I have an increasing belief that Tony Khan needs a PR team and needs to run everything through them before opening his mouth. smh
Needs some media training forsure
Snowman needs to lower his dose
As someone with no real knowledge of AEW or Tony Khan, I feel like Tony's comments ring a bit hollow. If Vince was still in WWE and his crew was running the show, it would make sense, but now it just feels edgy and petty
I wish WWE would use the old royal rumble lottery tumbler thing to randomize draft picks. It adds intrigue. It seems to clean presentation wise.
AEW Pepsi?….Phil? PUNK! I knew he wasn’t over it! 😂
That's what I heard too. It was a Punk pot shot.
From a business perspective, the lowest hanging fruit for aew in terms of potential new viewers are folks who already watch wwe and have already bought into pro wrestling. Now you’re telling these folks that they enjoy partaking in the “Harvey Weinstein of wrestling?” You think that’s gonna make get them to watch your show?
Tony Khan's awkward rant should've been interrupted by superkicks before it got as bad as it was.
Using the soda analogy think it’s more WWE is Coke and Pepsi, NXT is like caffeine free Coke, AEW is A&W root beer (technically in the same business but not really) and TNA is like RC. Where you’re just surprised it’s still around.
TNA is RC Cola is the truest statement I have ever seen. Lol
Research Chemicals?
Wait but you guys were already getting scoops from Triple HHH?
Haven’t heard from him in awhile, is he to busy or elite for you guys now?
The NFL Network guys kept talking about it when Jacksonville was making a pick.
About the draft, the "planning for the future" idea doesn't make much sense. Sure, Smackdown execs could believe Carmelo is a future champion, but what's stopping RAW from taking him next year? Realistically they should only be planning for what gives them the best ratings for the next 12 months.
A man who has a business relationship by choice with Ric Flair in 2024 shouldn’t be talking about accusations similar to those against Weinstein.
Wasn’t ric flair employed by wwe after he did the literal assault? Isn’t ric a hall of famer? Weird take.
@@vincentpesce8449yes...so it doesn't make aew any better..i think that was the point
I can name more current Nascar drivers than Steve & Larson combined lol
I believe Baron Corbin actually wore a wolf head thing in NXT recently.
What I didn’t understand is how a company that’s losing money is successful.
"You're not a serious person" lmao
The WWE Draft needs to be only for NXT call ups & wrestlers moving brands...if they're going to be staying in current brand, there's no need for them to be named
Tony Khan makes it so difficult to like AEW
That’s why have never from day 1
Jericho was recently accused of sexual harassment?? I know it's not as extreme as Vince ish but?! The power dynamics are the same.
I thought Tony Kahn was a coke guy
They need to change the way the draft works for sure
It use to be so exciting to watch those episodes
Now I'm trying to figure out if they are moving or staying because I can't figure out who's in what brand anymore 😵💫
Catching strays as a Suns fan 3 minutes from the end of the stream 😭
Tony Khan went full WCW
My biggest gripe about Smackdown this past Friday was this:
Cody: Congrats AJ! You fought hard in that mini tournament and earned a shot at my title at the PLE!
Carmelo: Hey man, I know it's like my first night and all, but can I skip the line here?
Cody: Sure kid, why not?
I mean, WWE would actually be doing themselves a favor if they just start referring to these Cody matches of the week as non-title bouts. That way, you're not compromising the narrative integrity of the main angle you're setting up AND you create a modicum of doubt about the outcome of the night's match. Maybe Carmelo could pin Cody and earn himself a real shot down the road. Non-title matches don't eliminate stakes, they create the opportunity to broaden the narrative.
Cody's gonna buy AEW
WWE should go back to using trademarked music...hearing themes like Rhea Ripley, Sheamus, CM Punk, Triple H, Randy Orton is just so much better
One day Cody will have to feud with a young up and comer that has never met Dusty Rhodes and they will have no idea what to do.
Furry Corbin xD
TK is his own worst enemy
"AEW ia the Pepsi of wrestling" CM Punk AEW return confirmed???
Maybe Tony kahn likes coke too much to make that comparison 😉😉😉
Clearly they should go Full Michael J Fox in Teen Wolf 🐺 with Baron ! All Wolf ! All the time !
Tony Khan wants to act like the progressive Booker but he literally still has Jericho as a prominent superstar and has maybe 1 women’s match a show
He couldn't say coke?
Less tony khan better aew! 😂
Man the Friday draft was boring as hell and pointless. Almost nothing changed. 👎👎
Sorry but I disagree, why would you draft Carmello over Seth? Sure Carmello could be the future but he isnt right now. From a GM perspective you 100% would go Seth over him lol
Or it doesn't matter really
Normally I’d agree with you, but why would anyone pick the man whose body is completely banged up and will likely be out of action until after SummerSlam?
So we just got the tag titles separated and don't have many teams and we're just now filling up the tag division and you want diy to break up ? Makes zero sense to me
Main eventing multiple manias? Carmelo Hayes? WTF?? Did I miss something with him? He's a poor mans Ricochet. Never cut a memorable promo.
Melo doesn’t miss, but you sure did with this take.
What makes me most angry about this is that it seems people online are more verbally outraged by what he said then they are by what Vince McMahon is accused of doing. I'm sorry. How is wrong to point out the mainstream company your competing against is accused of being complicit in these kinds of things? I agree maybe the timing was a poor choice and there was a better forum to do this, but i find no issue with the comparison especially considering how many people around the Hollywood scumbag were empowering him.
I understand that the people who work for him as talent didn't really have a choice, so yes the wrestlers are not at fault but the "Company" aka the executives and yes men, which i believe is what TK ks refering to, is at fault. When you empower a guy like Vince to do what he did you share some level of responsibility, or at least complacency. We have not seen accountability in a way that matters because it got sweeped under the mainstream rug when The Rock came in. If WWE were open and transparent about their responsibility in the matter I'd feel different, but this "Name Redacted", or "pretend Vince McMahon doesn't exist anymore" stuff is not taking responsibility.
Every knows you can’t point out wwe was run by a sex abuser, is currently headed by weinsteins fixer at CAA, and just partnered with a Japanese promotion run by a guy asuka hates and seemingly likes his female wrestlers young and single. Let’s not forget why AEW has the Owen hart cup….
Dude I get it and personally think Vince should be put away and they can lose the key. However TK is not some virtuous little guy fighting for the good of mankind. He's a billionaire business owner trivializing an incredibly serious tramatic event to PROMOTE HIS COMPANY. To get more viewers and make money. He didn't do any of this out of virtue or because he's just some wonderful nice guy. He is doing faux moral grandstanding to promote his show. That's gross and pathetic and should be called out. Everything shouldn't be a "whataboutism." Bad people, and bad things should be called out period. He never said Vince or executives. He clearly implied that WWE is filled with sex criminals up and down the company. It's a lame and disgusting promotion tactic, borne from a petulant rich kid not getting what he wants. For your own good don't hold these people above yourself, they ain't righteous they are just trying to get attention to make money.
