- When we're writing music, sometimes we need a quick and good sounding bass to continue working. Using u-he Hive 2 here is a few quick tips to get a great bass, whether is a house bass, a bass arp, bass pluck, or a clean sustained bass.
These techniques can be used in any synth however. I personally like making this preset in Hive 2 as I like the results!

Thank you so much 🙏🙏 that's awesome to hear!
Wow thats crazy was watching your playlist last night on HIVE
Hell yeah!! Hive is awesome! And with the low cpu usage, really makes it even better
Great tutorial as always Jon!
One thing I try to do when I verb a bass and I normally do this on a send cut out the lows before and I'll generally throw a gate there as well to get a gated reverb.
Also also do this for percussive elements, gives an almost Phil Collins feel to them.
That's a great technique right there! It def gives the instruments a space to live in ya know?
@jonaudio yeah I also find that a gated verb also means you don't get any unwanted reverb tails.
Love making some basses in Hive 2. I am thinking of getting Zebra legacy and seeing what I can cook up in that bad boy.
Zebra legacy is a lot of fun!! Zebra is also pretty good on cpu and sounds great!
I seen you have a few vids on it. I will watch and then make a choice. hahahaha.
Yep, did a full course on zebra hz 🤙🤙
Love Hive, thank you for this…. Wait? You have a playlist?
I sure do! There's still a few parts that will be added to it soon
