world and therefore don’t need the term of void century, since to them it’s not void, it’s just the century
I booked my tickets for MCM before watching this video for saturday 😭
