Thank you so much. As I scanned over the shelves with my camera, I realized that there are more books I have not read right there in a row in the Proust section than anywhere else on the shelves. I bought the boxed set, but I think all the other Proust books came from the same Little Free Library over the past few years. I am thinking I will get started possibly in late December or in January. How lovely it has been to get to follow the start of your Proust journey!

I somehow missed this video when you originally posted it. All these years I thought that the seemingly well organized material on the shelves behind you were either academic or medical journals. What a surprise!

@@HannahsBooks To be honest, I haven't much been in the headspace for knitting or quilting, my other crafty hobby, lately. I have dived in deeply to reading and I don't much like audiobooks. One of my favorite things to knit is either Fair Isle or lace. My last project was an Alice Starmore design "Elephants" that I made a throw pillow out of. I don't have much practical use for lace but I loved the Swallowtail shawl pattern and gave that to my Grandma. :) Maybe you sharing some of your knitting will give me the urge to make something. Just wish I had 4 hands instead of 2 so I could multitask.

One of my old students (from a Southern Literature class I taught for high school students one summer) lived in Senegal when he was 17 and apprenticed himself to a book binder there. He came home with a copy of the paperback Flannery O'Connor complete stories rebound with a lovely leather casement. One of my favorite books.

That was wonderful. Thanks for the intimate look. (I shudder at the thought of my own "reveal"). Your books are so organized! I don't know if you've ever discussed it before, but I see you have the same set of Proust as I do. I've never heard you speak about Proust before, so I'd love to her about it in a video. Ha! Your reveal might be a lot more fun that mine! I just mentioned in response to another comment that as I filmed, that group of Proust really stuck out as the longest stretch of books where I have not read a single one. I am thinking that I might read the first volume in December or January, depending on how things are going. Thanks for the compliment about my hair. I think even when it was long, it was a lot easier to take care of than your hairdos--but it is spectacularly easy now.

Hannah, I cannot describe the utter chaos that created in every single nook and cranny-and we have lots of those. I still have three rooms to CLEAN thoroughly. I was also having my kitchen and sunroom remodeled. I just couldn’t seem to read. That is so so unlike me. But I turned to knitting and that seemed to soothe the stress. I am currently knitting a baby sweater for my son-in-law’s niece who is expecting. I’m also working on my first top down sweater, actually my first real sweater, for me.
