I own a 2001 Excursion Limited, V10, 6.8L, 2-Valve. It currently had 254K miles on it a runs like'a Georgia-Peach! That thing loves the open road. Having said that, it is 22 years old as is, therefore prone to having at least some issues. Yes, 3 weeks ago for the first time, the overdrive light was flashing (no engine service light though), and it started "jerking" as if it was shifting on its own. I was very worried. Then it went away, but came back this afternoon on the way back from the beach.. So im gonna continue listening to your vid and hopefully it will help. Thnx.
Yeah, I am going to do a short video on the other thing I forgot to put in that video. The reason why the service engine light comes on is because I think that same fuse handles the emissions system. So, one other symptom I noticed is that when that fuse blows, I get a heavy burnt gas fume smell in from the tail pipe.
Bro.....thank you soooooo much for the info....mine is a 2000 Excursion Limited 4x4; had the pouring of tranny fluid after about 50 miles one; it was a very very hot day and I just made it to my daughters house. Was 'terrified' that the tranny had gone out because when I put it in reverse to back in the driveway, it was slipping like crazy. I was so discourage that I decide not to even look at til the next day. So the next day I decided to check the fluid and of course it was low. So I added fluid and when around the block....still a bit uncomfortable but it change gears without issue. But reverse was still a bit sketchy. I had to get it back to the house....so I took the chance and drove it 50 mile back to the house. Made it without issue...when backing it in...reverse was still a bit sketchy....so now I got to check your recommendations. Thanks for the info.
I have a 2000 f150 5.4L. I've been underneath it all day looking and checking connectors and wiring. I never thought about checking the fuses. Thanks man. I'll give it a look
Thank you for information, but damn man, that was the most painful 20 minutes and 43 seconds of my life! Lol It's like those videos on Facebook where they have some kind of experiment like smoking an egg with a glass bulb and 500 matches and all you can see is the guys hands and the experiment and 45 minutes later after you're ready to kill the guy because he done killed the damn dead horse, he lifts the bulb, the smoke clears, and the egg is burnt to sh*t and you just realized that you just wasted 45 painful minutes you'll never get back. Kinda like this comment; I could have stopped at "damn man" and everyone would have known what I was referencing to. LOL I was panicking about my truck but now I know its electrical, because my front drive line which is disconnected from the transfer case ( prior owner) due to a 3rd member issue, looks to have grabbed the cluster of wires on the frame rail and severed 7 or 8 of them.
LOL! 🤣 Yeah, I realize that I talk a lot. But I want to be sure people understand the symptoms. If they are not the same, then this will not work. Did not want it to look like click bait then people say I am a fraud. So, you have all the details I have. Also, it will teach others how to troubleshoot other problems. Lastly, I hope people get that your mechanic is not always right or trying to do you wrong, it's just that these things have so many mechanical and electrical items that you have to get a second opinion or learn how to do it yourself. So, I both give you the fish and teach you how to at the same time. Hopefully it worked out well for you.
Thank you so much !!! I was so sad yesterday my 2000 navigator went into limp mode and I thought my transmission gave out after I just replaced it months ago 😭this fuse saved me so thank you !
Just ran across your video and I've got these codes all at once, so I'm going to troubleshoot and check the fuses first. I hope it's only a fuse! I'm a frustrated female new at repairing my own vehicle repairs on my 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT.💅🏼😏
Great Video! I have a 2000 EX, 7.3, 410,000 miles. Its slipping when first accelerating and overdrive light is flashing. Codes are p1832 and p1876. Any thoughts on what I should check? Thank you!!!
Thanks I believe I did same thing other day I got new battery and something grounded off it worked fine then all sudden problems I'm check RightNow thanks
Do you know what fuse it is if it's on a 2002 excursion doing the same thing, unfortunately I've already put in a new transmission and it's still doing it.
This happened to me just today. With my 2002 Ford Mustang. It was raining, really bad and all O/D Overdrive. Was. flashing? And every time I hit the gas, the car won't even move, it tries to move, but it Goes into every year perfectly.
@@JoseMedina-hs9st huh, how is that possible? I thought you said you were low on fluid so you just added some. The first comment you posted you should go back and edit it for those of us that read comments. It's really hard to understand.
This is happening to my 2001 2WD F150. will it be the same solution? Yesterday was fine it just did that problem right now after driving it down the street for about 1/4 of a mile.
Like I said in the vid, this will not fix all issues. If you have the same symptoms, then it might fix it but it is a least expensive of all. Also, the fuse location will not be the same on your truck as it is on mine so make sure you look for the right location of the fuse. Also, it may not just be the fuse. Make sure you have the diagnostic machine I mentioned. If you are getting these codes just out of the clear blue when your truck was running fine, then i would troubleshoot the electronics first before spending a major bit of money tracking it. Also take a look at my other video if you are getting the solenoid error.
If you take a look at the video the fuse has a very cryptic title on it. I am sure it handles the transmission electronics but I think it also controls the O2 sensor. When it blows, I smell a strong exhaust fume.
Try it out and see if it works. Pretty quick test. Just make sure you have the right fuse location. They are not the same even on the same type of SUV a year later.

I don't understand this comment at all. What was your fix?
@@verinb9 the problem was that the transmission was low on transmission fluid
