Easily the best of the series in my opinion. Having played this game when the actual Olympics in London occurred, it only makes it more nostalgic experiencing this for the first time in over a decade. From it having the most “dream events” to the modern selections, I would consider this the peak of these games. Update: Since I wrote this comment, one of the developers of the Mario and Sonic Olympics games confirmed that the series is officially over. Well, it was fun while it lasted. We'll miss this series and the fun times it gave us on the Wii.

The graphics engine here is REALLY good for Wii. And I’m not taking the 4K resolution into account here. This is a good looking game in general, and for the Wii.
I know I’m late to the party, but I’d just like to point out how this game did Discus Throw so well and then Tokyo 2020 made it stupid beyond belief by having the trajectory for the discus be invisible. I hated that. That aside, this game looks like so much fun.
I kid you not I cried nostalgic tears the whole videos this was my favorite one out of the series. And the fact that we will never get another one is HEARTBREAKING. Imma buy a Wii and play this again

hey neo, how did you map the controls out? I recently was able to find this rom and I'm almost able to play all of the events except for dream sprint. That event, and london party requires you to use the wii remote sideways, but of course I have my controls mapped on a GC controller.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find a 60FPS patch for this game like with Winter Games (2010), so it’s mostly 30FPS. 😕
