. LOL I love pulling a hopper OTR just no money in it.. I hauled everything blood meal, meat and bone meal ,fish meal, DDG, bean meal, midds, rice hulls, grain, fertilizer, road salt, feed salt., cottonseed hulls, if it went on a hopper I would haul it. Nothing local because the farmers had all that sowed up. When I went to stepdeck freight I actually started to make some money. None of that washout every load or every other load. No more fighting with stuck DDG that won't come out of the trailer, midds loaded hot that won't come out etc.. You are in for an adventure pulling a welfare wagon..
I could never make money pulling a hopper. Now, maybe I've hauled livestock too long, or maybe I wasn't pulling for the right outfit. I never cared for how dirty it was either. I hope it works for you bud!
Hi is the seatbelt mount supposed to be so high? In one ton trucks and less we were told to put them in line with our ears. I suspect they'd be less uncomfortable if rigged so.
Hey brother another great video how can I get in contact with you personally I want to add a hopper bottom to my fleet but I need more understanding on it please if you don’t mind and how you like the electric tarps vs the manual ones all the ones I’m looking to buy has the electric tarps I don’t know if I want the electric ones
Running hoppers off of load boards is not near as profitable as having direct contracts. Hoppers is a real cut-thought area in trucking and it's not easy and some real crap hours and a lot of waiting. As for tarps, electric tarp is the only way I would go, just my opinion. You also need to figure out whether you are going to run local, over the road, commodity hoppers, ag hoppers, sidewall height, tandam axle, tripple axle, width, and length. The trailer size and hopper type plays a huge huge roll, but you need to know what you are primarily going to haul. My recommendation is to first look over load boards (Farm Pro and Bulk Loads) and search in your area what there are for companies that would use bulk product and figure out what you would primary haul. With hoppers weight is the name of the game.
I am running off of Farm Pro. From What I see is majority of hopper load on here are in the Midwest. For Louisiana area I cannot help you there sorry!!
I like how clean and simple your front seat is. Just a folder with paper work and that’s it.
your truck is much cleaner inside then mine rite now good video
That is a losing battle lately. It gets worse throughout the week. Thanks for watching!

I ran salt out of hutch yrs back. Up into nebraska sucked if you put mids or bone meal on after salt turns the tubs into grit safe travels
Put centrifugal balancers on it, well worth the money!
Ddg,,, I've pulled that for years, thank God no more... good luck
Thanks, it will definitely test your patients.
Couple brake checks and you can get that grain to level out to make tarping easier. Just watch your axle weights when you do it if you have gauges
New subscriber i just found your channel.

I'm just jumping around and learning for myself. And you're not wrong! 🤣
too this day I still cannot use those freaking spoons to break down tires lol at lease you can
Out of high school I worked with my dad at a repair shop for a couple years. I did a lot of truck tires.
I think many of us are in the same camp.

It's not adjustable. Drives me nuts. In the Peterbilt 579 I drove for a while it was the same way.

@ thank you so much bro yeah I’ve already got in contact with Bulkloads that’s again for the feedback 🙏🏿
Who you drive for
I have my own authority. I hired NCBS out of Marcus Iowa to dispatch for now to get a feel of how the load boards worked for hoppers.
Your dispatcher just became your CEO. Good luck. I would take the time to read the contract...seriously.
No contract. Verbal agreement. I can walk away whenever I want.
@@VanIperenTrucking Cool, I hope you can make good money with it and run the way you want.
Can you give me any good advice on brokers I want to put my hopper somewhere I can pull long runs I’m in Louisiana
