The funniest part of the Ginyu Force parodies is how much of it comes straight from the goddamn show.
A lot of Dragon Ball even feels like a parody when rewatching it. But then you have to remember, Toriyama's editors told him to make his show more serious for a larger audience. The original Dragon Ball was meant to be goofy and fun, and you can see it in the beginning chapters of the manga. Heck, they play Old Maid Poker in the series and Goku shoves his stick up someone's butt and sends rabbits to the moon to make mochi.
"...with a goddamn pig!"😀 But yes, the Ginyu Force are weird. A super sentai squad in the service of a true tyrant is a strange sight
@@LycanFerret Toriyama is a comedy writer. All of his series besides Dragon Ball are almost purely comedy. The fact that he's even as serious as he is in the later parts of the Dragon Ball manga for the stuff that got adapted into DBZ is honestly impressive.

@@vigo2669 Yeah, Tao Pai Pai killed him. First great villain in the series. Funny thing is that Toriyama forgot about the character and when he was asked about him in an interview years laters , he was clueless for a minute until he remembered saying: "oh the ponytail one?".
So the funniest thing about friezas ringtone is.... It is an actual song made by Maximum the Hormone ( one of their songs was also used as the theme song for Death Note)
Akira Toriyama credits this song for inspiring both the concept and title of the film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’. It is featured in both a promotional trailer and in the film itself as an insert song.
To add to this, the second opening AND ending of Death Note are both Maximum the Hormone songs, from the same album too.

Stardust Crusaders actually had an anime in 1993 before the newest reboot. They skipped the whole Egypt saga though. THat's not including the fighting video game, which actually gave this move to Dio.

There are more then 4 of them
The real reason is that the 4 star dragonball has the most importance in the story of Dragonball. It's the dragonball that Grandpa Gohan had that was passed down to Goku and starts off the very beginning of the original show, causing Bulma and Goku to meet. The 4 star ball continues to have important significance to Goku and his family throughout the entire series, for example when Gohan finds a dragonball and steals it from Vegeta a few episodes ago, it was the 4 star dragonball.
Yeah. They took the 4 star dragonball because it has story significance, as it is the dragon ball that Goku inherited from his grandpa in the original dragonball and the one that Gohan wore on his hat in early DBZ.
Wasn't the writing team just 4 of them? Kaiser, Lani, Taka, and Vegeta?

Also, TFS got referenced In Jojo’s when Mannish Boy says “crap baskets” in the English dub. The creators asked sometime later and it was confirmed that the crap baskets line was a reference to dbza.
Tatoo’d teenage alien fighters from Beverly Hills is sadly a real show. I forget if a friend was knowledgable of it or they were looking for the most painfully 90’s show they could find. And needless to say if it’s the latter, you DEFINITELY have your winner there. They showed a small clip in their analysis and I felt my soul drain as I realized someone not only thought it was a good idea, but wrote a story, employed a staff, and gave it the fitting 90’s theme song to match. Up until that point I thought they just threw words together to make a convincing 90’s title for the joke. You can look it up, but don’t blame me if your brain melts on contact.

I used to watch power rangers when I was like 11 and so I watched ALL of those shows on TV LMAO. Tatooed teenage alien fighters form beverly hills was so strange, that and the ultra man bastardization where he becomes ultra man in virtual reality and activates it by strumming a guitar next to his computer!

And yes, Gridman would go into electronics too. When they weren't using the guitar transformation, they used the original Gridman transformation pose.

DBZ Kai is basically a remastered version of the original Dragon Ball Z anime series, with remastered graphics and audio mixing, as well as a significant reduction in anime filler content. It aired from 2009 to early-mid 2010s. Anyway, the full song "Sanjou!! Ginyu Tokusentai!!" can be found on RUclips.

The problem with the joke is that it's really confusing and not funny... Like, what just happened? Was she just dreaming? It's really unclear, especially with Vegeta actually being there for the Dragon Ball in the scene...

@@Feedback72 Don't think they ever said it wasn't funny, Scott just said he wasn't proud of it, if you don't find it funny its fair, its why the scene after is there. To me it was always a "edgy joke" followed by a funny one and kinda foreshadowing that Bulma does have an interest in Vegeta...even if at this point in the story to her, he is a monster who would try to this to her

I assume their called team four star because of the 4 star dragon ball being an integral momento in goku's family, the 4 star ball was last thing he got from grandpa gohan, and that same 4 star ball was he gave to his _son_ gohan when he was very young, he used to wear it on his head as you might remember.

So there’s technically 3 main members/writers that make up Team Four Star, they came up with the name as a joke that they’re not exactly 5 stars but they are a 4 star production, and Goku was in possession of the 4 star ball at the start of Dragon Ball so it’s significant to the fandom.
as to why TFS named themselves TFS... not EXACTLY like T3S's origin story. Nothing to do with "3 of us on the team/the dragonballs have stars on them," but instead that "the 4-star ball has special sentiment to the show, and is slightly more important than any of the others.
