A couple things: 1. The guitar solo on Beat It actually IS talked about a lot, and is really famous. It's by Eddie Van Halen. 2. On another note, everyone talks about the guitar solo in Beat It! It was performed by Eddie Van Halen, one of the best (if not the best) guitarists in history, who revolutionized electric guitar playing with his techniques. Was in the Spike Lee docu about Off The Wall: ruclips.net/video/QXOn3N_Xn_I/видео.html. I don't want to offend The Weekend or his fans, listen to him myself on a regular basis, but MJ is simply something else in every way, arguably the best performer that has ever lived. Check out his Wembley concert from the Bad tour if you need any proof. Also: MJ is lower on streams because most of his fans have bought and still buy physical media (vinyl, cd's, et cetera). Still the highest earning dead artist to this day. That, plus there is Thriller 25, Thriller 40, et cetera on Spotify, each with the same songs and 'their own' streaming amounts. You have to put those numbers together for more exact streaming numbers. Then again: appreciated your review, great to see how younger generations are still in awe of this masterpiece. Off The Wall is, arguably, even better.
Excellent reaction man. Thanks for listening to my fav artist of all time. You definitely have to react to his live performances particularly at Wembley in 1988. Let’s go!

In Wanna Be Startin Somethin he didn't admit being the father, he literally said "Billie Jean is always talkin When nobody else is talkin Telling lies and rubbin shoulders So they called her mouth a motor"😂😂
@@YourLocalMelomaniac Little bit of advice: start with Off The Wall or even Destiny by the Jacksons. That's where Michael started to develop as the artist he eventuelly turned out to be. I love HIStory big time (there's even a feature by Biggie on it), might be my favorite album also, but if you're relatively new to MJ, start with his earlier material to understand him more for the soul and R&B singer he always was and to see how he developed into the most all round artist the world has ever seen.
The ending of Wanna Be Startin something has been sampled a lot and is super recognizable, the most popular samples is probably in Don't Stop The Music by Rihanna.
This was a great video! Are you planning on checking out more of his albums? You can either start going with them chronologically (which would mean that maybe you should do Off The Wall, then go to BAD), or maybe just do any of his albums(i would recommend Dangerous or HIStory)
Thank you!!! And yes I’ll definitely be checking out more albums, not sure the order I’ll go in yet tbh! I might post community polls and do it that way or something 😂😂 Thanks for watching!! 💯💯
The guitar riff was Eddie Van halen of the group Van halen. The riff was very popular, it was the most popular part of the song. I know everything about Michael, I lived the Thriller era
It’s interesting that you love the weeknd and haven’t listened to an MJ record before!! I feel like the weeknd definitely got some inspiration from mike… MJ is one of my favorite artists of all time even though he passed away when I was 8. It always fun to see people discover his music besides the classic hits :)
I love Thriller and MJ so much!! It sounds so timeless and you have always something to listen to. And knowing that Toto participated on this album makes it even better
Loved it ❤ One information about "Beat It" and that solo: Considering the game-changing impact the song had on popular culture, Eddie Van Halen says in 2011 that "Beat It" is his favorite collaboration. Eddie Van Halen blazing guitar solo lasted all of 20 seconds and took half an hour to record. He did it for free, as a favor to producer Quincy Jones, while the rest of his Van Halen bandmates were out of town. "I said to myself, 'Who is going to know that I played on this kid's record, right? Nobody's going to find out'. Wrong!" he laughs. "Big-time wrong. It ended up being Record of the Year." Eddie Van Halen concluded Michael was a musical genius with this childlike innocence. "He was such a professional, and such a sweetheart." 💕
Dude! The whole world pressed the pause button when Thriller premiered in MTV. Watch the video!! The original had Michael’s disclaimer at the start saying he did not believe in the occult and did this just for fun.
Beautiful album! You did a fantastic job reacting to such an iconic playlist. Would love to hear you react to the 1992 album, House of Pain by House of Pain!! Jump Around is my jam lol
I love 💕💕 thriller MJ was sooooooooo unique and genius through his life time, always been loved by the world 🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎 even today 2024 MJ forever KING OF POP forever continue to shine and rest in perfect peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️✌️✌️✌️✌️❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You mentioned how crisp Thriller sounds, it basically set recording standards for popular music since. He had his sound engineer 100 times to get it right. There's a whole Bruce Swedein documentary about the process called Sonic Fantasy.
Vincent Price is the narrator on Thriller, he is an actor who was in a few horror movies Bad was the follow up to Thriller. Eddie Van Halen played on Beat It. And everyone talked about it at the time.
VINCENT PRICE btw. you are correct, he is an actor, that played on alot of Black/White Horror films My favorite Michael Jackson song on The History album, it's called Money.
Its funny to me how you didnt expect Paul to sing on The Girl Is Mine cuz I also had the same reaction when I heard Say Say Say. Even being fairly familiar with both artists I had never heard MJ sing with Paul McCartney in such a direct manner. Between artists like that the collaboration is usually limited to something subtle like a light chorus or something. So it was so unexpected hearing them sing their own full sections in the same song. I never would’ve guessed they made music together.
Hey man. I’m a big MJ fan. I discovered your channel thanks to this video and it makes me happy that his music still touches and can be discovered by new generations. I would obviously recommend you listening and reacting to all of his albums. Funny enough, he only ever made 7, so sadly not that many. As a lyricist, his best and most personal one would be HIStory. That dropped after all the scandals and he expressed all of his emotions and conflicts on that particular album. Maybe once you done them all, you could watch and review the documentary movie ‘This is it’ that captures his last rehearsals for a comback tour that never was. His attention to details and passion for music are beyond any other pop artist of his or any generation. Keep the good work! A fan and supporter from Spain.
I was 5 when thriller came out … was my first vinyl … I used it in the turntable… Thriller is The masterpiece of all the time … in 2000 years people will still listen to it… they killed MJ but his legacy is eternal!
My top 10 fav MJ songs: Billie Jean, They don’t care about us, Earth Song, Smooth Criminal, Who is it, Human Nature, Stranger in Moscow, Man in the mirror, You are not alone, wanna be startin somethin, jam, remember the time, will you be there, black or white
The ending to "Wanna Be Startin' Something'" that you mention in 10:30 is probably familiar to you because it is referenced by Rihanna in her song "Don't Stop The Music".
oh also bad was released after this album so him saying bad is like a teaser to his next album! also little fun fact i met Jennifer baton Michael Jackson's lead guitarist on every show on his tour was surreal having a chat with someone who spent so much time with MJ
I’m so jealous because this is your first experience w thriller album. I would like to experience that feeling again but i cant 💔 i was 11 years old when i found thriller out and still in love. LEGENDARY.
Also the bass line in the thriller was sampled from Rick James’ “Give It To Me.” It was cut, recommend giving it a listen and you can hear the direct correlation
Loved your reaction. If you like a good guitar solo, Eddie Van Halen on Beat It is the most famous/iconic one, but there are other great ones. Steve Stevens on Dirty Diana, Slash on Give in to Me and Michael Thompson on Privacy. Maybe you could also react to those if you haven't done so already?

Bettt, definitely on the list!!
@@YourLocalMelomaniac Little bit of advice: start with Off The Wall or even Destiny by the Jacksons. That's where Michael started to develop as the artist he eventuelly turned out to be. I love HIStory big time (there's even a feature by Biggie on it), might be my favorite album also, but if you're relatively new to MJ, start with his earlier material to understand him more for the soul and R&B singer he always was and to see how he developed into the most all round artist the world has ever seen.
my favourite is dangerous
The ending of Wanna Be Startin something has been sampled a lot and is super recognizable, the most popular samples is probably in Don't Stop The Music by Rihanna.
Yeah I never noticed that!! 🔥🔥
Mj also sampled that ending as well
@@mjlivetv8065it's an interpolation
This was a great video!
Are you planning on checking out more of his albums?
You can either start going with them chronologically (which would mean that maybe you should do Off The Wall, then go to BAD), or maybe just do any of his albums(i would recommend Dangerous or HIStory)
Thank you!!! And yes I’ll definitely be checking out more albums, not sure the order I’ll go in yet tbh! I might post community polls and do it that way or something 😂😂
Thanks for watching!! 💯💯
The guitar riff was Eddie Van halen of the group Van halen. The riff was very popular, it was the most popular part of the song. I know everything about Michael, I lived the Thriller era
Rip the King of music MJ
💯💯
The voice actor was Vincent Price a very famous horror actor from the 50,60,70
Wait it's your first time listening?!? This album is the best!
(Also I'm a mega MJ fan)
I am only subscribe your channel for Michael Jackson ❤️❤️❤️ love forever Michael ❤❤
It’s interesting that you love the weeknd and haven’t listened to an MJ record before!! I feel like the weeknd definitely got some inspiration from mike… MJ is one of my favorite artists of all time even though he passed away when I was 8. It always fun to see people discover his music besides the classic hits :)
Michael Jackson 👑🐐
Your telling me it’s be defeated and not beat it, beat it
you gotta check more Michael's records and his live performances
Regarding Wanna Be Startin` Somethin`: In he 80s we loved to dance ectstatically for hours on end, so tracks had to be looong and funky! 😆😍
Makes sense lmao, that’s awesome!!
I love Thriller and MJ so much!! It sounds so timeless and you have always something to listen to. And knowing that Toto participated on this album makes it even better
React to more Michael Jackson! Albums, Bad tour and other live performances and tours 👏🏻🔥
💯💯 Stay tuned!!
That wolf is also him. I learnt recently. Incredible.
My Favorite Album Of All Time!!!
That is really amazing, thank you for the information 💯💯
Most definitely will!! 💯
Nice video and reaction! To me, the best song of this album is definitely "Beat It"!
Thank you!!
bro now you HAVE to listen to the Off The Wall album, the Bad album, the Dangerous Album, HIStory, and Invincible
He also has a sister who is as famous as him. Try checking out Janet Jackson. She's great too.
You have to watch the full version of the thriller video to get the visual representation
I have seen the full version, maybe not in a long time though lol
Vincent Price is the narrator on Thriller, he is an actor who was in a few horror movies
Bad was the follow up to Thriller.
Eddie Van Halen played on Beat It. And everyone talked about it at the time.
Bro living under a rock😭
VINCENT PRICE btw. you are correct, he is an actor, that played on alot of Black/White Horror films
My favorite Michael Jackson song on The History album, it's called Money.
That’s awesome!!
Michael Jackson ❤️👑
💯🔥
Thank you I appreciate that!! 😁😁
You should totally listen to more Michael Jackson albums! Like OTW, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, and Invincible
I was 5 when thriller came out … was my first vinyl … I used it in the turntable… Thriller is The masterpiece of all the time … in 2000 years people will still listen to it… they killed MJ but his legacy is eternal!
Should've done BAD as well. That album also has iconic songs and more than what Thriller has
Loved ur reaction and that u enjoyed it can’t wait to see more of MJ 😉
Vincent Price…a well known actor of his time. Ghouls and vampires!
The most sold album ever made in the history of mankind
My top 10 fav MJ songs: Billie Jean, They don’t care about us, Earth Song, Smooth Criminal, Who is it, Human Nature, Stranger in Moscow, Man in the mirror, You are not alone, wanna be startin somethin, jam, remember the time, will you be there, black or white
that's what real music is
The ending to "Wanna Be Startin' Something'" that you mention in 10:30 is probably familiar to you because it is referenced by Rihanna in her song "Don't Stop The Music".
That makes sense, the main hook of the song was rather familiar as well though!! Great song though all the way 💯💯
oh also bad was released after this album so him saying bad is like a teaser to his next album! also little fun fact i met Jennifer baton Michael Jackson's lead guitarist on every show on his tour was surreal having a chat with someone who spent so much time with MJ
That is wayyy cool, that’d be awesome!!
Songs were longer in the 80d and 90s because we were dancing to them
I’m so jealous because this is your first experience w thriller album. I would like to experience that feeling again but i cant 💔 i was 11 years old when i found thriller out and still in love. LEGENDARY.
That’s crazy! Yeah I don’t know how it took me so long to hear the full project lmao
King for a reason
Also the bass line in the thriller was sampled from Rick James’ “Give It To Me.” It was cut, recommend giving it a listen and you can hear the direct correlation
Lady in my life is my favorite MJ song after Billie Jean from Thriller
Loved your reaction. If you like a good guitar solo, Eddie Van Halen on Beat It is the most famous/iconic one, but there are other great ones. Steve Stevens on Dirty Diana, Slash on Give in to Me and Michael Thompson on Privacy. Maybe you could also react to those if you haven't done so already?
Man I love Michael Jackson he was unreal. More Michael Jackson please !!!!!!
I love your vibe so much!
Thank you!!! I don’t like the over reaction reactors… I mean they can do their thing, but I just like to keep it real. Be myself, figured I’d grow an audience regardless!
I appreciate you!! 😁😁
That moment Micheal hit him in his soul 57:40
💯💯💯
PLEASE DO A REACTION TO HIS 1987 BAD ALBUM! i have been a mega fan of Michael for about 20 year and studied his craft. i can say that amungst his fanbase, we absolutely love Thriller as an album but i see a lot (including myself) have Bad as our favorite album. please give it a listen!!!
Definitely coming!! 💯💯
Every. Single. Song.
yeeeeah EDDIE FUCKING VAN HALEN owns the beat it solo ❤️
