  • Following the well-known haulage company Eddie Stobart, famous for their iconic green lorries and smartly dressed drivers, as they work around the clock to load-up, drive and deliver their cargo to their deadlines.
This highly popular observational documentary featuring haulage firm Eddie Stobart shows Stobart’s Haulage, Rail and Air divisions. The programme joins the drivers as they take on the challenges of delivering everything from the new pitch at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, to a London Landmark - the famous Piccadilly lights. It's all a bit sensationalist though, with perfectly normal traffic congestion being described as the drivers' "worst nightmare" and standard delivery deadlines made out to be life-or-death cut offs. The series also meets a new breed of drivers, as 20 young lads compete to win a place on the firm’s coveted apprenticeship scheme.

I like the idea of who will deliver the goods first. Sometimes the train wins or sometimes the lorry wins. The main advantage of using the railways that far more containers can be transported in just one trip and takes many lorries off the road but goods will still be transported by road and the lorry drivers really do enjoy their job.

Trains are better than trucks. One truck does 1 - 2 trailers. One train does more than 5 trailers. All together those 5 + trucks are more expensive than the train. That loco would be able to run more than one quicker.

@@conanbradley9876 yes that's the now but if you are a rail spotter or have go in with some rail news you may of heard network rail is trying to make the network electrified meaning these trains and light locos will be much cheaper to run. Also much safer for the environment. And the fact the truck would cost about 20000+ for a full fill and the fumes for one container. Compared to the railway less emissions, more containers in one journey And they will be a cheaper way to run. It will also clear up the roads a lot more. Its just my opinion and its true info.
