Honestly I think the anime version has more detail. The blinking, the hair bobbing when the press slams against the ground, and when his face turns purple you can see his shoulders rise and fall as if he's breathing heavily
I realized that in the game alter ego has brown eyes but in the anime he has hazel eyes I honestly like it because it makes the anime execution art style nice and not too exaggerated

I like the closeup shot in the anime more. His face looks more desperate with the harder shadows and the hair shaking is a nice effect. I like the game version better overall though since like the flat pop-up book look and I find the anime's animation kinda weird. Also he clutches his pants more in the game; in the anime it looks like his hands are just resting on his lap.
To be fair, the slammer seems more scary in the anime, his hair is bouncing, which means it's slamming down so hard its making him sort of jump with it
I feel like Makoto looks angrier in the anime version. In the game he looks more scared, while in the anime he looks pissed that he's getting wrongly executed (which is understandable too ahah)
he has the same expression as in the game, its just the harsher shadows in the anime make his frown and eyebrows pop out more, making him look more angry
I interpreted it more like in the game he's scared, but he has complete and utter faith in Kirigiri and her reasons for shifting things onto him in the first place, and the fact that she would lead everyone else to safety and save them. That's why he didn't look too scared or anything but that's really only my own interpretation.
ok but like no ones gunna talk about the fact that monokuma was litarally teaching sex ed, and that at 0:55 he starts off looking down, looks up, and then his face turns red.
it is actually because japanese students are very respectful to the rules from school, and since this is an "after school detention", and makoto was a high schooler at that moment, he had to go according to the rules of not leaving since it is very strict and you cant really do anything when you are in detention.
