    Heidi, I had this happen to me. The stylist sent me home without telling me my hair was broken off in the back. It has been a journey, I used K18, Olaplex and coconut oil, stopped using hot tools and baby my hair for a year. It was tough but we will be on this journey with you. I know you will teach us how to get through this with the style and grace. Your videos are always a learning experience.

      I had similar and I ended up cutting it all off into a pixie cut, growing it out and also using Olaplex, various hair oils like Kerastase and Argan oil, and immersed bought K18 when it was released. It took ages. My hair is still so short, like a boyish bob, but I used to have nice long shiny black hair. My graduation photo on my wall has me with that long shiny hair and I look at and thing, it will probably take a years to grow it back to that.

    Hello again…just another thought…having been a salon owner I definitely would have offered you free conditioning treatments for a full year if someone in my salon had done that damage to your hair !! You have every right to ask for this !! They are lucky you aren’t suing them ! There’s no reason you should have to spend your money on treatments for the damage they caused !! Also closely monitor what type of conditioning treatment they are using and how they are performing the service and definitely speak up if you don’t like or feel comfortable with something !! Dear Heidi, I am extremely sorry that this has happened to you. This video gave me bad anxiety and I can only imagine how this situation must make you feel. As a guy with long hair who is also really really attached to his hair as it is sort of a part of me and my personality I can totally relate that this feels much worse than people who say stuff like "it will grow back, its just hair" will ever be able to realize.
    You and Abbey Young gave me so many tips and I've changed my hair care routine because of your advices and it made my hair twice as full again and I was able to get some babylights. Thank you so much for this. My heart goes out to you and I hope that your hair will be fine again soon. Lots of love and greetings from Germany.

But I am confident that things will get better and better every day.

However my hairdresser didn't say anything was wrong and went ahead and blow dried and flat ironed my damaged hair! When I got home I saw little pieces just falling off like confetti. I was so traumatized. I used Olaplex too and found it did little. Bought K 18 and it seemed to help somewhat. I also used hair masks. It is just now beginning to feel somewhat better. My hair was also damaged from color lighter brown. The stylist said she needs to leave it on for a much extra time because I have curly hair so it won’t absorb the color in the normal time. She didn’t do a test strip, she just put lighter brown and my hair became so fried, and it looked almost blond at the end. Her eyes were huge when she saw how light it was, she said she didn’t realize leaving it on for too long would make it so light and thin. No bleach, just color, and it went pretty straight, like damaged straw hair. Luckily, LUCKILY, I only wanted the ends of my hair lighter brown, to look like sun-kissed at the ends. The ends looked so bad, too light, damaged. I trimmed the ends off by myself and never dyed it again. I’ve done Henna dyes before on my own and they are more subtle and not as strong of a color, only visible in the direct sunlight, but my hair was always healthy after it. But now I don’t do any color, and only blow dry medium WITH a blow dry protectant cream. And tons of leave in conditioner every day twice a day.
      I wish you the best of luck getting your hair healthy and strong and happy again!

      Initially, the top of my head was soooo hot. It seemed like I had fever or something. It is because the hair temperature goes up (when overexposed to bleach) and hence the hair is literally burning off. Cold water really helps with that. Keeps the temperature low and stops further damage. I have also noticed it helps me with my frizz. I used other products for the right ph later.

In fact, you don't want your hair to sit wet or blowdry on cold for a super long time. Better to blowdry with a bit of heat to dry the hair, then leave it to dry the rest of the way. I think there is a study that has shown this to be effective as well. My thoughts are with you. Thanks for sharing - I did this to myself years ago. I am so sorry this happened to you. I know exactly how you feel as the same happened to me just over a year ago - thankfully however it was on the back section of my hair where she used a stronger developer. As you, I take great pride in my hair so it was very difficult to deal with. One year on, I feel better about my hair but… i have major trust issues with hairdressers these days.

    • @heidiguttenberg
      @heidiguttenberg  Год назад

      Thank you so much for sharing this with me ♥️ The trust issue is a real thing 😬 My roots are growing and on one hand I am happy on the other I dread that I’m running out of time to decide on what to do. What did you do?

    • @relarras
      @relarras Год назад +1

      @Heidi I just waited it out! What else can we do. First months were so difficult as my short stubby hair was just sticking up and I looked ridiculous! I just sucked it up. Once it grows a little, you can stick them down with some hair spray. And now after a year the short hair are 12 cm or so long so they blend in well enough… it’s not fun…
      FYI i am a regular olaplex user and my hairdresser also used olaplex and did the treatment as always. But there is only so much olaplex can do.. there is no real way to reverse that kind of damage tbh.

    Two years ago I had thick waist length hair and suddenly decided to cut it into a Bob. Just weeks after that I was involved in a serious burning accident and lost a lot of my hair fortunately not up to my scalp. 18 months later I still have portions of hair at the top looking like badly chopped layers. Most of the hair is growing except for those very top, outside parts. I can't afford fancy products so for me it's all about techniques and methods. I can't wait to see my hair thick, glossy and waist length again, but I know that if I had not cut it short my entire head would have burned.

I have heavily highlighted fragile long hair. It dries your hair without heat plates and without using a brush on already fragile wet hair. It leaves hair dry and straight in just minutes. I let my hair air dry for about 1 hour and then use it. I think that it works best when hair is not soaking wet. ❤❤❤❤❤

I decided not to go to my regular hairdresser because she was on vacation and I wanted some beachy waves. She decided to leave my hair wet and as I was driving home, I could see me turning into an Afro. Literally my heart went in my mouth as yours probably did too. I get home and I call her and she said she doesn’t know what happened. She use the gentlest formula but that’s not what my hair was saying. I cried and cried didn’t know what to do. They said to wash your hair when you have a perm and it will come out but it didn’t. Even using a flat iron wasn’t doing the trick. It was actually making it worse. We’re here for you! Lately I’ve been using the hair density in my scalp from the Ordinary and it seems to help with a lot of hair growth. Also, you might wanna try mix in a little bit of castor oil with the coconut oil. Castor oil really helps with strengthening the hair and regrowth. Sending you big big hugs!🤗🤗🤗

Another products that helped to avoid the gum sensation were Alfaparf blue and cells of argan oil together with the restructuring liquid, that was magic. But I insist, K18 is the solution for burned and broken bleach hair.

    Thank you, thank you for this video. I went trough this about a week ago and I have a very long hair like you. It wasn't that much fried but it was extremely dry. I didn't want to wash it with shampoo so soon as I usually do it every 6 to 8 days, so I applied 2 hair masks one after another for probably 30 mins each. Then I applied ampules for damage hair and then leave-in conditioner. It felt much softer, the ends were still breaking, but much, much less. After 2 days I applied Olaplex 3 for about 40 mins, then mask for another 15, then again ampules for damage hair and then leave-in conditioner. All products I use are for professional use. So far my hair looks much more hydrated and I think maybe I saved it. The hairdresser did it very patchy also but I think for now I will have to leave it as it is to save my hair. And this is a hairdresser I use for a decay now. She didn't even apology - she was very fast to finish me and I was kind of wondering what is going on. I saw it when I went home as I couldn't believe after all those years and monthly visits (as I need my regrowth dyed) she can do such a thing. I understand it can go wrong but I deserve at least and apology.
    Thank you again for this video, I definitely will watch it a few times to try to save my hair also and not to need to cut it shorter.
