The CRAZIEST thing is that MJ was such a perfectionist that he was never completely satisfied any of his work. He’d say that usually when he listened to his music, he’d hear everything that wasn’t there, that should be there.
He also did the same after his concerts, he’d sit down after his concerts and watch the whole footage in his hotel room looking for nothing but mistakes to make sure he wouldn’t do them again. What a perfectionist..🐐
Probably because of his father who would beat him at ANY mistake and it was never good enough, it's okay to want to do better but he should have known that no one is perfect all the time and that it is okay. I'd say it's quite unhealthy.
@@luana45393 I think a huge part of it was his father. But MJ a voracious reader and studier of the greats. Over time, he would adopt their techniques. For example, Quincy Jones was known to make the artist do the dame thing over and over, like 100 times. But MJ liked that because it brought the best in them.
"Another Part of Me" is also from the "Michael Jackson Captain EO" movie/3D amusement park ride at Disneyland. Captain EO was so successful that Disney created Epcot Center and started adding more movie rides like "Honey I Strunk the Kids" and all the other movie rides created later.
That's right. "Leave Me Alone" was one of the songs that did not make it onto the final version of the album. The "Leave Me Alone" video aired as a separate entity and won a Grammy in 1990 for Best Music Video, Short Form, which is the only Grammy Award Michael received for the album Bad. (Such a shame!) "Leave Me Alone" video also won the Cannes Gold Lion Award for Best Special Effects. Huge MJ fan here :)))))
@_l_i_h_4085 Yes, the Bad album was released in 1987 with the CD version having the song Leave Me Alone, that went on to be released as a single in 1989, love the song and the video.
Another Part Of Me was actually first released as part of a disney short film called Captain EO (1986) which stars Michael as the main character! That and another song called We Are Here To Change The World! You should watch it, would love a reaction actually!
Captain EO at Disney was so amazing. Another Part of Me was the song that played at the end while the credits were rolling. I would always walk out as slowly as possible to hear as much of the song as I could. It was almost shocking to me that people could actually walk out of the room while this song was jamming through the theater system.
Siedah Garett singing on IJCSLY also wrote man in the mirror. Stevie Wonder singing on Just good friends wrote the wonderful I can't help it on adult MJ's first solo album Off the wall. I got MJ's catalog engraved in my ears, but it's really nice to see more people still discovering all the many colors of His music. 🤟👍
I think you should do Off the Wall next. Then you will have listened to all of his albums from the Michael Jackson/Quincy Jones era before moving forward. Dangerous is a sharp departure in sound. Classic album, but different producers and very different sound. I'm enjoying these reactions!
In regards to "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", Siedah Garret is also singing throughout the song. They pretty much have an equal amount of lines and they harmonise the chorus together. Her cadence is very similar to his in this song and a lot of people aren't able to distinguish it upon first listen but if you listen again closely, you'll notice that there are indeed two different voices.
Bad definitely has a story and it makes more sense when you watch the music video and it's based on a true story, we NEED a reaction to the Bad music video (aka short films like Michael liked to call them), hell all of them lol
Let's go with chronological order: "Dangerous 1991" is the next album. Please check out Dangerous; I'd love to see your take on this album, because Dangerous was very creative and experimental album in MJ catalog. Also, it is a personal favorite among Michael Jackson fans. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the "Dangerous' album. Love your genuine reactions :)
Fun fact: Siedah Garrett, the one who sang with Michael on I Just Can't Stop Loving You, actually wrote the lyrics for Man In The Mirror and also another one from his next album Dangerous!
I think Leave Me Alone was a bonus track for the album, that's probably why you feel like it sounds weird as an outro cause originally the last song was supposed to be Smooth Criminal. And I'm also pretty sure Smooth Criminal was supposed to be the name of the album at first so that's probably why it was the last song (if it wasn't for Leave Me Alone).
great reaction! also to explain dirty diana, thats a song michael wrote because groupies are people hes dealt with his entire life since he was like 10 in the jackson 5. its about the type of girls who wait around shows and try to sleep with musicians. and This one is named Diana. shes trying to get him to sleep with her and he refuses. but ultimately in the end, he gives in and goes home with her.
