The aviable recording of this legendary performance was quite poor. I was dreamming about such a discovery. Here you heard a correct Pleyel bass harpsichord sound with gorgeous NYPSO ! Thanks !
@@MarchantTapeArchive Do you know if there are some NBC Symphony Orchestra broadcasts with Toscanini ? The sound question and acetate sources are always a very big discussion. It could be great to hear some of them from your collection, if Mr Marchant recorded them, to have a new "sound of view".
Thanks for listening! I hope I have them but I’m not sure - I have a large archive and I’m going through tape by tape and immediately posting whatever sounds good enough. Stay tuned!
Increadible ! Many thanks!

So happy to have found the recording! Please share widely so others can hear it!

I’m not sure - I still have about 150 tapes to go through. Maybe/hopefully!
The final sound is improved if you reduce the bass.
I ran a high pass filter that significantly reduced frequencies below around 160Hz but maybe that wasn't enough!
SUPER FANTASTIC!!!! Many thanks! Do you have the Bach and Carpenter pieces that complete the concert?
