This guy was the soundtrack of my teen years. Legend for sure. He spoke from the heart here and the interviewer did a great job with the flow of the questions.
By listening to this interview it take to memory lane and make me wonder how the hell general degree never made it to any of the major labels with such a vast catalog.
Absolute legend. Degree was so good at making every verse of a song important. Often the third verse was the hardest. many artists done one or two verses and then repeat. But when I’m a jugglin riddim mix I always have to play out a degree tune in full. big ups to the man….. the legend
Humble calf gets the most milk and the general really humble one of the baddest lyrically out of the 90s n still one of most relevant in this time bless up Mr degree
General Degree is classic. His first daughter, K.Butt, and I were classmates. Degree, you remember when you used to sit down on the red fire hydrant right up at Miss monica shop? I used to pass there as a child and hear you a dj. Do you remember Wayne that died in 95? Him never buss but used to sing like Garnet Silk too.
Big up degree you cannot talk bout 90s dancehall and don't mention this veteran ,he did lots of production with some of the biggest 90s producers such as dave and tony kelly, penthouse, steely & cleevie, mainstreet, shocking vibes, bobby digital just to name a,few and still going strong today putting out music
yeah steelie and cleavy is the pioneers when it comes to using digital drum machines back then. they did create the drum pattern that created reggaeton and dembow genre of music and afro beats too. 100%
