For those that don't want to watch the whole video: During The Phone's Boot-up -- > Cancel Key. --> During Welcome countdown press and hold 1, 3, and 5 (despite him saying 12&3) . --> Brings us to enter Password. Enter the MAC Address of the Phone. Using the dial pad. Touch screen will allow you to switch between letters and numbers. When on Letters, F, for example, would be picked by pressing 3 3x. - Press Ok and the phone will reboot with the default Admin password of 456. (edited per Chris's update below)
He says '1,2,3' but is actually pressing 1,3,5. Also, the mode to use a letter or a number may be confusing AND on my Polycom VVX400, only an asterisk is displayed so you don't see what you are actually typing. Mode 1->Aa gives you numbers only so is helpful but the other modes cycle through characters then does the number last.

Apart from the fact that you say to press 1,2,3 but it was quite apparent that you were pressing 1,3,5 This video did help me reset our VVX300 handsets
I'm technical support for 8x8 and we do a LOT of factory resets of third party devices. When it comes time to enter a mac password or mac address customers get so frustrated because the display in encrypted so this is a HUGE help. I've actually got a customer on the line as I type this using this to work out a factory reset on a VVX 300. Thanks for sharing!
I've done the reset twice on a polycom VVX 500 and still can't login to the web interface using the default 456 admin password.... Phone works I just can't log in to hard code it.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS : Enter the Old Password, 456, NEW Password any number you want confirm this number and PRESS ENTER IN THE END FOR ALL 3 INPUTS
