      First of all I would like to be one of the many to thank Elon Musk for his leadership, determination and all of his efforts of helping humanity clean up our environment with sustainable energy programs. Also with his commitment of SpaceX to allow the exploration of space for future colonization. Our world is a fragile place that currently holds all of humanities eggs in one basket. By spreading our wings and being able to leave our nest we will ensure that human consciousness will live on outside of our planet. I was asked by a very wise man in the early 2000s, if I had millions of dollars to help humanity, what would the most important innovations be in business for all of humanity? I knew that the petroleum industries were polluting our air water and food to the point that people were getting sick and dying of diseases, from those major fossil fuel pollutants. As we talked further and further about electric vehicles, transportation, solar power and other sustainable energies. He said, "I think you're right and it should be done!" He as well had been pondering that question. Trying to be thorough though, he asked if anything else should be focused on for all of humanity? I said, "Yes and in case of a global disaster whether it be climatic, an asteroid strike or another WORLD WAR, I suggest that space exploration and colonization also be considered to prevent the collapse of human consciousness as we know it!" Thinking back all of those years almost seems like a deja vu to where we are today. Again I can't think of anyone else but Elon that would put all of their FORTUNE on the line for the best of humanity. With his consistant focus and extremely innovative leadership, he is leading the world out of darkness and into the light of the rest of our universe. So much yet to learn and do but thanks to the lead of people like Elon we can be stepping in the right direction. We all have more in us to offer the rest of the world. So let's do it! This is the time and we are the people that will change the world! For those of you who like these ideas or have some of your own to offer, please let me know. I appreciate all of you and your comments. Let's shoot for the Moon and Mars then we will end up amongst the Stars!

      @@mr.mysteriousyt6118 It’s true that it won’t have as much lift capability but if the engineers get their math right (which I’m 100% certain they will) then it shouldn’t matter. The gravity of Mars is only a little about 1/3 that of Earth’s and the moon’s gravity as you might know is 1/6 that of Earth’s. This means that it will take less fuel to get the rocket off the ground and escape the celestial’s gravity but will still have the same efficiency there as it would on Earth.

    • @robertmiller9735
      @robertmiller9735 3 года назад +1

      It's going to be multiple years before they get permission to launch people in a vehicle with no escape systems: many, many successful launches will be required. Though of course a crew could be delivered to a Starship in Earth orbit via Dragon (and after production of SLS rockets stops, that will be needed for further access to the Moon). For returning, a Dragon could be sent to the Moon as cargo in a Starship. I'd be shocked if the ability to survive an Apollo-style reentry isn't built into the Dragon design.
      Obviously the last trick won't work to return people from Mars, oh well.

    No more fiber cables or cell towers - about that fiber optics can deliver data in a much efficient way at way more rate than star link, and cell towers will always be better cuz of the distance and availability. I like star link but the advantages of other points must be considered.

    Starlink is a total game-changer. Traditional ISPs will not be able to compete in rural areas: huge infrastructure requirements for low population density and project-crippling regional bureaucracy which takes months or even years to get anything approved.

    In my opinion either if SpaceX or Blue Origin maxes a step forward we as humans are the actual winners. If one company figures out something maybe that can lead us to reach Mars or go even further.

    Any engineer at the top of their game would be faced with the easiest decision of their life in choosing between Space X and Blue Origin. Space X appears to be at least a decade or more ahead of any competitors at this stage.

    When has space travel not been cool? As for sending humans up into space, I'd rather see adjectives like 'safe' 'thoroughly tested' 'well-proven' 'reliable' instead of 'cool' or 'insane' or 'game-changing'.

    Don't kid yourself. Those small 8 ft. square box house containers are meant for Mars. As to the Falcon 9, I don't think that it is such a small rocket. It has created a massive change in the rocket industry.
