👌🏼👌🏼😂😭
Omg the flannel! The hats! The toothpick!! 😂❤
“Little white Michelle Williams “ gets me every time!! 😂😂
This is a beautful movie! As a straight ally, I think well done movies like this that aren't preachy are so important to carving a path for queer cinema to enter the mainstream. Ang Lee did a great job! His "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" and "Eat Drink Man Woman" are great too.
Life of Pi too. How to make That book into a great movie. Oscar all the way.
I would love to see you guys review My own Private Idaho. I voted for that one, but great livestream!
Me too! Loved this one. My Own Private Idaho is real favorite of mine and seeing (or hearing ) a review of it by you guys would be so awesome!
Anne Hathaway’s character DEFINITELY knew what was up with her husband Jack. Speaking as a woman, we ALWAYS know. Her character gave me denial vibes. She was very flashy and needed to keep up a facade with her community. Her explanation sounded rehearsed, something she had repeated multiple times before when people inquired on how Jack passed.
how do you know? give me some tips! These days my gaydar isn't working as well and I end up missing a lot of opportunities.
@@MidsummerNightScream I mean each situation is different. Speaking for myself I have strong discernment skills. I can always tell if someone is withholding information. Plus everyone has a pattern, once that pattern is disturbed something is up.
Regarding the characters in the movie, Jack was brazen. That man would have left his wife at the drop of a dime if Ennis would have given in and told him to come. Plus Lureen’s daddy knew what was up, I bet there were whispers around town but the family was prominent so everyone appeased them. JMO.
@@mellowyellow403hat's why Lureen's dad tried to defy his own daughter and Jack by turning the TV back on and telling Jack that a "real" man watches football.
I love when you read each other! The expressions are priceless.
This takes me back to the good old days when my husband used to take me to see every movie i wanted to see. He saw so so many horror movies and sappy love stories. It's an amazing movie.
I really enjoyed the Ana Faris performance. I also enjoyed Hathaway’s coldness in that Mary Tyler Moore in Ordinary People type of way.
“Husbands don’t never seem to want to dance with their wives.”
This was a very dark story, but also incredibly relatable for the fears of gays in 2005 especially in middle America. The fear of being hated versus tolerated only because you're closeted was and likely is still deep. Especially since Desantis became Governor of Florida.
There was also a huge contrast with their economic status. One was dirt poor and the other married into money . This made it it very difficult for the poor one to get away often while the other one could afford it as well as trips to go meet other men in Mexico.
The hats & shirts!!! 😂😂😂 Does the cat get one too? i missed the live, but thank you. You're the best.
Edit: I found you guys initially reviewing The Green Knight. I'm so happy that your fan base has grown. There are a lot of nice people and comments that follow your videos. Charisma for days. 🥰
I’m so with Joseph on the camping thing. Uuugh! And I agree with Nick that the mini rant on adult conversation was not unnecessary. Love you guys so so much!❤️
Those hats are so cute guys and this Livestream was awesome it's always a pleasure to get to interact with both of you and hear your feelings about opinions on things! thanks 🥰
Lmfaooooooo the second you guys showed up with these get-ups... 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I died laughing. Deceased. Will yall be attending my funeral?
Will there be refreshments?
@fishjellyfilmreviews Duhhhh. Baked beans okay?
Same!!!
The way this turned into a full hotdog discussion that kept resurfacing every few minutes 😂 yet I was so engaged in Joseph’s opinions
I live in California and for the Mexicans/Latinos in this area camping is not fun. Many of us come from families that have done farm labor. We do not think that purposely going into nature an exposing ourselves to it is not fun. It’s a reminder of our days working in agriculture!! Just a little cultural lesson. : )
Once again, thank you so much for such a great live. Have a nice Saturday, guys.
Absolutely ❤
I can not share enough how much joy your reviews and banter bring to my life.
Thank You
❤️
Gay romantic connections are like any other romantic connections. I'm not gay and I can relate. True love is so hard to find. love is love.
I think that Lureen knew what happened to Jack but came up with a story to protect Ennis because she also knew that he was Jack's lover.
I love you guys more every time I watch!!
As for this film, I, simultaneously, loved and was devastated by it. I’ve watched it countless times but it’s been a few years. I related hard. To Ennis. (Even though my situation was completely different, I could feel his pain and loss.) I think this film is beautiful, poetic, tragic and so too is life.
But then again, I lean depressed, so idk.♥️
😂😂😂 "A HORSE WILL STOMP YOU THE HELL OUTTTTT !!" 😉👏
Lets be clear.. Nick is right: Ennis wanted to come inside the tent. Lol. All that signifying and teeth chatteering, boy stop all that racket and get in this tent!😂
Joseph’s description of the hypothetical circumstances that would be necessary for him to be on a horse is exactly something I would say. It cracked me up. Plus the follow up about not trusting cats so not trusting horses follows. 😂😂😂 I am the same!
The reviewer who said you both are the best. You really are. My dad and my grandma who have passed away, loved movies and we talked about movies, directors. You both are very in depth, go into histories. Thank you for your excellent work 💕❤️💕
I hope I add this on correctly, my grandma used to live next door to the old movie studios and famous actors always walked by and some hung out, my dad grew up literally with the movie set as his backyard.
*It's AWESOME reviews like this, that make me want to go see👁️👁️the film again!* 🎬
So glad I made a live. It has been forever and y'all are always so electric and funny and informative as usual. Its just so easy and natural with you two. Joseph is so expressive with his mannerisms. Nick's nonverbals are all through his eyes. Those eyes go to work, chile. Cracks me up cuz I'm Joseph is how I am in terms of being very expressive and my partner is very Nick. Subdued but the eyes are always the tell.
This film made me emotional when I saw it as a teen. I also think that A. Hathaway's character knew how her husband died. She wasn't as naive as White Michelle Williams character was.
Enjoyed your review, the hats and the live today :)
I remember seeing BBM at the time at the cinema, and I really enjoyed it. Tragic characters. Awful time in the world for these characters to live in 😢
I thought Heath did a great job as an American cowboy with that gravelly voice being that he was Australian, and only in his mid 20's. 😮
He was in a few indie Australian films that are worth seeing, particuarly "Candy" ( though it is a bit heavy).
** I think that "Pricilla queen of the desert" is worth a review for Pride month! 🎉❤**
😀🤠So, the way you described 'camping' had me 🙄and 😄agreeing ! Because the idea behind camping being 'silly' was relayed in this way - made a lot of sense! I would want to know for sure what the insects are like at night too! Made me think of a popular tour of a cave, which apparently has the ground covered with bat dung - which thousands of roaches feed off...horrors! 🤣So, enjoyed your comments on the outdoors!
Great movie, way better than Crash, but, for me too, I was missing that big tear up scene.
You guys are such fun.
My Own Private Idaho is really amazing. Can we have a review of that one still??
Omg when the video starts 😂❤👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😂😭🔥🔥
My Beautiful Launderette would’ve been a good addition to the options list. Daniel Day Lewis is the best
That's a good movie.
Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm is beautiful, highly recommend giving it a watch!
I always assumed Jack was wearing the shirt, etc, when he was beaten to death.
I agree with Nick. I think it was when they got in the fight, yet made up, because Ennis was upset… imo.💙
the tragic ripple effects of people not being able to be themselves
lol, I grew up in the country (rural Virginia). I agree with y'all, I want a hotel room & stuff to do when I vacation. I'm not a huge camper either. lol
Um I don’t know I think you both hot with the hats ❤❤❤❤☺️
You two are so cute together! I am like Joseph, I will remember some good food if nothing else. Well wishes to you both!
Awe man! Nick was just in Tucson but hopes to never go back. That's where I live. 😅
I love this movie. . The cinematography and musical score was wonderful. Heath Ledger was a fantastic actor. That he played such a shut off character and turned around and played the Joker was remarkable.
I had some great elote earlier today…at the Food Truck Extravaganza in Lake Elmo…$4…
I agree with the conversation around consent and a pay wall. This will decrease problematic people being hateful to you on your page, if you decide to broaden to more explicit talk in response to some of these requests.
The company black forest has a line of gummy bears called juicy bears made with real fruit juice.
Really guys-you are both such city boys. This love affair has been played out thousands of times through the centuries in the old west. By the way, sheep and cattle are allowed to graze on lush government land during the summer. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rules public forest land.
You have to understand the culture of the rural west to fully appreciate.
I begin to tear up at the beginning when the first two guitar licks are played. I saw this 5 times and it had very deep impact.
That’s all.
Tom Bourland
I Remember I cried a lot when I watched this movie 😥😃
OMG those Looks! Private Idaho is the best! Can't stand William Hurt in Spiderwoman.
I will say this was a good movie, but what I couldn't understand is what made Health Leger's character turn gay that night on the mountain? Regardless it was a heavy flick with alot of issues in it. My favorite scene is Jake Gyllenhaal's father in law challenging him about the television set.
I watched this and made a new joke.
What did the Gay Cowboy say to his old Mac?
"I wish I knew how to force quit you."
Yes!
My grandpa was an extra in the movie
I appreciated God's Own Country, which was similar to Brokeback, because it didn't treat the sex scenes coyly. It had a more honest approach to the subject.
I don't understand why they never went fishing.
Can you please review Parting Glances!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
A duck to water😂
What about watching the 2017 film “A Fantastic Woman “ with Daniela Vega?
♥️ ♥️
Omg I love this movie I have that damn plaid button up shirt and when I wear it I always say I wish I could quit you!
Love it!🤠🤠❤
😅 I don't understand sheep either
😅 OMG it's implied. 💧
He's a grown man who's obviously been with his wife so it doesn't have to be explicitly told to us. obviously, the fact that he did that shows he knew what he was doing, and it was showing us the audience it was not his 1st. Rodeo, so to speak, lol.
*Referring to minute marker 35:37
Well, he wasn’t married yet and he could’ve used saliva to ‘stem his own rose’, so to say…
I do not think he had been with another man, but that is just my opinion. Jack Twist definitely had, imo.💙
10 Things I Hate About You is one of my favourites
I like Brokeback Mountain, the almost indie simplicity of the story really influenced my film taste in adulthood; when I was young I felt it was interesting to see a portrayal of a "stoic" and inwardly tortured gay person, because the media had only showed me the "proud", excited and loving-life type (and I know now that part of me was like, I can't be gay because I'm not like *that*... but spoiler alert, I was a sad angry gay and a trans woman)
I think the story is definitely made to tug at the heartstrings of straight people, with the "homewrecker" and "bury your gays" trope on full display, and yet it was formative to me and managed to speak to my closeted ass in spite of those things
in particular, I think it was an excellent look at how society can force us into the closet to pursue "traditional" family life, causing pain and heartache for all involved when it all inevitably crumbles
Actually, neither of the two men were forced to do anything. They could have remained single. Ledger used his wife to work out his inner turmoil. His wife was his victim. Gyllenhaal used his wife for money and position. She was his victim. Yes, I understand the men couldn't be out and proud, they also weren't forced to marry. Single people existed. They would have been able to be together more if they stopped pretending with the women.
44:00 Jane WHO????? 😩😩😩🤭
You do not mess with animals of any kind. Not a horse, cat, insect, etc. They have self defense that can really hurt humans. It’s not their fault, its nature.
Very cute cowboy outfits 🤠
My own private Idaho and call me by your name are both miles above brokeback mountain 🏔️
