“This track is definitely the most manic on the record in regard to the overall song and chord structure. It was recorded as an instrumental originally, and just sat in my Dropbox for a while because I didn’t know how to put words to it. Sometimes the music speaks so loudly that it’s almost hard to put language over it - I think that music is a language in itself and so the words you put with it have to be symbiotic. So that song remained unfinished until I had the worst two weeks of my life where I wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating, and my mental health had just completely deteriorated. I had an increase in irrational thoughts and suicidal ideations. I was contemplating whether to take my own life, and it wasn’t until I sat down to track the vocals and heard the completed version of this song that I thought to myself, ‘Man, I’m not okay’. It took hearing that song to realise that I was in a place I neither wanted to be, nor was a safe place to be in. I am a person whose mind is not a safe place to stay in, and that’s exactly what ‘Mushroom Cloud’ is about. Sometimes seeing it written down on paper and hearing those thoughts out loud helps you realise that you need to take steps to handle things. I think a lot of songwriters are stuck on that narrative of, ‘Well I was feeling bad and then I went and recorded this song and I felt better’, but I didn’t have that. For a long time after I recorded ‘Mushroom Cloud’ I couldn’t listen to it, it would make me really upset. I’d get about three quarters of the way through it and would have to turn it off, but it’s something that I understand was a catalyst in pushing me towards ways of catharsis. It was a bit of a damaging one, but that’s what perspective is all about.” - Aaron Pauley

Rise has been bringing the FIRE lately! The recent Sevendust album, among others, was freaking amazing in my opinion(7D recorded 5 music videos for this album which has never been done by 7D!!!. I don't think their 3 previous albums had a total of 5 videos all 3 combined lol

The ending was so fucking satisfying. Most fur flat and skip right to the chorus again in a lo-fi fashion after the break down in modern metal, but they jammed and managed to give me goosebumps the entire way.
Rise records are getting some heavy shit under their belts. It's a nice change. First Chelsea Grin and now Of Mice Men are getting heavier.

mastrgamr Of Mice & Men knows what’s up tho, that’s why they’re still my favorite band today. They’ve been my favorite band ever since they released Still YDG’N as a single in 2011. I’m glad they actually give what the fans want unlike the other bands.

I miss Austin in all and I wish he was still in the band but let’s be honest, if Austin would have stayed they probably would have ended up like every other band going the BMTH route. You can tell from The Flood to Cold World that they were getting softer and softer. After Austin left that all changed changed, they got heavier and never looked back ever since. I’m glad that their staying heavy and I can’t wait for this album to drop, it’s going to be fucking sick 🤘😝🤘

Don't get me wrong Aaron's clean vocals are KILLER, his voice really is amazing but im SOOOO happy they went heavy again, the flood, and restoring force were my two favorite albums by them (even though restoring force was alittle on the light side) I have lyrics from "feels like forever" tattooed on my arms, and I won't lie when Austin left the band I was bummed that my favorite band might have been over, I still love the lyrics and what the stand for, for me, but I can't lie about feeling like I got the tattoos right before the band "died" but with these new songs, and the upcoming album, they really brought it back to something, OF MICE & MEN FOREVER 🖤🤘I knew they could do it !!
This will be the album (like most metal bands) that loses a lot of old fans but will gain much more new ones.
