You could get another small dog or a cat so that he is not home alone & barking. Also, find peaceful music on youtube & play it while you are gone. Alot of them are hours long. Your apt looks good! They should reimburse you for the damaged curtains, like take it off your rent price or something because it's not right that you have to pay for new curtains when they were damaged by mold. Definitely get a good air purifier for your room if you don't have one already, that targets mold. Also, buy the air filters for the apt ac that filter mold spores. This is important for you & your pets health. They HAVE to fix the mold issue... that's BIG. It can make your very ill, and your pet, if not taken care of. I have dealt with that myself in an apt & know other people who have as well. Laws protect residents regarding this.
Thank you Suzy for all the suggestions 🙏🏽💕. I don’t think I’ll be getting another small dog or car for now. I would love to tho! I didn’t even think about asking for reimbursement 🤦🏻♀️. Last time when I left jhaape, I had both the noise machine and tv on. Hopefully it will work eventually. When he was a puppy, we used to that and it did work. Air purifier is a great idea! I will be getting one asap. When I buy the AC (the apartment doesn’t have an AC), I’ll buy those filters.
Can you get a Pet Remedy plug in diffuser in America?
It releases a calming scent which will work as long as you turn them on. It really helped our nervous dog. We put it on all day at first, then used it only when we left the house. It really helped and you can get a spray to put on them in the same scent for any other stressful time, say when your travelling long distances.

I have been living in NYC for the past 5 years by way of Florida and have found that using a shopping trolley 🛒 super helpful with hauling laundry to the laundromat! Although it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing, it has been a life-saver!
Thank you so much for the suggestion 💗 I have tennis elbow on both of my elbows. Not sure if shopping trolley will cause any additional pain. Before I got this backpack, I was using my hand-carry for laundry and my elbow was in pain. After that laundry trip, I got the backpack.
I saw Jhaape and had to subscribe! It breaks my heart when our furbabies are alone at home without us.This is why I also bought several cameras. One looking outside of the apartment for security and another or two inside for my furboy and if/when maintenance comes in. I love taking my fur-boy everywhere so I do prefer colder weather for this reason. Since you have the camera, you can now know what Jhaape is doing when you are away. If possible, maybe take him later to a dog-sitter ( that you trust ) or doggy daycare even if it's for only one day of the week. But we can help solve this problem by getting enough subscribers so you can WFH in a new apartment where you can be more comfortable!
Doggy daycare occurred to me as well. I have several friends who do that when they have to work a lot and their dogs absolutely love it.
That is so kind! Thank you 🙏🏽 💖. After I saw his reaction via the camera, I haven’t left Jhaape by himself. My sister is helping me with the situation and we are working on finding a solution. Also, thank you for the suggestions! I have never taken jhaape to a doggy daycare or had a pet sitter in the past. He never had this issue. This probably got triggered with the move and moving to a new city. I will definitely look into doggy day care for him.

Your fur baby is barking due to separation anxiety probably like you said related to being in a new home. My shitzu poodle is going through that now since we moved from one home to a temporary home until we reached our permanent home. He still barks even after being settled for a year, something he never did before we moved. His brother, a Bichon frisée we had to put down in 2019 had severe separation anxiety and I had a neighbor leave me a similar note years ago. I felt so bad and I totally understand how you felt receiving the note. Looks like you are proactively trying to find a solution.

If the black on the curtains is mold, that would be the last straw for me. I'd be gone so fast, my feet wouldn't touch the ground.Your health and well being is important.

Jhaape is such a cute little guy. It's so nice of you to work at finding a good solution for his barking! Maybe doggy daycare and some training? As a cat owner the idea of training is always sort of unfamiliar LOL but every dog I know has seemed to really benefit from it and be happier. The mold problem is alarming but at least it seems to be localized in one spot. Maybe putting some Damp-Rid in that corner (or a plug-in dehumidifier) would help alleviate the problem until your super gets back? I use the hanging Damp-Rid bags in my basement and it has eliminated the musty odor completely.

I am so glad you moved Tisha! If I had seen this video a year ago, I would have told you what happened to my mom with mold in her senior place that was pretty old. Thank God you are out. When my Labrador was a puppy, I got a note from a neighbor saying he was barking if I went anywhere in the evening. I took him to doggie day camp while I worked during the day. That was back when I had to go to the office everyday, now my Lab is going to be 14 Years next month! I had to bring him with me, which was ok, I only went to the grocery or I would take him for a run.

Have you tried a thunder shirt for your dog? It has helped my cat to be calmer it doesn’t completely stop it but has helped.

Hi sweetie. Another great life apartment series. Maybe a dehumidifier would work. It reminds me of mold that was on my books. I had them in a window and from the heat inside and the cold window it caused condensation and that created mold. Your window may not be sealed properly.
Your sofa is beautiful and the color is vibrant and rich looking.
Hoping the pest aren’t much of an issue. Makes my tummy stir. I know from my sons apartment how gross and hard it is. Remember also (not to freak you out) public transportation has hitch hikers on there. Meaning pesty critters.
Puppy May need something to calm his anxiety. If he is a crate trained pup maybe he’s missing his den. Some dogs are den pups. Rescue Remedy is both human and four legged safe. Comes in drops or spray on tongue. Be happy and enjoy your space. See you down the way

We crate trained Jhaape up till he was 9 months. After that he has never used the crate.

Hey there -- You might want to leave him with food puzzles to keep him busy when you leave. If you come back as soon as he barks -- He will learn that barking while you are gone, gets him what he wants - YOU :). Definitely chat with your vet about some medications to help with the transition.

Try a dehumidifier and an air purifier and have the super seal those windows. Maybe even get a fan. Hang in there you're still doing great. Your fellow 30 something year olds admire your bravery!!

Playing some kind of white noise may help calm Chape or somewhat distract him from every street and building noise while you’re away.
I have just started to use the noise machine. Initially got it because it was disturbing my sleep and it was helped tremendously. Hoping the noise machine helps when I am not home as well 🤞🏽💓

Loving your new couch, I like a strong colour sofa 💕 the mould is likely from condensation, so either wiping down the windows each day and/or opening the windows to air

You might need a small portable humidifier for your bedroom put in that window seal. And cbd chews for dogs i use it sometimes when i have to leave

I just found your channel yesterday, love it. I recommend getting a crate for your pup, put him in there with his blanket & a piece of your used clothing to keep him calm. It should help, plus the cbd. I recommend super snouts "chill out" cbd gummies.
Thank you so much for the suggestion and being part of this small community ♥️. After consulting with the vet, I just started to give him CBD. He was crate trained when he was a puppy. We stopped after he was 1 yr old. He will be turning 8 this year (crazy how time flies)

Try leaving the tv/radio on for him - worked for my barking dog. I think coming home when he barks is going to reinforce the behaviour.
Oh that’s true! Didn’t think it that way. Thank you Shannen 💗💗💗. I did leave the tv and noise machine on. Hopefully all of this will eventually help 🤞🏽. When he was a puppy, I used to have the radio on and never had any issues (used to have a camera to monitor).

Hi Tisha, new follower here!! ☺️ I also have a sweet pup that barks while I’m away and I found turning on my sound machine while I’m gone helps drown out noise for her as well as makes her sleepy eventually (since I use a sound machine to go to sleep too! ☺️) Just a thought to try. Maybe leaving the tv on while you are gone would help with the braking. He would not feel so alone.

As always loved this episode ❤ what did you get to clean Jhaape’s paws. I have the same problem with Senjed and I just clean her paws with towel🤦🏻♀️ but with all this rain towel itself doesn’t help

For the first round, I use soap water and then for the second round I use water. If his paws are really dirty, I use the soap water twice. Once done, I use paper towel to wipe it. In the past, I used to wash his paws in the bathtub but then it would get so messy and other parts of his body would get soaked too.
My neighbors got evicted cause so many of us complained about their 2 dogs barking all day long. And it became a huge issue. It was so annoying and my baby couldn’t even nap 😩
I feel bad but also, not everyone is dog people and we shouldn’t have to deal with it.
I couldn't agree more. I love dogs BUT you should if you have 2 dogs they should be accompany each other enough that they are not barking.
I agree. My now-deceased dog couldn’t be left alone or he would drive my neighbors nuts. I found a good day care and that’s where he went if he couldn’t accompany me. I also had an on call sitter for nights if I needed to work late. He also boarded with her when I traveled. After a note from a neighbor, my boy was never left alone in my apartment. Costly, yes, but he was worth every penny.
I’m sorry you had to go through this situation 💕. Once I received the note, I have only left jhaape once. It was for a short duration of time and I had installed the camera to monitor. After I saw his reaction, I do not feel comfortable leaving him by himself. If the note had the apartment number, I would have reached out to them to apologize & thank them for letting me know. I agree with what you have mentioned.

Dogs are pack animals. Being left alone is not natural for them. In their pack, they are never alone. We owe them to provide for their innate needs. Being left alone is scary and unnatural for a dog. Find good daycare for your buddy so you can drop him there when he can’t be with you.
Hi Marina, we take well being of jhaape very seriously. I don’t leave him alone for a long period time. If I have to leave him for a prolonged time, then he is with my sister Prati. Thank you for your suggestion regarding doggy daycare. I will definitely look into it 🙏🏽
