You constantly felt like you were running through molasses. The shooting didn't feel good, each characters abilities felt poor to use, clunky hit detection, etc, it felt bad and awkward. If you want to make a game like Overwatch, you have to make it fun and fast paced and make sure the abilities for each character feel good to use. You need to make sure getting a kill and taking an objective for example feels satisfying for the player. Concord just did not feel good to play, it wasn't fun...it seemed like a programming/coder issue.

You get to actually have fun, its not just a generic shooter again!
It's not about Unique Value. A game can be 100% unique and if you don't want to play as the character within the game that uniqueness won't change anything. Marvel Rivals isn't unque but it started with at least characters people wanted to try out and play. It being somewhat soild helped it stay around. It's not perfect by any means. If your going to make a hero shooter the frist thing you need is the characters and that what marvel has with it's IP. Yes, they could still have screwed up by having bad design for them but for the most part they are good. When I look at something like concord I didn't even see a single character I wanted to play compared to like first season overwatch. Which I wanted to try to like many but found which ones I really liked and which ones I didn't over time.
Rivals also plays in 3rd person which is far better than then OW's 1st person. Also easier to justify buying a skin as you can actually see your character using it outside of just emoting and intros/outros as is the case in Overwatch.
It's almost like people want characters with cool and dynamic designs. I have no complaints about any of the characters in Rivals, even Wolverine kinda grew on me with his weirdly stocky design. Hell, Marvel Rivals even took Squirrel Girl, the joke character who morphed into the icon of comic book Tumblrization, and made her appealing.
Oh one more thing. No flat chest at storm. I had a huge crush on her forever when they did that it made me want to fucking cry. Can't believe they did that beautiful woman.
Dude beer gut store was cool especially when he was bearded after all it's closer to the actual character than marvels I would love to have that as a skin.
Not sure it's good idea to keep roasting Sony when Marvel Rivals is also on PlayStation platform as well... Remember Helldivers 2 fiasco with PC players? 🤔
There's no way they could get away with making Storm look like a Cincord tier troll. Her fanbase treats her like a queen and they'd have lost their damn mind.
Fun fact, China has it's own mythical and legendary heroes who are usually portrayed as extremely masculine (for men) and angelically beautiful (for women) and today that beauty standard largely holds up today although pretty boys are also a thing now in China. It does not surprise me that when making Marvel Rivals they applied that mindset to the characters and largely avoided the woke DEI incarnations that Western devs have churned out.
I'm just saying, I would bet there would be a few people, myself included, that would get a kick out it if they added The Dude Thor, rather than Beer Gut Thor
Man... I remember seeing that "Avengers: H day" or whatever that story was called about avengers living in opressive world... Story was slop, characters looked like something out of LSD driven schizophrenia episode and backgrounds were drawn on the level of "worst kid in art class" in 5th grade. Maybe we just need english translators so they can translate stories... But than again, we could have another "funimation" situation
Palworld replacing the sex option with a "body type" option as a joke is already bad publicity since it does not seem like a joke since there is no punchline. The recent Dragon Quest III port even confuses video game players since "Appearance A" and "Appearance B" are the only characters to pick, but the dresses can only be equipped on women, meaning that "man" and "woman" should be used on the characters instead.
@@Boss_Tiggerinsane how they look at the west and see the fanatic left instead of the majority normal gamers that are causing these studios to go bankrupt.
I honestly think Palworld deserved the lawsuit. I don’t care if it wasn’t for the designs, I just hate how smug they are. And you cannot convince me those pals weren’t made with AI
Kneon, if they outsourced the art to Japan but had western writers, we'd just have that War of the Rohirrim thing, just with comics instead of animation. And yes, China is a problem.. I admit the devs have their priorities straight, but ceding yet another industry to them isn't the way to go either. I gave up on playing Love Nikki a few years ago because I recognized where the winds were blowing, despite having a hefty collection in that game. We are being rope-a-doped. I think what needs to happen is we all need to stick to indie stuff for the next few years until these companies fire the activists and fanfic writers and get some good projects running again. Because no matter how good the game is, these companies will learn the absolute worst wrong lesson from this.
It is amazing seeing how you give players characters they love and they look, feel and play as they should be depicted in a video game people would flock and support the game. Cough, cough... Looking at you Suicide Squad. No one wanted DC characters version of a shit version of Border Lands, where everyone feels the same and are so far from their comic personas.
People do switch. Played Siege for more than 5 years. Tons of skins. Tons of season passes and even some battle passes. The straw that broke the camel's back was when it went woke.
It is an overwatch clone. However, it does have some different features that do make it better. Also, hardly any woke bullcrap. It does have hefty prices for skins.

You get to actually have fun, its not just a generic shooter again!
I mean, everybody's floored by the designs right? You want goblin girl in a t-shirt? Hideous black with shoulder pads? Fat black with more padding?
If you’re named Thaddeus with “a big Thad”, then you will go far
Rivals also plays in 3rd person which is far better than then OW's 1st person. Also easier to justify buying a skin as you can actually see your character using it outside of just emoting and intros/outros as is the case in Overwatch.
What a shame
It's almost like people want characters with cool and dynamic designs. I have no complaints about any of the characters in Rivals, even Wolverine kinda grew on me with his weirdly stocky design. Hell, Marvel Rivals even took Squirrel Girl, the joke character who morphed into the icon of comic book Tumblrization, and made her appealing.
Marvel Rivals is very good that I consider Overwatch as more a clone to marvels.
I didn’t even know about Marvel Rivals but I’m glad it’s doing well.
I just hope that the people in charge of making these games don't think that it's only successful because it used a pre-established franchise
Not sure it's good idea to keep roasting Sony when Marvel Rivals is also on PlayStation platform as well...
Remember Helldivers 2 fiasco with PC players? 🤔
And no one was surprised.
There's no way they could get away with making Storm look like a Cincord tier troll. Her fanbase treats her like a queen and they'd have lost their damn mind.
To remake a quote from a bad tv show: Do better Gaming Industry!
Marvel rivals success is going to destroy not only woke games but woke entertainment as a whole. You love to see it
He ain’t wrong
Fun fact, China has it's own mythical and legendary heroes who are usually portrayed as extremely masculine (for men) and angelically beautiful (for women) and today that beauty standard largely holds up today although pretty boys are also a thing now in China. It does not surprise me that when making Marvel Rivals they applied that mindset to the characters and largely avoided the woke DEI incarnations that Western devs have churned out.
I'm just saying, I would bet there would be a few people, myself included, that would get a kick out it if they added The Dude Thor, rather than Beer Gut Thor
The director said git gud.
Gezz, overkill much? The game is already dead and the studio that made it is gone as well. This feels like rubbing salt into the wound for Sony.
Let the salt flow.😎
Fairgame$ and Naughty Dog's newest thing are still in development, so they haven't learned their lesson and *do* need further salting.
Dragon Age Veilguard proves they haven't gotten the memo.. so as the above commenters put it.. Let the Salt flow 🤣😂
As everyone should, you know they'd do the same if the game succeeded.
Square Enix is remaking DQ 1 and 2 as well. You can bet they won't make the same mistake again.
The creator of DQ said in a recent interview that publishers force the changes in order for games to be released these days.
@@Boss_Tigger I saw that one. Yuji Horii is right that it is ridiculous to get triggered by the male or female option.
A free game that is embarrassing the crap out of you. Now that is pure comedy.😂😂😂😂😂
For that last comment you should be hired as head of Marvel Comics
Comic book accurate!? Must be absolute trashfire, alt something, and fanservice gamergate 😋😂 blah blah blah
Oh the irony
It is amazing seeing how you give players characters they love and they look, feel and play as they should be depicted in a video game people would flock and support the game. Cough, cough... Looking at you Suicide Squad. No one wanted DC characters version of a shit version of Border Lands, where everyone feels the same and are so far from their comic personas.
Waiting for Marvel Rivals to add, *_"IT'S MORBIN' TIME!!!"_*
People do switch. Played Siege for more than 5 years. Tons of skins. Tons of season passes and even some battle passes. The straw that broke the camel's back was when it went woke.
If any one is gonna make a game remember concord lost hundreds of millions while Genshin is making billions each year.
ok, this is well deserved
It's not my type of game, but I'm glad it's doing well.
SMITE cashed in on the ancient myths. Marvel rivals is cashing in on the modern mythology
It is an overwatch clone. However, it does have some different features that do make it better. Also, hardly any woke bullcrap. It does have hefty prices for skins.
That dude had epic parents
Giving people The character version of Marvel Heroes you love and not the woke joke version.
8:00 I don't think this era's US writers are good. Have JP writers and artists since they can emulate US-styled illustrations better (see One Punch Man 's artist Yusuke Murata)
I’m enjoying rivals it’s legitimately more fun than current overwatch sans classics 6v6
Good job Disney!
Still wish they would fix Storm's hairstyle. This Fauxhawk is iconic of woke design still.
And before anyone jumps on me for not being a "real fan" I was more a fan of Wolverine, cyclops, Gambit, and Jubilee than Storm.
There is nothing woke about Mohawk rock. Its called Punk.
@@EagleOneHarrier The actual punk cut doesn't stop half way. Real mohawks shave off the left and right leaving a line down the center of the head left for styling. Anything less is a poser cut.
Give people classic characters.
I'm not going to lie. I think it'd be kind of fun to play a fat fat Thor for fun, but that's just me cuz again, Thor is a badass. He's a freaking God for Christ's sakes but play it is fat Thor. I'm sorry I'd be kind of fun.
Its unfair cos marvel rivals has well marvel popularity
Storm hands down is the most beautiful and has the best female character designs.
I prefer Psylocke (Betsy Braddock) more.
@@artfire28
Betsy is not in the game.
That's why I play tobal no.1 and 2 videos another classic fighter video game lot better than concord. Say whatever people they want about another classic fighter video game. They bring design unique to different concepts as hidden gems.
beer belly thor would be funny thou.
Great game with beautiful characters.
So you're telling me not trying to brainwash your players is a good strategy?
But, did it bring any unique value?
Concord is the video game equivalent of Jesus, it died for all our sins in the gaming industry.
Just without any miracles to their credit... just cringe... so... much... cringe...
