Furiously taking notes
Glad you saw this. We're rooting for you!
He fucking cooked you for no reason😭😭😭
Never take chess lessons from a data scientist . Well done
No more teaching us sensei. You have given us everything, it is now time to release us into the wild
Gothem chess I am rooting for you!
Levy: Hikaru, can I be a GM?
Hikaru: Let me show you GM
Maybe some day!
E
Super GM!
@@ChessbattlegamesHe definitely could have been a gm when he was younger, but his level has dropped a lot and he is quite old to push for a new peak. You never know, but hard to see it happening
@@sam2725 He couldn't. It's in his last name
"Please take my GM ambitions seriously."
Hikaru: a6.
😂
🗿
This is basically a personalized coaching session disguised as content- actually pretty sweet/kind towards levy
And the explanaition was so great, instruckiv not only for Levi but for lower rated players like me as well. I realy wish someone would close the gap and explain chess not only for strong players or beginners but for all those inbetween. This Video was so great for that.
@Monika77ful no his criticism was excessive and patronizing. His ego got hurt so he tried finding something wrong with every move levy played
Honestly I feel Hikaru is the biggest supporter for Levy becoming a GM. He acts like a cold shower teacher, putting reality front and center, but always is giving him lessons in how to become better, and even goes as far as playing bad openings like this to give Levy a chance and see how well he does.
I don't think he used a bad opening to give Levy a chance. He uses bad openings like that all the time against multiple people, he even did that in... I think the speed chess championship? He played basically the alphabet against top level competitors and made it to the grand finals against Magnus, whom he started playing more real openings against. He likely plays those bad openings to get up on time because he values the time more than the opening advantage against a lower rated player.
@@MistaOppritunityno, it's not to gain or give advantages. it's simply because it's easier to leave openings theory if you play a bad opening because playing a very theoretical game would most likely lead to a drawn endgame, and you wouldn't want that to happen specially if you would lose 3-10 points just by drawing your opponent.
their relationship has been very important to the growth of chess
@@MistaOppritunity Yeah true, a better example as he said was Queen take Pawn early on which wasn't ideal.
That Speed Chess Championship though was legendary, I watched that live and just laughed, all his opponents were sweating and giving their best, meanwhile Hikaru was trying to remember what was the last Pawn he opened with.
@@idk-fe1fj Bingo. Hikaru does this all the time. The goal is to get out of theory as early as possible, and have the player play their own moves from something like move 5 instead of move 20. When you are a higher rated player you want the chess instincts and skill to come into play, not just memorization of stockfish lines and positions they have been in hundreds of times
Levy never fails to-
oops wrong channel
😂😂😂😂
E
Milk botez- 👽👽
It’s almost an instinct by this point.
Haha
Levy : (move his pawn to e4)
Hikaru : I AM GOING TO DESTROY HIS CHESS CARER BY MATĘ IN 69420 MOVES
E
@@EEEEEEEEZZZZZ… EZ ..
Lmao what a glazer
nice
@@EEEEEEEE EEEE
Levy roasting Botez sisters while Hikaru roasting Levy. Life comes full circle
And Magnus roasting Hikaru, but who is roasting Magnus?
@@rusetdaniel3524 Stockfish, but who is roasting Stockfish?
@@knighter1209 Leela, but who is roasting Leela?
@@rusetdaniel3524 Hikaru is closer to Magnus than Levy is to Hikaru or the Botez sisters are to Levy.
Masterclass example of why Levy sucks.
Levy selected his career as chess.
Hikaru: that's a blunder
This made me laugh out loud hard 😂
Levy: (transitioned from just playing Chess to also being RUclips content creator)
Stockfish: Great Move! (This was the only good move in this position)
As a successful you tube Chess Analyst etc Levy is Quite Brilliant !!
I was drinking juice but it got spit out of my mouth reading this 😂😂
One could even call it a missed win...
Things that give me life:
"Welcome to TODAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS video."
That pause followed by a "So" after Hikaru explains a different line that could or shouldn't be played.
He doesn't even say this.
He says: "Welcome back everyone. For TODAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS video.."
Hikaru is such a good friend, he showed Levy his mistake hoping it would be push him forward for his goal becoming GM. Others might seen it as content, but I'm sure there's a chess brotherhood spirit in this video.
Uh really ? Lmao
He embarrassed Levy instead of a simple phone call..IF they were friends.
Eff Levy.
@@stevejones799this isn’t embarrassing for Levy, he played one of the best players and lost, it’s an instructive video for anyone who watches which could include Levy
Embarrassed him?
This exact mentality is why people don't get good at chess. Someone analyzing a game and pointing out mistakes is not embarrassing someone.
I love the chemistry between these two. It's like big and small bro, kicking his ass but also helping him learn from his mistakes.
13:04 "I'll play Cagnus Marlson ..."
Who's that guy?
Hikaru nakamaru will play cagnus marlsen
NIKARU hakamura's idol
@@farid8902I think Hikaru is Great enough he can idolize himself

Hikaru : and its already a blunder and he should think about better opening
The most sensible looking levy face in a thumbnail I've seen in a long time
"Alright you guys, we're back!" As he leaves. Lol
Levy: announces he is going for the GM title again.
Hikaru: gives him a not so disguised coaching session.
Good guy Hikaru :)
13mins vid. Levy gonna make a 4h53min video out of this
lmao crazy that a simple pawn capture on move 4 has hikaru furious at levy
I love these high level analyses. I could never find the moves myself, but I understand them after you explain them and maybe one of these days I'll be good enough to put that understanding to use on the board.
I feel like I'm sitting in on a coaching session between Hikaru and Levy and I love it.
His todaaaayyyyyyyy always gets me😭😭
It's nice to see how Hikaru made such an explanatory video this time, I like to think he make the it for Levy... You can see all the friendship between them in this video
I love how all the chess youtubers have high levels of respect for other high level chess players, but completely trash talk each other
Levy never fails to-
Wrong channel

Did you just copy the other comment lol
@@walidayach8623 im actually not even joking when i say this but i think we just both thought of the same comment lol i should probably delete this since it really doenst look right
@@_JeffJeff_ great minds think alike so it happens sometimes
Oh wow what a fast upload !
HIkaru was voted most likely to not be a data scientist in his senior class superlatives
Hikaru roasting Levi for 13 minutes gotta be fun 😂
It's actually awesome you pointed things out for Levy - total class gesture
Thanks for another awesome recap. Always something to learn from them and gives me hope.
Such a great video. It is amazing to see the difference in how you think compared to levy compared to myself having less than 1000 Elo in blitz. The whole delayed development idea, pushing forward with initiative instead.
I love the way Hikaru Coaching Lavy. Good work, he also roots for him.
WE GUYS the fans certainly did enjoy it. You and Levy are like all of my chess content, so seeing you square off was a blast!
Love this! Surely Levy will upload too!
Hikaru is my idol
6:45 creating what? XDDDD
Great depth of analysis. Extremely helpful.
really enjoying these recaps! thanks
13:03 "Maybe i'll play Cagnus Marlsen" FUCKING LEGEND. 🤣
Cagnus Marlson 13:05
takes takes takes and takes his soul.
wrong account dude
I feel this is the Hikaru's way to support Levy in his new journey.
He keeps calling him Cagnus Marlsen lol @ 13:05
Bro is abouto to get (respectfully) destroyed
Hikarue helping Levy gain is confidence love it. Levy just needs to relax play the game and just be himself
Thanks for posting this 😊!
Let's go Hikaru and Levy!! This was a nice game to see. Good breakdown.
Hikaru and levy two streamers going head to head.
Their battle will be legendary
takes takes takes and takes his soul
Levy: can you teach me about this game
Hikaru: good idea imma make a video about it
Hhhhhhh
at least we know who was Magnus rooting for
Love this!!! Would be cool to see Levy make a video about this 😊
Very instructive, thank you for your content! I'm sure Levy would have benefited as well.
You can tell Hikaru is actually trying to help levy in this vid. This is a lesson for levy first and a yt vid second
It's good to see the difference between a potential gm and a super gm
Love from india❤
I love watching your recaps
Hikaru,
Welcome to Vancouver. Glad you brought the sunshine
this was a lot more instructive to listen to than when you narrate your own games while they happen. I liked todaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays video
Just think they only had 3 mins for us thats 20 mins thinking on one move
I hope your stay at Vancouver is enjoyable!
GREAT CONTENT.. you just keep getting better
Levy:Moves his pawn to e4
Hikaru:Its mate in 55 thousand moves
Saw you in Vancouver today!
Is there anyone more savage then Hikaru. The subtle shade constantly.
Super instructive!
I hope Hikaru would start coaching Levy as it's an obvious win-win due to how popular that content would be.
I get the feeling hikaru made this video for levy
Alex Botez had the right reaction when meeting Hikaru in titled Tuesday, she screamed, loudly 😂
Hikaru would reach GOAT level if he trains levy properly into a GM.
can't wait for the Carlus Magsen game!!
This is the best moment for this video ever because his opponent is the one who pursue a Grandmaster title so he teach him a lesson and I'm aware he learned something from this. I hope this video helps not just from us but from GothamChess as well.
Cagnus Marlson,lol.
I do that as well with names for some reason.
Levy is gonna make a 30 minutes video out of this exact same game
It's nice to see Hikaru supporting Levy
Levy’s time odds troll opening backfired. 😃
0:04 why he look at me like that
"Even against Levy" 😂😂😂
That was awesome!
Hikaru would make an outstanding sports psychologist
hikaru with immense disrespect fewer than 3 moves in and less than 1:15 into this video. it's a masterclass
There's a lot of time pressure on Levy
“Levi Rosemen” 💀
That b7 bishop was goated the whole game
Bro respectfully roasted levy in all ways
the initial roast to levy is hilarius lol
Levy: Hikaru can I be a GM?
Hikaru: Can you?
Hikaru, a top level GM: 2,34 mil subs
Levy, on the road for his GM title almost at 30: 4,89 mil subs
Maybe you also have some lessons to learn from the man himself, Hikaru ;)
Hikaru's ' Todaaaaaaaay's video' is constant in every video
Thank you Hikaru
Other title: "Levy's chances to become a GM are slim to none"
This is Levy’s biggest problem in blitz when facing scary opponents. At 7:50 Hikaru has used 12 secs versus Levy 2 min. I mean he’s time control has been awful lately and the position is even. I get it Hikaru’s a beast but he’ll never win these games down 2 mins
Unstoppable ❤❤
Hikaru really enjoys beating levy lol to assert dominance
I really hope Levy makes GM! What an amazing analysis from Hikaru.
Plot twist: Levy was Gukesh’s second at the candidates.
bro is so fast when he talks
Levy never fails to run into Hikaru
