What a wonderful video! Thankyou all very much for your hard work to bring it to the world. I live in Australia and have had the privilege and pleasure of visiting Salt Lake three times. These visits cemented my testimony of the gospel, and of the wonderful early church members and their devotion to God, and their strength of conviction. I've recently found out that one of my ancestors crossed the Plains with the pioneers, about which I'm both proud and humbled to know. I take my hat off to the pioneers for enduring everything they endured in order to do their part in making the desert blossom as the rose. 🇺🇲😊❤🇦🇺
Lorraine Barrett I understand how you feel when you visit Salt Lake City and it strengthens your conviction. No more or less when a Catholic visits Vatican City in Rome or the pilgrimage to Mecca, all get the same feelings as you do, and that doesn't make it true:? I often wondered why didn't God ask Joseph Smith when He appeared to him, to remove his shoes like God asked Moses to do, the reason being God's presents was there, and that made the ground Holy, if you understand what I mean. Remember what Jesus said would happen in the last days, there would be false Christs and false Prophets.
@@barry9604 Thankyou, Barry, for your kind response to my comment, and for sharing your thoughts. As regards your wondering about whether Joseph Smith removed his shoes in the Grove when he knelt to pray, I can't say whether he did or didn't. I like your thinking, however; perhaps he did so out of reverence and respect when Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him, but of course we don't know. I also agree with you about visits by members of my church (The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints) to SLC being of similar importance as when Catholic people visit the Vatican and Jewish people visit Jerusalem - all revered locations. You're also quite correct that the scriptures warn us of the existence of false Christs and false doctrines in the last days: they are indeed very real, and our best defence against them is to pray with a sincere heart to be able to discern them whenever they might cross our path in life. You seem to be a good and kind gentleman, and again, I appreciate your comments. Kind regards to you.
WONDERFUL VIDEO!! Joseph Smith, such a great man Brigham Young such a great man!! God has blessed us with such great leaders it gives me faith to keep going when I know there's a purpose to it all.
Wonderful! Thank you. I live in England, but am proud of my Pioneer Families who crossed the plains, especially Jane Pattenden and Charles Tuckett. I have had the pleasure of visiting Salt Lake City and am so glad that I was able to.
There are many stories of the early Saints that had their own visions/dreams/feelings about moving to a place where they'd be safe to practice an "odd religion". The Lord shows us where we need to be, but allows us the learning steps of getting to that destination. The statement at the end of this video is EXACTLY what I needed to hear. I have had a specific dream of where I need to be, for years now. I know this dream is telling me where I need to be, and even though it's been frustrating, it's up to me to figure out how to get there and make it happen. Thank you for the motivation of this beautiful video. p.s. hats are a beautiful thing to keep that sun off ya. :)
Can you believe that we all forgot our sunhats AND sunscreen!?!? ;) We definitely learned what not to do for future videos. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and may the Lord bless you in your efforts to reach where you see yourself being!

My wife's Great-Grandmother, Ruth May Fox announced when she saw the valley for the first time, "We walked all this way for that?" Her family had traveled from England to New York, staying there for a while to earn money for the trip west. The traveled by train to St Louis, where the tracks ended. The May family bought a wagon, and went West with a farmer who had oxen to pull the wagon. Contrary to scenes from old Western movies, people did not ride in the wagons. That was just more of a load on the oxen, so everyone walked.
How long have the rails been up? I don't remember them being there 18 years ago when I came from New Orleans. Great video! Casey did you help those kids carry the gear up the hill? lol.
@@Seanyexwest Yes he was a criminal and yes he did shoot back and if I'm not mistaken killed two men in the process. Him shooting back is not why he was killed. That was self defense. I want to know why these men wanted him killed. I think it's more than him just being a criminal.
One theory is he was killed by Freemasons. prior to Joe's death he Incorporated/ copied the Freemason Temple ceremony. then used it for Mormon Temple ceremony. If you share/ tell anyone of the Freemason Temple ceremony you have to spill your blood up on the Earth (the Mormons also Incorporated the "blood atonement" into their Temple ceremony) In short the Freemasons went to spill Joseph's blood for not keeping the temple ceremony a secret. He was in jail for directing his own militia to destroy the printing press. The local newspaper discovered Joseph Smith was practicing polygamy. Joseph was marrying other men's wife in secret. He married mother-daughter tandems. He was marrying girls a little bit older than 13 years old. He had over 30 wives. As the mayor of the town and didn't want that information leaked. So not unlike a dictator he ordered the printing press to be destroyed. Then went to jail.
What are the sources that Brigham Young had a vision? I was under the impression from Brigham Young's own words that he did not have visions like Joseph Smith. I'm curious for the sources.

Back in Mormonism’s inception in the 1830s, it was possible to make very sensational-and very unsubstantiated-claims. Almost 200 years later, advances and discoveries in anthropology, linguistics, archaeology, DNA and other sciences allow for a more forensic examination of such claims. Let’s take just one-the claim that some Israelites came and settled in the Americas, and on such a scale that millions could be lost in battle. Mormons say this is historical fact-others say it’s nonsense. What do the aforementioned sciences-and common sense reveal to the objective observer, one not clouded by cognitive dissonance? We only have two options-the claim there is evidence Israelite immigrants were on this continent, or there is no such evidence. Anyone with even a cursory acquaintance with scripture knows the Israelites were an Iron Age people, had the wheel (carts, wagons, chariots), plowed with draft animals, used potter’s wheels, made and used glass, wrote in alphabetic characters, used base ten numbers, and spoke their own distinct Semitic language. A boat ride from the Middle East to the Americas would not change any of that. Yet, we find NONE of these things in the New World at that time, nothing, nada, zilch. If you got on a ship, and sailed somewhere else, how much of this would you suddenly forget? Would your DNA change on this boat trip-putting you on a completely different branch of the human family? Even when people break off from others, some things ALWAYS, ALWAYS stay the same. For instance, when America broke off from England, they went from the pound to the dollar-but you would NEVER go from a base ten numerical system to a six. . .ever. It would completely upend your mathematics, currency, calendars, and well, everything numerical. So, we are left with two possibilities: The Israelites, and the inhabitants of the Americas not only were not the same peoples-they never even met each other. Or. . . Iron Age immigrants apparently managed to somehow forget what a wheel was, how to smelt iron, use wagons and carts, plow animals, make pottery or glass, speak or write their own language-and inexplicably converted from the base ten number system-on a single boat trip. Oh, and their DNA changed-a biological impossibility. EVERYTHING ELSE about Mormonism and The Book of Mormon hinges on the claim that Israelites came to The New World in the time frame alleged by Joseph Smith. If this “historical account” is just incredibly clumsy, EASILY debunked mythology, it knocks the legs out from under ALL Mormon theology. So, the real question is: Where does this evidence point?
We have some prodestant books that document mormon beliefs but they are out of date because this religion changes their beliefs and narration and history pretty swiftly every year they do something where the truth of the matter gets obscured
