    A really great demonstration showing multiple techniques. Thankyou. I’ve had a dozen of these for months and I loved the texture, colours and glimmer, but was very limited in my application of them. Now I have so many more reasons to play with them..... and purchase more! Thanks heaps!

    The mousse are gorgeous. I can hardly wait to order my favorite colors! One thing I would suggest though when showing each piece after the demo, make sure each piece is picked up and tilted so it catches the light. They have the beautiful mica in them but only a couple were showcased to show off the mica. Thanks for the tutorial. I very much enjoyed it.

    I LOVE mine!! I have 6 colors and just ordered 5 more. I made sprays for each, used my finger, have used stencils as, used as water color, and dry brushing so far. I've applied to paper, canvas, metal, card stock so far.

    I purchased a few and only used them once to see the color. They dried up hard after. Nuvo sent me another set because they said the packaging was faulty but it was the same packaging. Great company. I love Tonic / Nuvo but I hope they fix the problem.

      Gilder's paste wax has the same issue with drying up but can be reactivated with mineral spirits since it's paraffin wax based. Have you tried reactivating the Nuvo mousse with distilled water (since it's water based) or covering the paste with plastic cling wrap when you're done. I've had good success with my Gilder's paste by making sure it's air tight. I bought some mousse and will be making it air tight after use.

    If you leave that silver seal on the mousse & just lift it up enough to get to it comfortably, & then cover back up before sealing the lid, it will not dry out as fast. FYI

    I specifically watched this video in order to learn more about the colors. It would have been nice if the Tonic rep would have given us the name of each color she used - instead of this gold or this beautiful teal or hot pink.

    What is the dry time? Does it smudge off after applying it-Do you have to set it so it doesn’t come off?

    • @scrapbook
      @scrapbook  6 лет назад +2

      It dries fairly quickly and once it dries I haven't had issues with it rubbing off or smudging. You can heat set it to speed up the drying time. Because it dries quickly you have to clean your stencils quickly as well.

  • @jooc2751
    @jooc2751 6 лет назад

    It doesn't seem to have much pigment. The results are patchy at best. Is it gilding polish, which you can do most of these techniques with or something else? I'm confused. I've also heard so many people say it dries out very quickly? What is the main draw for this product? I love tonic Nuvo products usually but this one has me stumped. I've watched quite a few demonstrations & they all leave me feeling the same. Seeing each technique used to complete a project would help a lot more.

    What do you do when it dries out? I mean, they’re GORGEOUS when fresh, but after a couple of months closed up in my drawer, it turns into very shiny powder. Water kind of works, but I’m sure there’s a better way.

      I just watched this video and it helped me realize my old mousses that I just almost threw away are still usable. I opened them earlier and they seemed like they were dried out and no longer good, but after applying one to a stencil with a spatula and rubbing it in, it came out just fine. And these are from over a year ago. About to order some new colors but will use these up now. I assumed they were supposed to be softer and more "mousse-like" but actually think I was mistaken. I really love this product so am happy to rediscover them and start some crafting after a long hiatus.

    • @scrapbook
      @scrapbook  4 года назад

      Hello! We're sorry to hear you've had a problem with your Nuvo mousse. These products are water-based so you can actually add a small amount of either distilled or cooled boiled water to the mousse and allow it to absorb to rejuvenate them. You can repeat as necessary to get the consistency you require. Hope this helps!

      I just mentioned this in another comment but I just watched this video, and it made me realize that my old mousses that I almost threw away are still usable. I opened them earlier today and they seemed like they were dried out and no longer good, but after applying one to a stencil with a spatula and rubbing it in, it came out just fine. I really love this product so am happy to rediscover them and start some crafting after a long hiatus. The results are really beautiful. One thing I would do is keep the foil seal for when you close the jars back up and minimize exposure to air while using them.

    Was the heart and flower example embossing powder black? Or premade design stamped, etc...

    • @scrapbook
      @scrapbook  7 лет назад

      You could totally stamp and emboss with black embossing powder to get the same effect. This image was a pre-stamped design with ink that is waterproof. To get the image that dark, it was stamped more than once using the Stamp Platform. Thanks for watching.

    How do you clean your brush?

    • @scrapbook

      I use a gentle soap like Dawn to clean my brushes and rinse them really well. There are brush cleaners on the market that would work as well.

    But there are so many less expensive mediums to do this effect, & save the mousse for what was intended. It is so pretty with a 3- D effect. Just saying.

  • @quigleymp
    @quigleymp 7 лет назад +3

    i like what you do show on how to use the mousse but as a lay crafter I would love to see you complete projects after using the mousse. I don't for example know what to do with the balsa wood after you put on the mousse. You say you would continue with your techniques on the wood but don't show an example. I cannot buy these products without more demonstration on how to finish. Patty

      Patty, I agree totally. I don’t know why some craft manufacturers don’t put examples, instructions, finished products, and tons of videos showing how to use to the nth degree!!! I have so many crafts where I get it home and it’s not clear how to use it or what I can do with it! They just don’t know how to market their own products. Sometimes it is so bad it is ridiculous. And they wonder why the product is not more popular. Duh. Videos like this are good but I agree, more (a lot more) is needed!!!! I mean, okay, you can do hombre, but then what the heck do you do with that? How do you use it, all the way to the end??? Only a tiny percentage of us are trained artists, and they usually don’t need videos to figure things out. So come on, companies. Get a clue. This is frustrating and expensive for us!

      Scrapbook.com is a primarily papercrafting store. (And a great one at that).I don’t know why u and the name should be unhappy bidr are getting so nasty with them for. Obviously if u looked at the name of the product u would see it is not scrapbook.com. There are tons of videos on the product on utube. You just type in the name and hit return. Not that difficult. They just put quick little videos in their store that give u an idea what the product is,not tutorials . Either go to the manufacturer’s website or do a utube search and stop bashing people online, especially when u don’t know what u r talking about. Try being nice! What a concept!

    I am SO disappointed in this product. I have 12 jars that have completely dried out. As crafter's, we spend a lot of money on products and I feel as though I've burned my hard earned cash in a barrel. At this time, I've placed "press and seal" ver the tops in hopes they will soften up. I am truly truly disappointed won't purchase these AGAIN!

      I just watched a video where this happened to some one else. She called the company and they replaced her product. When they first came out the company used a cardboard seal and it soaked the water in now the company uses a foam type. So it's company error. Good luck

    Will the mousse wash out if you wash the lace?
