Great vid as ever Neevsie, tomorrow I am 61, and I have a Ducati V4SP @ 220+ hp, absolutely love it. There is no way on earth that I will reach that bikes limits but when the young dudes see an old guy that can hustle on when required the look on their faces are priceless. It's rather ironic you can only afford a bike like that when ur old!!!!! I have no issue riding a bike with that power and see both sides of the argument here but I bet if the young guys were offered the same bike they wouldn't say NO!!! Keep up the good work! Ray
I love seeing geezers on the nice machines. I’m somewhat approaching that segment of age myself (37 years now) but knowing my younger self I’m really glad I couldn’t afford all the performance at say 25. Youthful risk taking is quite something else.
Hi neevsey Following on from the question about 100bhp bikes, I'd like to ask what you think of what's become of the sporty middle weight sector in biking? i.e why is whats considered a middleweight now putting out similar power to a super naked from 10-15 years ago. I'm talking about bikes like the ktm 990, MT09, Street triple RS etc. what was fast then is still fast now, especially with the harsh speeding penalties and abundance of cameras on the road these days. Surely there's a market for bikes in the 70-90 hp range but built to the same standards as the faster bikes with nice adjustable suspension, top end brakes, a focused riding position and a more premium build quality. I think for most riders, especially in the u.k its all we need to have fun. My first bike was an sv650 and to this day it is still the most fun and engaging bike I've owned for backroad scratching around the fantastic scenic and twisty roads we're blessed with here in Yorkshire; you could use all of it's power and really ride it on the limit without going silly speeds. If Suzuki re-released that bike today with proper forks, a set of Brembo's and a decent shock i'd buy it without hesitation, i can't be the only one?
I'm almost 60 and have had big, powerful bikes in years gone by. I recently got a CRF 300 Rally and I love it to bits. As you get older your back isn't as supple and your strength isn't what it used to be. I prefer to enjoy the total journey now rather than blasting to somewhere in Europe and missing a lot of stuff on the way. I haven't changed since the 80s though, and still take my tent everywhere with me and absolutely refuse to use hotels.......for now anyway.😊
I think 'we' just as much as you, were the winners in that competition all those years ago! Thanks again for all that you do Mr Neeves. Armchair motorcycling just wouldnt be the same without you.
Glad to hear you like your KTM. I have a 1290 GT that I feel the same about. I think the looks of a KTM may hold back many riders from trying one. A shame really. Great, interesting content, keep at it. BTW, I'm 78 and still look forward to riding nearly daily. Just bought a Golf R, never too old you know.
Great video @Neevsey! Got back on th bike after years off last year (now 55) and went with what I "knew" - a supersports 600. Now looking at something actually useable - favourite might be a Tracer 9 GT+. Something I never thought about whilst away from bikes was how being part of a community - going to meets etc has boosted my mood. Sad that younger folks aren't getting into bikes and connecting with like minded folk 😢 Keep the content coming, with the winter almost here, we need the "fix" 😊
Hi Michael .Thanks again for another great video. Great questions from everyone too. Have to agree with you and others as far as horsepower goes .You and all of us have more go than we can ever use on the road legally these days. My Hayabusa no exception.(ridiculous really at 60 years old .lol) .Putting around in 3rd or 4th most of the time (when I actually get to ride it) just to be on throttle a bit at 40,50 and 60kms an hour. As we all know though it is more about the love of and the experience of riding our bikes more than anything. Pretty much the same for cars too. On the bike racing side of things, I appreciate that MotoGP is the pinnacle of it all and the bikes ,teams and riders are what they are and the money that goes into the whole thing etc etc. Just a bit of a shame it has become The" Ducati Cup" as we like to call it now. I feel MotoGP management should be doing everything with in its (financial?) powers to have Suzuki back on the grid and also Kawasaki and maybe BMW and MV. Must say I do love the BSB and also Moto America for being more grass roots with more manufacturers. In saying this I am looking forward to the Australian MotoGP happening this weekend. Hopefully J.Z. can give it a red hot go again. Cheers.
You got a t shirt from **passo del Muraglione! Beetween Forlì and Firenze**... Amazing!! Great road where i learned how to ride ❤❤❤❤.. So ccool that you are wearing it🎉🎉🎉🎉.. PS congrats for awesome videos.. Ciao ciao
great vid as always Neevesy , I am close to 70 and still enjoy the occasional speed run (on track only of course) but I have found that the speed is less of a desire and that the way I go through the corners is where the fun lies , i have a 2020 1290 SDR and a 2022 Yam MT-10 and while they are two different bikes to ride I do love the similarity in the cornering .
Thanks for the thoughtful response! We all change as we age, and hopefully for the better, but it can be challenging to accept that our aspirations mellow. Maybe they just change direction. ✌
I agree with you Neevesy about the amount of content for motogp, I subscribed for 5 years or so to BT to catch all the qualifying and practice so on, but eventually realized I was spending too many weekends on the sofa instead of riding my own KTM SDR. Big up to your missus for sitting on the back across Europe. Mine occassionaly manages a blast to Box Hill, about 30 miles away. With regards to electronics, I switch them all off, I never flipped my R1 even two's up, or any other big bike I've owned. I do recall my mate locking his front wheel on snow with abs on his VFR 800, cost him a lot of money
Great video as always, you always talk sense Mr Neeves 👍🏻 There is still interest in motorcycling, I've helped 2 brothers around 20 yrs old find 125 s to start their two wheel career. The younger brother has been riding for 6 months now and the older just starting.
What we love about your reviews is how the bikes make you feel vs what the spec sheet says, because we care about how the bikes make us feel. Great work @neevsey - appreciate the content.
I totally agree with you. There is too much MotoGP races these days. And the calendar is strange with a big break in June and 7 races in 9 weeks (I think) in September / October. I think part of the magic of GPs is that they are not run every week like football. But when you look at F1 calendar, I’m pretty sure we are not going in the way of less races per year. Thanks for another good video. ✌🏻
Hi Michael. I have a 40 wheel hp DRZ400SM that is a hoot to ride and will easily eat up bigger power bikes in the hills, and I've picked up a 1 owner 2002 Blackbird with 5,500 of your miles (9000k's) on it. I doubt big power bikes are finished especially if electric gets up and going properly. Power is great to have but getting the better of the bike is more satisfying. Time and place though winding out a big power bike is something I will need until I get too old.
On the 100bhp thing my bike in the UK is an XSR700 (70bhp) and it's so much fun, never feel i need any more. I'm fortunate enough to spend 5 months on the year in Spain, near Malaga, my Spanish bike is a Himalayan 411 (24bhp) ridden mostly with a pillion. it should be terrible, but it takes us everywhere. From nipping the shops to 450Km days. We have explored so many beautiful places on that bike and gone places I'd never go on an expensive GS. Its our only form of transport in Spain. Also with a low power bike it doesn't seem so wrong having a T-shirt and Short days on the Costa. So as much as i admire the over 100bhp stuff for now this 59 year old is enjoying a slower pace of motorcycle (ex sports bike rider and Police Motorcyclist).
I was tempted to change my 06 gixer 750.... Until I noticed anything sensible (I commute all year on two wheels) even the 1000's barely touch what the 750 has power wise. Think I'll stick with the GSXR until it dies.. and as someone who's disabled (only has use of left hand) don't think it's possible to have a newer bike (fly by wire throttle) even as an engineer. It's need schematics etc and if bet it wouldn't be a quick job to reverse the throttle action... I'm guessing manufacturers would laugh if I showed "discrimination against the disabled" 😜
Hi Neevesy, thanks for another informative Q&A video. As a fan of motorcycle racing, but riding at a very amauteur level, occasional track day rider. It would be great to hear your point of view at some racing clips, for example yesterday's BSB final laps. It doesn't have to be very serious analysis, but maybe just share some of your thoughts, experiences or memories of the track. Cheers, look forward to your coming videos!
Hi Neevsy, I own a Ducati Streetfighter 848 as my only bike at the moment, which I love (much thanks to the longterm reviews you did on it back in the day). But that bike is now blinged up with all the extra goodies and after a few trackdays with it I feel it's a bit too nice to dare pushing it properly (all in my head). So, I'm thinking of getting a cheap-ish sportsbike as well, to use for track-days and help me develop as a rider (and not break my heart if I crashed it). I have a real soft spot for the Honda CBR954RR Fireblade for some reason. I'm also looking at the Triumph Daytona 675 and of course the Neevsy-approved last gen Suzuki GSX-R 750. I've been riding for +10 years actively and do a few track days each year, but I am by no means the fastest out there. So do you think a 954 Blade could be a fun choice? Could you simply recommend them all or do you feel like some will stand out as the best choice here? Would love to hear your thought comparing them all. I'm mostly thinking about how each bike would work as a base package (I probably can't stay away from doing small mods to improve them anyways) to start develop on and be as much fun as possible while doing so. Answer or not, keep up the good work mate!! /Rikard Ploj
Neevesy, glad you mentioned the racing. I'm a die hard MotoGP fan but it has been pretty boring for a lot of this year. Aero, tyre-pressure problem, Ducati dominance and some of the tracks are just not very exciting. The BSB Brands Hatch GP finale was the most stunning couple of races I've ever seen. Especially the last race, the risks Tommy & Kyle Ryde were taking was completely breathtaking. Some of the hardest moves (especially given the context) I've seen, but there was nothing dirty. I was genuinely scared for both of them going into the last lap...you could see how much they both wanted it. I did want Tommy to take the championship but Kyle Ryde is such a deserving champion. BSB is just great, the tracks are better and the bikes are purer than MotoGP. I just love BSB :)
Yamaha R9 for alot of £££ or buy a 2011- GSXR750ZL series, 150hp and proper screamer for alot less. Seems like a no brainer for me. Should have my L4 finished soon. RUclips video to come. The Kawasaki ZX636 uncorked is also a great choice. It was always my pick of the 600 class bikes too. GSXR 1000 K5 for the ltr bikes.
I went from a K3 GSXR 1000 to a 650cc single cylinder "thumper" and never looked back. The big bikes are frustrating to ride on the street, you have all that performance but you rarely get to tap into it. The 650 I ride like a madman and it's mostly within legal limits, certainly nothing to get me in real trouble unlike the GSXR.
I have similar feelings. I have a gsxr 750 and unless you are on perfect roads with very little traffic its so frustrating nevermind also being in a cramped riding position. In the summer i bought a street triple r 675 and it pretty much kicks the gsxrs arse in every department apart from outright performance which like you said cant be used at the best of times. So many assume that having bonkers performance on tap is the sweetspot when its actually far from it
I have a 2019 v4 panigale and 2022 ktm 890 adventure. The electronics are good on both of them. Ktm's has intervened on the trails a few times, through mud etc. Plus the abs did a great job on a super steep down hill section. I'm 44. Thanks for making the video's. :)
On the electronics, even the humble Trident 660 now has a six axis IMU and cruise control, people definitely want it. My ‘95 147PS Daytona 1200 can be a scary bike on a wet winters day after being used to a modern bike.
Great video again Michael on the racing front I have been lucky to watch Moto Gp in Spain Barcelona and Aragon and In the uk it’s the sound just watching the bikes just blows me away like the first time I saw bike racing 1977 500 at Silverstone as a 16 year old totally amazing. Glad you’re enjoying your Super Duke . I have been riding the GT version for the last 8 years 50,000 miles everything from Europe tours 2 up to track days a brilliant bike 👍👍👍
I used to think that all the electronics were over the top until the other day when a young lady carrying a new born baby walked out infont of the bike and I had to emergency stop, the bikes electronics took over and the bike stood on its nose and avoided the crash the young lady didn’t even notice and carried on walking
Another belting vlog mate 🙏🏽👍🏽😎🏍, always my first click as soon as they drop, your episodes are such a refreshing change to just bike reviews from other channels. Love the tech talk / banter 👍🏽, take care mate ! 😎🏍🔥🔥
I have a new Street Triple & 120+ horse power is more than enough even for touring, but bikes have got physically smaller. My old ZX7 wasn’t as comfortable but much roomier with more space to throw panniers over etc Going touring in Europe next year, I think my mate on his GS is going to have to carry some of my kit!
I've got the MotoGP Videopass Neevsey. To be honest, there's almost too much content to watch. It's well worth the subscription. I also absolutely love FIM Jr GP which includes all the step up classes to MotoGP. Fabulous racing last weekend in Aragon. Those kids are super quick. And its free on RUclips too.
maybe because i'm young but i have no issue keeping up with motogp, wsbk, wcr, arrc and my local msbk. i'm happy to just watch the odd highlights here and there for ewc, motoamerica and bsb since they're not as close to my heart. but i just can't get enough of the action, i like there being as much racing as there is because i'm never bored on a train or a bus or on the toilet
The ideal bike would be something with power you actually use, but also with the nice kit you get on these massively powerful high end bikes. The only bike like that I can think of is the ZX4RR, and you often see people complain about how expensive that bike is for a 400cc, failing to realize that it's pretty cheap for an inline 4.
For 100 bhp bikes of course there will be more powerful bikes, but I think we're moving away from "what are the limits of a motorcycle", which has been the whole culture of fast bikes since the 90s and 2000s, to "what do I actually enjoy and use" as being more of a focus. Now that we know what 150-200+ bhp is like on two wheels the vast majority of riders, even your fast boys, recognize that it's exhausting to ride those things, mentally and physically. They're fun for short stints, but rather than all sports bikes being road-legal track machines we're shifting to a focus on bikes that are more fun and usable in reality, which typically means not being terrifyingly fast.
But all naked and as a commuter all year on 2 wheels its fkn daft.. I don't want an "adventure" bike or a touring bike. It's rather a sport bike (I use my 06 GSXR 750 which I love)
@@loonaticsrunningtheassylumi just dont get the appeal of adventure bikes when 95% of people dont even take them over loose gravel nevermind off road. A sports tourer is really all the bike they need
@@neevesybikesGood news! We were stuck with our schedule between bike rental, air travel, hotel bookings, etc. Gives me an excuse to return next year. ;)
Loved the show today. Wsbk, why the hell is assen in April when there are Spanish ones that would have better weather then. As for tech, no, so for me, but I do like semi active suspension on my multistrada, though. Just added to my L twin fleet. a hypermotard 1100 for some it's parts it's mega fun.
Thanks for the informative content. Intrigued about touring on the Superduke, having just done 18 days in Europe on a Tuono - wouldn’t surprise me if we crossed paths 😏. I found it cold on this trip and missed a fully faired bike, but it seems you got on alright with zero fairing. I normally tour on a 1200 MS, but on the Ape my speeds were generally lower than normal…
Another absolutely class insight mate👌🙌😎 AND can’t believe that the KTM is that good and reliable 🤔love the look of them always have but I’m always put off by there reliability 🤷♂️ Good to hear there not that bad 😉food for thought Keep these coming 👍😁
Am I wrong to be a little disappointed in the new tiger sport 800 ? I have no doubt it will be a great bike but can't help thinking it's not far enough removed from the 660. An up-spec version(10 more bhp, better dash, brakes) as an option would have been nice to see and how great would a tiger sport 1200 with all the goodies be. Keep up the great work.
I think aero and the current front tyre issues are not helping, coupled with the fact that the 24 ducati amazing and the japanese are in a rut (hey, they dominated for decades!) and but we still have a championship with the top riders that is going to the wire (and moto 2/3 has been good too). If it wasn't for topraks injury, the wsbk season would have been a walk over, as it was for bautista and rea previously. They always seem to get it wrong with restrictions, balancing rules and super consessions. Bsb for me is better (rules wise) than wsbk.
Move to California. If you are careful, you can speed in the canyons and the weather is great for riding most of the year except when it's too hot. I don't regret having a 160bhp KTM.
Hi Michael taking about GSXR 750s Slab and Sling shot 750s i have at last got a chance to review both of them on Wednesday of this week my friend John has a couple of broken ribs but hopefully i will be able to cover it. Massive thank you from Northern Ireland. The Home of Road Racing.
Im 25, been riding since I was 16. Now in have an 2003 r6 with 14k! And a KTM duke 125. Im planning on buying a klx300r to start some dirt riding! Love your videos ! Keep them coming!
Hi Neevsie. MotoGP too much like Formula one now. My go to racing is BSB then WSB. KTM ahh stop swearing at us never have a KTM again. Had the 1290 super duke gt it spent more time in the KTM garage than my own. Too much electronics (more lights on than Blackpool illuminations ) Not only that KTM dealer are rarer than rocking horse plop. You are my go to tester whenever I'm looking to source a new bike keep up the good work.
Waterproof clothes over what you're wearing in winter, in Australia, is the way to go. You normally don't need too much and the waterproof stuff keeps the wind out.
Hellllo Michael, just watching this after watching the final bsb. I’m counting my lucky stars! Haha we are the Neevesy generation 😊 Got me thinking , you, Whitham ,Parrish that enthusiasm for bikes ,it’s quite something ,Thankyou I’ll leave you with this , I was sitting having my tootsies done by my lovely podiatrist lady and she said me and my friend had quite a laugh the other day , a guy pulled up at the cafe we where in on a gorgeous red motorbike, fully clad in leather , he was looking good! Then he removed his helmet , now there was a bald wrinkled face on top of that leather suit, don’t any young men ride motorbikes? I’m old enough to laugh but she had a point! Still better than riding a surron round the village in a mask bragging how fast it is because it does 40. Take care my man and keep them coming.
The good thing about electronics is that you can turn them off (on most modern bikes) turning them analog and that makes life really interesting on a bike with 215-ish bhp...
If I rode on a dyno I'd talk about peak HP. If you ride on roads torque, the technical term for grunt is more useful along with tank range. Tracks go round and round and round and round and......
If you spent 2 weeks two-up touring on the SDR you did well as it’s not the most pillion or luggage friendly bike - How did you manage enough? Love the vids and everything you do, BIG THANKS! 👍🏻
A couple of questions if you don’t mind! For a track only bike - GYTR, 2024 Fireblade with HRC race kit or the new V4? The first two would be very tricky for the same money as a barely touched V4… Also, is it still the case that it’s better to get a base model and add decent suspension or do you think the latest gen 3 Ohlins active suspension is now more than good enough?
Hi Neevesy - greetings from Thailand. Continuing on from questions you have answered about electronics on bikes, I only recently realised that there are limits to what electronics such as ABS & traction control can achieve. I was recently riding down a winding mountain road that was wet & greasy. On one corner I braked a little late and so, a little harder, and the front tyre just skidded - there was no interference from the bike's electronics and I had to do it the 'old skool' way to avoid going off the road and down the side of the mountain. Thankfully there was no oncoming traffic and I avoided a mishap (except in my underpants). Have you ever had this happen to you? I'm still not sure the ABS on my bike (Z900RS) is working correctly even though my mechanic says it is (sorry for the extended waffle 😊).
For all your traveles have you ever thought about coming to the US? Specify the North East. New York, Connecticut, Vermont, we have some of the best roads. Come and see. Cheers
Hi Neevesy, loving the channel..I have a question for your next ask series! Iv not long got myself a very nice stock 2007 cbr600rr, very low Milage for the age and rides and looks great at it is. Do you think it's worth modernising with parts from the newer year model. Is there anything really worth spending some money to really make a big improvement to the ride other than better tyres. Or should I leave it along and enjoy it for what it is and save some money. It's mainly for a weekend blast but may take it on track next year money and time dependant. Hope that reads OK being dyslexic I struggle putting my thoughts down in words. Cheers from a fellow Man of Kent, Knowlesy
Hi Neevesy, great insight as always but was just wondering if you need all the electronics to ride a 100+ BHP machine to its limits safely, maybe reduce the power and the electronics so the rider has to make the safety decisions. Just a thought.
Would you not think that the R9 is a little light on hp, even against your GSXR750 or even a street triple on track? You'll end up pushing the limits through the corners in fast group. Agree with your comments on bigger capacity road bikes, even with suspension I think the weight is better damped, & longer wheelbase makes for a more comfortable ride on our country roads, perhaps safer too when making progress.
Hi Neevesy, thanks for another great video! You answered a question about winter riding gear with all those layers, makes me wonder why aren’t you using an airbag system as one of the layers for extra protection? Thank you
Hi Neevesy- wondering what your thoughts are on Completely Motorbikes going into administration? How do you feel the wider UK bike market is at the moment, and is CM closing going to cause any ripples in the industry?
Hey Michael. Thanks for these great videos. Interesting comment on the Ducati electronics making them super fast for track-days. I’ve booked three days on track in 2025 at Portimão. Should I do it on my Gen 1 SV650S or will I be out completely out gunned and possibly in danger with closing speeds from newer, faster bikes. Thanks again.
You say that there are not many young riders, but I wonder if that's more of a local problem to some countries. I see a lot of teenagers, in Spain, riding small displacement motorcycles, many of them 2 strokes. I wonder if the legislation in some countries is a big deterrent for young people taking up riding.
I’d say it’s the cost of living more than anything else. When my dad was a student in the 70s he had a small flat and a car on a student grant and some extra work. When I became a student no one could afford having a car let alone a flat by myself. Hell, I could hardly afford a bus pass despite having a decent job at the time. Times change and while licensing changes might have made it harder to get a license I think the main thing is just the cost of everything. Then people start working and the bills start to add up. Mortgages, having kids, groceries. People feel they need a car and that has to be paid for. Wife would rather fly somewhere warm than sit on the back of a motorbike to a semi-local spot which might be cold and rainy. I don’t think the biking industry is doing itself any favours by going up-market or adding features and I don’t think older bikers (the most gatekeepy of subsets I’ve mixed with) are helping much either.
Bike's were popular once because people couldn't afford cars, so that was also about the cost of living then too. Today, youngsters don't see bikes as an opportunity to save money or as a viable mode of transport . It's a car at all costs I'm afraid.
@@johnnyblue4799 Used cars (5-10 years old) are cheaper than a lot of used bikes these days, especially if you factor in the gear. Depends where you live I guess but here in Sweden kids graduate from the 50cc scooters into cars rather than onto bikes.
@@903lew I guess if you take the cheapest cars and the most expensive bikes that might be true. I'm in Belgium these days... Cars are very expensive unless you buy junk.
Hi, as someone who has been away from bikes for a decade or so, where are all the 600cc 4 cylinder bikes gone? Are modern mid size twin cylinder bikes any better than a 20 year old CBR600 or R6? Thanks Richard
The truth is that electronics HAVE changed the game with superbikes, if for no other reason than mortals can creep up to the ‘limit’, and peek over the edge and see a little bit about what these bikes are really capable of. I’ve been riding superbikes since the early 1990’s and it hasn’t been since recent years when I got an R1M that I really started to use MOST of the bike most of the time instead of riding around afraid to pull the trigger most of the time back in a time when bikes had midrange and direct throttles. That bike has been a big step in my riding for other bikes as well because you get to see and feel a lot more of what these bikes are capable of.
What do you think about the lack of riding gear on some youtubers channels? Getting called a Power Ranger for wearing full leathers seems like a terrible peer pressure to me! I live in Australia and wear them all year round, despite the heat. What are your thoughts on this important subject?
P.S I've seen a guy laying in the middle of the road after getting knocked off his bicycle by a car. Bystanders would not let him get up I heard later. I did not approach the scene as there were many people standing around. I heard he was alright injury wise, although he received 3rd degree burns from laying on a scorching tar road in summer. Another reason I always wear leathers!
@@GSXR.Knightman Aussie here to mate. All gear all the time.If its too hot I usually don't take the bike out. Yes there is so many idiots flying in t shirts and trackies.Stupid.
Q&A. Have you riden a ducati monster 821? I have a the stripe model with fully adjustable suspension. (To be honest normally as you know naked bikes within these ranges tend to have basic suspension). And yes i believe the suspension is basic compared to an rsv4... But i can say something, i have gsxr 1000 l1 (love it) and i can go just as fast or if so faster in certain areas! Any naked bikes in this range that have that great suspension? ( talking about non ohlins models... ) Cheers neevsey! Josh from spain.
I’ve had the Speed Triple 1200Rs 178 bhp and I’ve got the Yamaha Delight 8 Bhp!! I ride it every day, I didn’t ride the Triumph hardly etc because it’s completely pointless for uk roads , was it more fun ? Absolutely 💯 it was amazing but a waste of a bike whereas the 125 scooter is perfect for everyday riding 20 30 mph but it’s boring af ! I hate it 😂
It would be nice to offer you a low electrics package that was a few grand cheaper than full electronics . I think they have hicked prices a bit and justified it with all the extras you get. Same with cars now that have 32inch wide screen infotainment systems that noooo one needs.and just distract.
I had a question. I worked on changing the out the front mirrors and cut the wiring for the turn signals, however I forgot to disconnect the battery on my '24 GSXR 750. I now have an engine check light and the bike will not start. Everything else works fine. Display and fuel pump engage, just will not start. Is there anything I can do to get the check engine light to turn off and the bike to start. I disconnected the battery and checked the fuses etc but nothing. I would appreciate any help.
Sagar sheldekar power drift ... they make review videos as rock concerts speed music leaning on curves creating sparks, I think it reminds me of prostution in the name of love.
New KTM doesn’t have 200hp like any other 1000cc. I’m talking sportbikes. It seems like R7 and R9 are all the hype. KTM RC 990 is what I’m talking about
If someone ever said to me are 100 bhp bikes are they finished ?, I would respectfully say no,, yes different riders can handle more power , but not everyone can access that power as easily on today's congested roads , the whole I got 200 bhp is in my opinion a bragging right,, why would I need 200 bhp when 130 from my 2004 bike can keep up with most bikes or vehicles., I'm no Carl foggerty but I can get it into triple digits pretty quick believe me on that and no I'm not being big headed, big horsepower has never been a problem it's getting it to the back tyre that's the issue,, if you could put 130 bhp in a 400 cc bike or 250,, that's the dream.. bike power has gone up,..but so has bike weight . Give me a 125cc cagivia against a bigger hp big. In some bends, and I'll guarantee it's not all about big power. It's how you use what you got.
I can bet that 90% of drivers of powerful motorcycles do not dare to open the throttle all the way, nor the brakes. At least 80% of drivers do not know where to look while driving. More than 50% of them are afraid to lean more than +-35 degrees. Is power more affordable today than before so everyone has the latest and greatest motorcycles?
Great video as always, won't be watching MotoGP anymore..its become dull like F1. Prefer BSB and WSB,not sure about 100bhp bikes being finished as I love my 207whp H2 SX.

I love seeing geezers on the nice machines. I’m somewhat approaching that segment of age myself (37 years now) but knowing my younger self I’m really glad I couldn’t afford all the performance at say 25. Youthful risk taking is quite something else.
@Raymaciver big respect for keeping your wits and your reflexts and skill on point at that age to handle that power,, experience counts for alot .
Good on ya fella, I’m a similar age but I think 220 hp would be lost on me, struggle to use all 120 odd on my Street Triple
I'm with you brother, 59 years old till January, enjoying my second KTM Superduke R
Are you old enough for that V4 young man?
Cheers!
I'm 70 now and a year ago went down from a gsx750 to a dl650 - love it! More than enough power (for me) and comfortable and roomie.
Hi neevsey
Following on from the question about 100bhp bikes, I'd like to ask what you think of what's become of the sporty middle weight sector in biking? i.e why is whats considered a middleweight now putting out similar power to a super naked from 10-15 years ago.
God bless ya 😊👍
T-shirt del Passo del Muraglione...tanta roba!! As we say in Italy, meaning 'wow'!

20 bhp or 200 bhp………..makes no difference. Its all about the way the bike makes you feel. Great content. 👍
unless you trying to pass or get up hill....what a fake lie of a statement.
Ah reminds me of a joke… old bull and young bull
Bought a Keis heated jacket and gloves a couple of weeks ago. Games changer to keep me riding for longer throughout the year.
Sad that younger folks aren't getting into bikes and connecting with like minded folk 😢
Keep the content coming, with the winter almost here, we need the "fix" 😊
Cheers.
Another 30 mins + in Planet Neevsey.. time well spent. Thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I think my z900rs has the right balance of electronics. Small screen for gears and a few other stats….ABS and TC (0,1,2)…. I’m happy.
Thoughtful, reasoned and balanced as always.
What we love about your reviews is how the bikes make you feel vs what the spec sheet says, because we care about how the bikes make us feel. Great work @neevsey - appreciate the content.
Thanks, Matthew, much appreciated 😊👍
I totally agree with you. There is too much MotoGP races these days. And the calendar is strange with a big break in June and 7 races in 9 weeks (I think) in September / October. I think part of the magic of GPs is that they are not run every week like football.
But when you look at F1 calendar, I’m pretty sure we are not going in the way of less races per year.
Thanks for another good video. ✌🏻
I love your honesty Michael, that's why I'm subscribed to your awesome channel.
Thank you, much appreciated! Keep on watching 😊👍
27:00 this is the last one.. youll be glad to hear......well were not Neevesy! keep em coming best channel on RUclips :)
Thank you, sir 😊👍
Perfectly said… the journey not the pace
Great Thanks for asking. Always look forward to them. No matter the bike the rider is always key!
Re pain in the crotch! Much improved thanks for your time n help.
I used to think that all the electronics were over the top until the other day when a young lady carrying a new born baby walked out infont of the bike and I had to emergency stop, the bikes electronics took over and the bike stood on its nose and avoided the crash the young lady didn’t even notice and carried on walking

BSB - decided by one point between the two best riders on the final lap of the last race of the season…….. That’s racing!!
As do I. 180 quid(or something) for an annual subscription, for every session of every class and historic content. That is a bargain!
Just BSB and IOM TT for me

maybe because i'm young but i have no issue keeping up with motogp, wsbk, wcr, arrc and my local msbk. i'm happy to just watch the odd highlights here and there for ewc, motoamerica and bsb since they're not as close to my heart. but i just can't get enough of the action, i like there being as much racing as there is because i'm never bored on a train or a bus or on the toilet
Excellent as always!
It’s How I feel about my SFV4s grey. All the nuts, without the compromising track position.

Thank you.I agree on your point about MotoGP.I found this years racing(From a TV point of view) has become tedious.

😂 Cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍
How amazing was that last BSB race Neevsey?❤
The good thing about electronics is that you can turn them off (on most modern bikes) turning them analog and that makes life really interesting on a bike with 215-ish bhp...
If I rode on a dyno I'd talk about peak HP.
If you ride on roads torque, the technical term for grunt is more useful along with tank range.
Tracks go round and round and round and round and......
If you spent 2 weeks two-up touring on the SDR you did well as it’s not the most pillion or luggage friendly bike - How did you manage enough?
Love the vids and everything you do, BIG THANKS! 👍🏻
I use all the power for very short blasts every time I take my R1 out 🤷♀I get a rush from it. Thought we was all the same 🤔Is it just me?
that was great, thanks.
You're welcome!
The Z900RS electronics are rather rudimentary in comparison to the ride by wire bikes, I must agree.
But no risk no fun, eh 😂
@@kwakithailandSure, but you'd expect the ABS to work when riding straight.
BTW, I was coming back from Umphang in the rain. Not fun!
For all your traveles have you ever thought about coming to the US? Specify the North East. New York, Connecticut, Vermont, we have some of the best roads. Come and see. Cheers
I’d love to one day. 😊👍
Are 100bhp+ bikes finished? My Hayabusa says "no".
Thank you
Yep, an airbag is often one of those layers 👍😊
Hi Neevesy- wondering what your thoughts are on Completely Motorbikes going into administration? How do you feel the wider UK bike market is at the moment, and is CM closing going to cause any ripples in the industry?
Hey Michael. Thanks for these great videos.
Interesting comment on the Ducati electronics making them super fast for track-days. I’ve booked three days on track in 2025 at Portimão. Should I do it on my Gen 1 SV650S or will I be out completely out gunned and possibly in danger with closing speeds from newer, faster bikes. Thanks again.
Do it, but just keep your wits about you!
@@PDCRed Cars are even more insanely expensive. I don't think many can afford cars.
Thoughts on the new Yamaha R9 and upcoming 990 RC R, panigale V2?
I like, I subscribe, I watch. I give you my thumb up you!
I thank you! 👍
You think the r9 can follow your gsxr750 on track ?
There is something to be said about 3rd gear 100+mph power wheelies, granted it's not always needed.
Amen to that!
( talking about non ohlins models... )
Cheers neevsey!
Josh from spain.
Duke 890r suspension is incredible 👍
There’s a question. I’m not sure what your problem might be. Sounds like one for a proper mechanic. Good luck, mate 👍
Sagar sheldekar power drift ... they make review videos as rock concerts speed music leaning on curves creating sparks, I think it reminds me of prostution in the name of love.
BSB is the championship I enjoy most.
👍
“Some say, he was born at a track day, and has no concept of 4 wheeled vehicles, or women.
All we know is, HE’S CALLED THE NEEVESY…”
Ha, funny you should say that. You’ll have to tune into next week’s vid!
Superduke❤😊
100bhp is the minimum you need tbh.Yes I've had fun on bikes with less power than that, but if you've only got one bike, you want way over 100bhp.
