Great video analysis of your mechanical inefficiencies and how you are attacking them
Stay stacked and maybe lean, yes. It will never work though if you lean and try to stay stacked though. Thanks for the vid Roman, they don't see the little things that become big things & make you a winner in spring.
ur the goat bigbug
in regards to your block, ive noticed that in the earlier vids you show where it is not as efficient (as you say), your front foot plants at about 11:00 vs 12-1, leading to knee leaking out and losing energy. while not the cause of the issue, it looked like it was a symptom of your body trying to compensate for your hip rotation being late, which would've led me to the pushy back foot. at least that's how I would've traced it back up the chain lol. crazy how in baseball there's a million ways to approach different aspects. this is why i love it lol. great work!
What's the fix for late hip rotation?
Roman good luck this season. We are looking to your comeback and great success. GO COCKS !!
Great content with mechanics!
Can’t wait, let’s go.
Do you have any cues for staying in your back side and staying in your heel? Kinda looks like your body wants to disconnect and put the weight on your toes/quad as you drop
my thought really isn't to be in my eel or my toes but rather the whole foot, but I end up putting too much pressure on my back foot which I think is what leads to the push
have you tried hooking the rubber or even rotating your toes outward at like a slight 45 angle. could help clean up the back foot problems you were talking about
that would actually make things worse, could offset the pelvis and have me working across my body, changing anything in the foot would make it worse honestly, it’s a full lower half issue, not just a foot issue
makes sense. offsetting the pelvis can make it harder to rotate into foot strike. now your sequencing is off. kinda throws off the whole chain reaction @@RomanKimball
@@boog7032 correct, and my foot strike is already late so it wouldn’t make sense to tilt my foot haha
What would u say the minimum fastball velo is to play D1?
90
depends man, there r guys who throw 88 with good metrics who are very good in D1
Thanks Roman!! Good luck this year
depends on how good your secondary pitches are, command ect but minimum probably 87-90 fastball..top guys will sit 92-96
What are your go to lifts that helped you get to where you are today? Also what are your mental cues to help rotate more without being as tight with the movement?
don’t really have any go tos, just do whatever our strength coach gives us, it’s all individualized tho, and i don’t really have any mental cues for that, i’d say that’s more of a body issue than a mental issue what ur talking about
What is the thing on his ear?
do u got any tips for not enough drift? im similar to you where I try to stay tall at all the way through leg lift but I drop pretty aggressively in the back side without getting that drift, then my pelvis is somewhat uphill during the load phase. any cues for you to get moving towards the plate during leg lift?
i basically get into the back side early
for sure! i have a video on my tiktok i will send the link to for a drill that i used to help me with this problem!
