Simple and Effective Bass Presets in Hive 2 | Sound Design Tutorial

  • When we're writing music, sometimes we need a quick and good sounding bass to continue working. Using u-he Hive 2 here is a few quick tips to get a great bass, whether is a house bass, a bass arp, bass pluck, or a clean sustained bass.
    These techniques can be used in any synth however. I personally like making this preset in Hive 2 as I like the results!

    Great tutorial as always Jon!
    One thing I try to do when I verb a bass and I normally do this on a send cut out the lows before and I'll generally throw a gate there as well to get a gated reverb.
    Also also do this for percussive elements, gives an almost Phil Collins feel to them.

      @jonaudio yeah I also find that a gated verb also means you don't get any unwanted reverb tails.

    Love making some basses in Hive 2. I am thinking of getting Zebra legacy and seeing what I can cook up in that bad boy.

      Zebra legacy is a lot of fun!! Zebra is also pretty good on cpu and sounds great!
