    Utilizing all information available to you at the table is a key skill. See 13:19 where Bart lays down the gold. Context is important. You always have the opportunity to listen and observe to get a feel for which players are up or down big, who has their stack locked up, who is tilted etc. Be present and factor this extra context in when making big decisions.

      However, if T8cc is a call, then villain can do this big bet with 55. If hero is going to arrive to the river, and then call, with Tc with 6789JQAc (let's say 432 fold pf) only one of those hurts 55. Add in hero having KTdd, and TT - six combos lose to 55, three don't. Even if you think hero has KsTd and KhTd in his range 55 has value in that overbet. If 55 has no diamond, then I guess hero could have T5dd...sometimes.

      That was a lot of fun to watch and fantastic hand to learn from. Thank you.
      Overbets are increasingly common. Though perhaps not 8X !
      Really enjoy these hands where you mix in live stream footage with blacked out reveals. Thanks Bart and good job editing team.
      Would be great to have more of these.
      Also thought it was useful to consider what we do with 8Tc here, as opposed to Heros more clear call FH.

      Due the extreme nature of the betting, If this hand wasnt streamed, would you wait for V to reveal his hand after you call?
      Knowing a little of what V is up to here could have huge future value.

      The important part is not changing the bet sizing on each street and the 60% size keeps the opponents range as wide as possible while still making an all in shove give good SPR for the opponent.

    Great heart by Sam; you can hear his actual thought process in his vlog.
    If he's going to take this line, he should be doing it with 65 (which got counterfeit) and 5x that blocks bottom set. 2x potting AT on the turn is a punt and makes no sense.

    • @pontus3142
      @pontus3142 7 месяцев назад +2

      But does he open 65s from the CO? K5s and K6s are other good hands to bluff with... but does he have them?
      It's nigh-impossible to be balanced if you take a line like this. The reason to do it is because you think opponents will severely overfold or overcall. MDF says you only call 10% of the time, so I would imagine that real-life players will overcall. So maybe if you take this line, it's never a bluff.

Then the play is to check behind unimproved on the river. (The 7x pot river bet on the river is just LOL live play silliness.) Obviously, you don't make this play with AT if your ten is the Tc.

    Time to put an end the lying callers. Institute a lifetime ban from calling in again, at least. Maybe even have callers e-sign a document that intentional misrepresentation of the hand incurs a $1000 charge. Callers are not supposed to be composing a contrived chess puzzle or fantasy poker hand here, they're supposed to be discussing real poker hands with completely honest info.
    Did he really show first and not learn what villain had?????? Snap calling an 8x, $14K river bet and then showing first, is incredibly stupid. Never in a million years would I show first in that spot. When they have you crushed, you gave away a ton of info about yourself by showing. When you have them crushed, you paid to see their cards, though I'd be happy to let them irretrievably muck their hand rather than showing it, in case we are on different wavelengths about what I'd never call with.

    Out of curiosity, why COULDN'T you play KK this way? If you perceived your opponent to have a combo draw, you're wanting to get as much value in while you're ahead and make it expensive for your opponent to draw. Not to mention that if somehow he had 10-10, 5-5, or the last remaining King for K-10, you get a chance to look like a bluff so you would encourage a good player to fall for the trap and raise back into you.

      Youre not getting called for ANY size from missed draws. After calling T 2X pot bet Heros most.likely hand is pair + FD (or maybe small set), and if you have KK then T is v likely, and that can call a bluffy overbet.

    This is a case of "genius play" antics by the villain BluffaturdSam. The desperate need to demonstrate that you have figured out that no limit means you can make ridiculous bets. And it seems appropriate that our caller/hero went fake call mode since he had a hand that made this play boring. Or maybe he really wanted to see if Bart thought there was any difference between T6 and T8 here. I don't see any. The big turn bet could easily be KK charging the max against a range that's mostly club draws. But the river bet doesn't represent anything. There is no holding for which it is the correct bet amount, and that is the supposed "genius play" aspect of it. It did give me some definite happiness to see the hero snap call with a boat & take about 15.5K from queen high.

    I can absolutely see KK playing this way. If you have KK, your opponent is going to be limited to draws and 10-x mostly. All the draws missed, so you don't lose anything by making an overbet; as they're not calling anyway. It looks bluffy and a 10-x hand may call. I don't think K10 does this, as it blocks too many of the value hands you'd be looking to pay off an overbet. I also don't see 55 doing this as often because there's so much value to get paid by since you unblock all the Kx and 10x hands. Maybe 66 does this simply because it's so disguised.

  • @nathanielmorgan3592

    T6 is very very different than T8. Beating 55 and 66(unlikely cbet) is huge. T8 I'd think is a fold. K5 and K6 are better as they block value, and villain doesn't have a T for 2x pot on turn. Unless you think he's overbluffing then call with all Tx.

    Why are nut flush draws easy calls on a turn facing a 2x overbet? I get that they're absurdly deep, but you don't get to just add their entire stack as implied odds when 99.9999% of people are never coming close to going broke here when the flush completes on the river except maybe with Q9 of clubs (and even that would be a wild overplay).
    Also, that river bet is just hilariously awful. If he's bluffing, what better hands ever call for like 2x but then fold to 8x? Obviously it's awful with thin value. If it's 55 or 66, everything worse folds and KT or 66 destroys his world. If it's KT, TT or KK, you basically get called sometimes by a few combos of 55 and 66 that probably never get here this way anyway. There aren't even words to describe how terrible it would be to do that with AT.

    • @pedro.gandra
      @pedro.gandra 7 месяцев назад

      I think because he also had a pair it makes it easier to call with the flush draw, with 2 pair is obviously a no brainer call. The bluff on the river is indeed trash. This is not poker, it's disgusting, I'm glad he lost his money. A 8x sizing is either a very disrespectful value bet or a very disrespectful bluff, with these vloggers that think they are so smart, is almost always a bluff. Because they just think you'll be scared to death. And no, this guy is never doing that with AT, him saying that just shows how pathetic he really is, absolutely no hand should take this sizing ever, neither as value or bluff.

    I almost don’t see a difference between having T6cc vs T8cc in this spot if the line and overbet jam by V polarizes to KT (or KK in a super unlikely line) or absolute air. Someone tell me if I’m wrong please.. is it because we’re thinking 5s or 6s would also play this way and are included in his range after the jam as well?

      @@relaxationmeditationsleep2934??? Because T6 boats up? Yea I’m aware of that chief. It doesn’t change the fact that you still lose to KT,KK and the only difference now is you’re beating 5s played this way. Other than that isn’t it kinda the same, is what I’m asking. What are your thoughts I’m super curious

      T8 is less likely to call 2x Turn bet. (I would've folded T overbet with T8). This also makes difference in river decision making by V; which would make difference in calling decision by H. But, yeah, I've your point.
