Welp, sorry for lying to you guys.. I told ya I’d see you after the New Year, but I’m back before my break ended, haha. Nah, I just thought I’d put this together for you guys.. and I had the time. I had already been compiling Kevin Greene clips for a little while in hopes of making a highlight of his in the next month or so, if I could.. but after I heard the news of his sudden passing last week, I knew I had to expedite it.. actually kinda sorry it wasn’t sooner, but as you probably can tell, this project was kinda bigger than normal.. it’s not easy trying to compact his whole great career into one video, but I feel good about this one.. I hope you enjoy it too. He was an amazing dude with a passion for the game like no other, and I couldn’t believe it when I heard. I’ll even share with you a little story of how I came to know of Kevin Greene, if you feel like reading, and feel free to share anything in the comments as well. Back in the day (I say that as if it were a long time ago, but I guess 15-20 years is getting to be a while ago, haha), I was as obsessed with football as I am today; wanting trading cards, books, memorabilia, media, anything and everything NFL I could get my hands on (Still am that way today, haha). One tradition I had was in grade school, ever so often, my dad and I would go to the local Salvation Army to see if we could score some good stuff inexpensively. They had a media section, and I would always scour the VHS tapes for NFL content.. luckily they were usually ripe for the picking a good amount of the times we went there. So, I have a bunch of NFL Films classic VHS tapes, from football follies to amazing cinematography capturing the different aspects of the game. And on some of these tapes, was this barbarian of a dude with long lushes golden locks, and he was rocking people.. an absolute rockstar, and I thought he was really cool (not fully knowing who he was just yet, nor that he was one of the best to ever play). I think what really first caught my eye was seeing him in a Steelers uniform, and thinking how crazy it was that they had a “Greene” on their team.. and it wasn’t Mean Joe, haha. Anyway, that was really my first introduction to the legend, Kevin Greene.. thank you for reading. I only hope he is resting easy, catching up with all the other legends that have gone before us. He will be missed, and he will be remembered! See you all next week with some great suggestions from you! Love you guys, appreciate you guys! Peace… out! ✌️🤟🏈!!

Awesome video. The most impressive thing I ever seen him do was bull rush clean through Larry Allen. I was like Holy Shit!!

Without Greene as a linebacker coach on the packers we’d never got to the Super Bowl with his wisdom and teaching our linebackers a lil something he knows

I went to Auburn with Kevin and was in ROTC and rode motorcycles with him. We were pretty close for a short time. I want to thank you for putting out this video. Someone below complained about the lack of football highlights, but there are plenty of those videos out there. You did a good job of capturing the truth that Kevin was so much more than someone who played football for money. He would have played for free. I doubt anyone played professional football as long as he did and still loved playing as much as he did. At Auburn he would jump into any pick-up game going on down at the drill field. He believed in himself even though others said he would never play at the college level. After he finally made the team, they said he would never start. Once he started, they said he would never make pro. He just loved it so much he couldn't help but keep going. But he was also an Army officer and a true gentleman. He was a true patriot and had great respect for the USA and the military. His brother and father were also in the military. He was a devoted husband and father and had more energy than seemed possible. He was an all-around great human being who deserves to be remembered for more than just great football clips. Thank you for sharing this.

Likewise! Thank you for sharing these words, I'm honored to read them. That's awesome that you got know the person behind the player persona, because that's what's most important. Always enjoy hearing the positive effects that players have off the field. But yea, I like to showcase a players whole story where and when I can.. so I'm glad you enjoyed that and appreciated it too. Thanks for stopping by!

Kevin Greene was the reason I wanted to be a Middle "Hunter Killer" Linebacker as a kid in the 80s. Taking that raptor's position behind the D-line. Reading the faces and body language. Calculating most likely travel routes of his prey. Then, with the snap of the ball. showing up at the QB's front door like an unexpected tax collector. It was glorious in my teenage mind. Much respect and R.I.P. warrior.

Bro, in the Anaheim parking lot can’t tell you how many players would come out and have a beer. So many. We were 4-12 but who got to have a beer with a player after? Lol - I’m sure that will never happen again these days. And Kevin by FAR was my favorite Defensive player of my youth. Remember the two sacks on Joe Montana MNF

Saw Kevin play many times in person in Carolina. He was RELENTLESS and had a motor with one speed.. GO!!! He wasn’t the biggest and definitely wasn’t the fastest but he could get off a block like nobody’s business. Very hard to block or ‘out motor’ him 💯
