- Azaleas are one of the most beautiful flowering plants on earth. These are from the group Rhododendron and grows naturally mostly in hilly areas. There are hundreds of colours with more than 10000 cultivars round the world. These prefer acidic soil and can be grown easily indoor as house plant as well as outdoor. While Growing outdoor please grow them under tree as they prefer shades. They cannot be grown under scorching sunlight. They are perennial plants and gives flowers whole the year. The special thing about this is once it flowers they remain for a couple of weeks.

Good evening sir, I am subscriber of your chanell. I am new in Gardening after retirement. Got a lots of information. Recently I purchased Perlite. Coco peat is also available with me. Perlite or Coco peat which one you prefer for Azaleas. Besides should I use 1 tsf. Of mix (of Horn meal, Superphosphate, NPK& Muster cake Powder in equal ratio) once in every month.
Great video. You must follow this up with a growth report after 6 months or so. Also converting one into a bonsai would be good to see.

Azelia flower grow so well in north east India , it bloom in hundreds cover all the leaves ,bloom throughout the year in north east ,this flower love forest humus soil n rain ,All type of flowers grow so well in northeast ,which i dont find in other part of india ,the weather n soil is different in north east india

Hi Dr I always follow your methods. Recently I bought one azelia plant in 27nov and with in 15 days all leaves has fallen and some of them turned into reddish dead leaves. Just 5% leaves are green on 26dec. What to do? How can I save the plant and recover it.
It seems that you have removed the original potting mix and plant gone to shock. Hope for the best. Plant may recover in its natural process. Give it a more time to recover.

No you can change according to your convenience. But it should contain compost or leaf mould

Dear Mr. Agarwal, could you please advise as how to take care during Kolkata summer. Cockpit also make potting media soggy after some time repotting. The sellers always suggest to use leaf mould only, no ather media. Please advise.

Can we grow cutting in April
I have heard that Azaleas grow in West Bengal region thrive well and SURVIVE MORE EASILY in North India (I'm from Lucknow) than those supplied from Pune Maharashtra. Is it RIGHT ? Approx 10 -12 plants of mine have died here in summers even though I tried a lot and had also shifted them indoors (in May). In Lucknow each plant costs between Rs. 250-350 so loosing so many expensive plants is affordable for me and now I am thinking of not to plant them again. Same problem occurs for my Geraniums (but seedlings are not costly so I can replant in each season).
Could you please help with some detailed information. I have already seen lots of your videos and many others too. SO I want some SPECIFIC GUIDANCE if you can do the favour. I love gardening so I'll be greatly obliged if you can help.
