  • 3d printing my remix of bostwickenator's parametric slew drive. I modified the design for easier printing. Let's assemble it and see how well it works!

    Sorry about the pain with those undersized features! I've gone back and checked and the cheap stepper I had used as a reference is well under the spec size. Great work making it more printable. Like you said there are a few places in the fusion file where you might need to make tweaks when you change parameters. If you need to do this you just need to look for the red elements in the timeline and figure out what I've forgotten to take into account. I'm curious, what are you going to use the slew drive for?

      Thanks for the tips. My plan was to use it as part of a programmable wire bender. (music wire 1.2 mm). It worked once, but on a second try the ring gear skipped on the reprinted worm gear. I think I'll have to print again, larger with larger teeth...

    I'd be curious to see what the torque values you were able to get out of it and what the backlash was like. I'm impressed it worked (well at least once).
