I recently installed a kenwood BT225U Bluetooth radio into my 1997 GMC Sierra K1500. In the box had the radio, an adapter, and the Bluetooth radio mic. I personally didn’t put an antenna gender adapter to put into the radio. If your careful, you can put the antenna into the stereo and still have radio connection. I would recommend mounting the Bluetooth mic at a spot in your vehicle where there is no obstruction to your voice for maximum performance.
I’ve been thinkin about replacin the radio in my 95 C1500 cause the guy I bought it from said he was told the factory radio was draining the battery. What’s the likelihood that it actually is the factory radio and not something to do with the wiring or something like that?
I wouldnt have labeled this 88 to 98 because your dash is entirely & completely different that the years before it. However it would be appreciated if you were to explain how rhe older models are done.
What if you're trying to drop a double DIN touch screen into your 98 GMC is that possible with out extreme modifications also the tape deck/ CD player has been removed
Sorry. I won’t be putting another stereo in this truck for a while. The whole is too small for a two din stereo. The one I installed in the video is a single din, but I used an adapter plate.
Bret N Butter, my dimmer worked after installing a stereo into my 1997 GMC Sierra K1500. Your headlight connector probably is not connected in far enough.
Mine recently stopped working .. do you know what might of happened ? I put in the aftermarket blue tooth radio and it won’t even turn on anymore at all
Initial try..... fail... why? 1995 C1500 Work Truck that does not have a tilt steering wheel. Tried to pull the dash facade and could not get it far enough out to swivel/pivot out of the way.... Will try again and maybe I will have to do some modification on the dash facade to gain enough clearance to pull the old stereo and replace it with the new.... any other suggestions welcome. Anybody else have this problem without a tilt steering wheel?
It is a Sony MEX Radio. They probably have a better model out by now because this was a few years ago, but that series of radios comes with a built-in amplifier, so the sound is much better and louder than other radios. I’ve bought radios from Crutchfield in the past, and they always give you everything you need along with the radio. The wiring harness is free with it.
My radio came with 1 harness do I need to buy the other harness because I'm not getting any sound I guess my 1996 suburban has a built in amp... Help me please
I bought the stereo from the cheapest seller on eBay, and I bought the speakers from Crutchfield. Here is a link to a review I did of the radio. Sony MEX Car Stereo Review ruclips.net/video/oUncJy8Rbr8/видео.html
Found the right wire harness at Autozone and popped in the new radio the same day. I'd definitely wouldn't have ever figured out how to get the dash off on my own. This video sped things up a lot. Thanks!
The Sony MEX-XB100BT is one of the perfect aftermarket radios to put in a car that does not have a dashboard clock separated from the radio. You probably didn't know this, but the sub-info display at the top of the display window can display the clock instead of the source name.
I’m trying to install my radio in the same year truck. I connect all the wires together with its corresponding color and it doesn’t seem to work. What could be the issue?
I just noticed a nice place to smuggle stuff in, thank you 🙏🏻 ❤
You’re welcome
You saved me a few hours of my life. Thank you very much!

Good advice. Thanks.
Best video I found for removal of radio and CD player. Thanks!
You’re welcome
Thanks. I have a 95 Tahoe as well, and I think I'm confident enough now to try the swap myself!
You guys are Chevy guys for sure
Push downs and clicky things were confusing thanks for the help.😉

I think I'm just gonna leave my cassette player installed and use it more.. Now, if I can only find some cassettes! haha
Super informative thank you so much

Thanks. I rename the video. The body style was the same for all those years, but they redesigned the interior in 95.
Does it work on 95 GMC Sierra
Wiring diagram please for factory main harness
Nice vid...good 4 me right now....thans.
You’re welcome
Look at the radio under the heater control what is that for
Do you have any others I could use because the one you have linked is no longer available

I’m sure it’s possible, but I don’t know how you do it. You have to move all the air-conditioning controls down.
Metra double din kit
U da man stan
Thanks
Everything is in and put back together. But the right side of the stereo won’t plug in. It’s hanging by the left side
What did you do with the parking brake light? I don’t know where to put that one
nice install!
Thanks.
Just did this swapped in a Dual DC505iBT...watch out they don't warn it's insanely bright. I should have read the reviews.
My rear speakers don’t work but my front ones do and I redid the wires with connectors 🤷♂️😂 but they all work with the factory stereo
You probably have a factory amp... it is under you driver's seat. I had to cut the wires and bypass it.
@@davidhogeland5493 dog Ik this is a old comment but how did you get ur rear speakers to work I can’t figure it out
@@thegamingjester8246did you get it to work? I’m having the same problem
Can u do a video for Installation for a double or single din radio
Sorry. I won’t be putting another stereo in this truck for a while. The whole is too small for a two din stereo. The one I installed in the video is a single din, but I used an adapter plate.
Ok thanks a lot I’ll look into it
What does the purple wire with the white stripe go to
Are wire colors correct?
Hi,this is Jem from binize car stereo,we are interested in your video of car stereo, plz tell us how to contact you~
Did your dimmer work after this install? I recently installed a stereo in my truck and my dimmer isn’t working.
Yes. It still works.
Bret N Butter, my dimmer worked after installing a stereo into my 1997 GMC Sierra K1500. Your headlight connector probably is not connected in far enough.
Or you didn't use the illumination wire right
Mine recently stopped working .. do you know what might of happened ?
I put in the aftermarket blue tooth radio and it won’t even turn on anymore at all
Check the fuse in the fuse panel and check if the radio itself has a fuse in the back by the connectors
thanks I needed this info.
You’re welcome
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🇸🇦
Was there a silver box that the radio plugged intoalso and what speakers do you recommend
I know Im quite off topic but does anyone know of a good site to watch new movies online ?
@Keenan Jaime I use Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
What are the harness and stereo kit part numbers
It’s in the description.
Metra 99-3002 dash kit $12.00 Ebay or $22 Crutchfield...there you go
Thanks!
Where do i get the adapter wiring harness and did the smaller of the 2 come with the radio?

what radio and adapter?
I'm surprised you didn't test it before putting dash together.
How could I get the adapter?

Where did you get this speaker from
Crutchfield.
What is the radio model and where did you order all wires and dash kit

are you working for the radio now?
My son wanted to be able to use Bluetooth in the old truck, so we upgraded the radio. It sounds way better than the factory radio.

That’s a good question. I don’t know the answer. I’m not sure how you would get it wired to your speakers without the amp.
What about factory amp
Could you link what radio and setup that is exactly? Looking to order that same on!e! Unless you bought in person
I bought the stereo from the cheapest seller on eBay, and I bought the speakers from Crutchfield. Here is a link to a review I did of the radio. Sony MEX Car Stereo Review ruclips.net/video/oUncJy8Rbr8/видео.html
What's the part number for the dash kit
What dash kit did you use
The link is in the video description. Thanks for watching.
Do you still have the old stereo?
No.
where did you get that adapter for the wiring harness?
I bought it on eBay along with the 1.5 hole adapter kit. If you buy from a stereo store like Crutchfield, they include it along with the stereo.
where can i get the adapters cant find them my walmart dont have them thanks
I know Crutchfield sell them, and if you enter the year and model of your vehicle into eBay, you can probably find one there too.
hoohoohoblin thanks man found it 👊
@@la97chevy29 can you send me the link to the harness ?

How preset stations 95 cheyenne1500
Can you link the adapter?
I know Crutchfield sells them, or you can go on eBay and enter the year of your vehicle and find one that way too.
So I want to swap out my stock cassette player with a stock CD player. I go to a car stereo place and the guy tells me it cannot be done. WTF...
That’s odd. It can definitely be done. It is a weird size though. You have to buy the adapter plate for one and a half dim.
I will look into that. Thanx
Perfect video for the guy who's factory radio just committed suicide. Where did you guys get that adapter for the power?
I bought it on eBay. Look up your year of truck. Crutchfield also has them.

Your voice sounds off... did you get new software?
That’s my holiday weekend hangover voice. It sounds better than my real voice. I wish it would stay this way.

Transgender radio antenna
You litterly lost all credibility when you started playing "ghetto noise" out of the stereo!!
Didn't show anything about disconnecting the old radio. I give it a C-, for nothing but hear say.
Where did you get your adapter I have a Chevy Tahoe 99 and I’m using a pioneer radio
There’s a link in the video description to where you can get the adapter.
Where do you find the adapter for the radio to fit

96 Chevy 1500 _ Kenwood CD player stuck in protect mode any fix?
I think there’s a secret code written in the user manual that came with the truck, and you have to know what it is. It’s different for every radio.
