Excellent sound effects that you apparently added... and you ran the train at scale speeds.. which makes it so much better. Many videos on here show subway and the M-7 trains running at 70-80 mph around sharp curves. Also, excellent job on the station. Something that I was to model as well. You are an inspiration.. good job all around.
This video is awesome! Great camera and sound work. I bought three of these LIRR 175th anniversary sets and three sets of add on cars, My sets are sealed because I planned to use one for my son when he gets older and 2 for re-sale. Since I can't play with mine it was really great to see them in action on your video--Thanks for sharing.
@fsxlover1 Thank you, I deliberatively made the video shorter.... I agree about the tour of the layout, so I will be uploading another video showing a full view of it.
You've done a great job on that layout. BTW, how tight are your curves? I'm thinking of getting one of the new M7 Lionchief sets but I use MTH RealTraxx and all my curves are O-31. I don't know whether this train can negotiate curves that tight.
I've become very interested in this set (LIRR) as well as the Metro North set and that's because of this video which caused me to search for other M7 videos so thanks! I want both sets with enough add-on sets to make 6-8 car trains. My only regret is that Lionel didn't do directional lighting with either set (I don't think, definitely not on the Metro North set) as they brilliantly did with their NYCTA subway sets (I have the R-30). Did they do that with this set? I thought that I saw red marker lights on the last car, or did you wire that in? Please do another LONGER video not cutting away from the trains too quickly next time. Great layout with awesome scenery. Good job!
santiagop23 Oh ok. You have a really cool layout! It's a shame Lionel didn't include all of the features the real M7 has. There should be two windows at the end instead of one. And yes, the subway club is fun. Thanks for watching!
santiagop23 I was just looking on the O-guage forums at your modified R142A set. You did a nice job! Where did you get the interior LED and red LED lights from?
santiago, I see your a NYC train fan, you'd probably enjoy the "O Scale New York" group on facebook, its all NYC modeling. over 700 members, Share you interests there.
@fsxlover1 I just uploaded a new video where you will be able to see a full view of the layout as well as some still shots.... hope you like it...oh it's towards the end of the video
Housatonic RR Fan Unfortunately for us no, and no one has take that challenge either. I did pose the question to Rapido up in Canada some months ago, and they much to their credit were open and friendly and didn't BS me at all. Sadly, they wouldn't be able to jump on this right away, but did seem open to it. Good people up there...
Wow......I should Buy it because it did not get stuck. I should get it right now!
Really nicely done!

Really nice impression of the modern LIRR. May I suggest some scale urine smell drops for the edges of the platforms?
Love to see a current view of your layout! Great models!
Very good especially the Lynbrook station. You got your train at Trainland. I got my M7 at Nassau Hobby. Also Lionel is reissuing the LIRR M7s.
As a long time Long Islander…I approve!!!! Wow!
It was fun watching this video! So much crammed into a few minutes!
Really impressed with the filming. The best I've seen of a train set. Very professional!

How do you work in delays and equipment problems, typical of the LIRR ?

Did anyone hear that the new Grand Central Madison Terminal is now open for business for the Long Island Railroad

Great detail! what track system do you use?
@MrDeztheman The sounds are part of the video sound effects, this set did not come with railsounds, just a horn; no bell.
Nice layout! Where did you get the station lamps and "Watch the Gap" sign?
they were all scratch built. I like what you guys are doing with the subway club, seems like you are having fun.

Cool but I think u need to get the de30ac!
How did you make back lights
I just have one question, how did you make the platform? I own the lirr m7 set and it is amazing, I just wanted to add my realism. Thank you so much!
@AirlinerJockey Thank you, it was actually a Canon 7D
@yardlet6 Thank you!, I got it at grand central
Hey you should do one for Metro North but nice layout!
@esiegel76 Thank you Eric! it means a lot coming from a pro like you
