TETR.IO Quickplay - Pre-update 15 Revives (Korean VC)

- pre-update was slightly harder because early floor targeting was broken
there's obviously large room for improvement but pre-update required a lot of grinding as well
last tier missions seems to take more time but less risky
color clear generally takes the longest time but it can be very fast depend on luck or stacking
sans : somehow we got to call send mission as 'sans', because it's arguably the hardest mission (pre-update), conditionally an impossible mission
cold clear : acronyms for color clear and cold clear are similar so I mix them up (콜(kol)클 and 컬(kʌl)클)
my favorite QP2 player (ty for eng subs)
Don't remember if you're still on the game design team or how much input you've had on this update but when I first tried the duo mode, I was like "I really hope they flesh this 'quest' idea out in a solo gamemode," cuz it could give rise to more innovative gameplay like what riviclia's doing here. Anyhow, quick play 2 is great. Thanks!

So by extension, I was also the one who came up with duo's mechanics and created each of the revive tasks. One of the issues with porting them to a singleplayer mode is that many of the prompts play into the pressure and risk of also being attacked while trying to clear them. Take for example "Clear 10 lines without clearing with T or I pieces", which under no pressure is extremely easy but introduces very interesting risk/reward when you're getting bombarded with clean garbage. You'll see situations where players try to burst it out, reach safety first, get halfway through and then back down because the garbage quad is too tempting, mess up their stack and die for it, etc. Things like "Have a part of your stack in the top 3 board rows for 3 seconds" and "Place 3 pieces in a row without moving or rotating" can also fall into this category.
I still do think that a singleplayer mode where you can express your knowledge and skill in doing weird setups/tech could be valuable, but it's not as easy as porting what QP2 has into it's own gamemode.

So this means that I was also the one who designed Duo's mechanics and made each of the revive tasks. The problem with porting the tasks over to a singleplayer mode is that many of them incorporate elements of risk/reward that require the constant pressure of the tower to become interesting. For example, let's take "Clear 10 lines without clearing with T or I pieces". This task is very easy on it's own, but when being bombarded with clean garbage, the decision-making and how players approach it become much more dynamic. Do they burst for it? Try to reach safety first? Get halfway through and get scared into breaking? Greed and die trying? These are all questions that don't really exist outside of the context of the tower. There are many other tasks like this such as "Place 3 pieces without moving or rotating" and "Have a part of your board in the top 3 board rows for 3 seconds".
This isn't to say that I dislike the idea of a singleplayer mode for expressing your knowledge/skill around weird tech and tricky requests. In fact, this has been very highly requested as early as amongst the playtesters who were first trying out Duo mode. However, it wouldn't be as simple as taking the revive tasks and building on them.
(also glad you've been enjoying this mode! QP2 is only the beginning and there will be more cool updates coming in the future)
