Yeah...fancy places! It is possible to find these dishes by lower prices but for what I've seen, they are trying really high quality food, food that won't give them stomach aches, hahaha! The sweet pastel, sugarcane juice and açaí were right on average price, though.
@@Rogerioapsandrade The açaí they bought was the mix that has become more popular, it's different from the pulp and you can tell by the color. The restaurants buy this mix so they don't have to do anything other than put it in your bowl. No need to say that the pulp is way more tasteful.
@@DelightfulTravellers You went to a great spot, I'm a "gringo" who used to live in Sao Paulo for years, I've seen most sides of the city. Sure, you can find pastel and coxinha way cheaper, but Boteco Sao Bento is located in the best spot of Vila Madalena, has a great vibe, good service, often live music etc... every weekend it's packed with locals, but sure, probably middle class and up. A beer at a restaurant Yorkville, Toronto, will also likely cost more than a beer at a dive bar in London, Ontario. I enjoyed your videos :-)

As a Brazilian and as you experienced Brazilian food....so when I got in line for the BBQ party, the host told me to choose a hot dog or burger on the grill, grab a potato chip bag and a coke!!!???!
Tapioca is made from yuka, mandioca roots. The fries you ate as well. The powder is used for pāo de queijo, the farinha that comes with feijoada is also made from mandioca. This is the very base food of the natives here.
I am Brazilian and I live two hours away from São Paulo, in my small town we love eating "feijoada, cuscuz, barbecue( who we called churrasco ) mandioca and in June we eat a lot of foods made with corn.

Usually I am not enticed by most of the food you try, but, everything you tried in this video looks yummy. I am a big fan of tapioca pudding so that tapioca squares dish look especially intriguing but did it seem more like a dessert?
Tapioca is neutral so it goes with anything. In this case it's not a sweet dish (dessert) as it goes with a salty sauce but there is many tapioca desserts

Something that is interesting about Brazil... we belong to a Big country, so we have different kinds of food. I live in Santa Catarina, so here we have the German Culture that is TOTALLY different if you compare to São Paulo, but in North side of Brazil you can find another kind of food, something more Spicy... while here in South side we have Cucken (we say Cuca) , that’s a kind of cake, but how it looks like and how we prepare is different. So something that I tell you if you are coming to Brazil, each state has something special and the best way to try it: talk to people from different places, São Paulo is soooo normal
São Paulo is all about the food ! Lots of great places to visit and new tastes to enjoy! I know you guys visited Ibirapuera Park and Avenida Paulista. I was wondering if you guys are taking some time to visit museums and cultural centers as well. Places like The Pinacoteca, MASP, MAM, Latin America Memorial, Japan House, (among many others) are well worth the visit, they are all free on Tuesdays (Japan House is permanently free) and most can be easily accessed by subway
People outside Brazil, these foods they ate are of course really good and if you have the opportunity you should get it. But just a note, they were eating in high standard places and the prices matched the area they were in. You can get really good Brazilian street food for a fraction of the cost. The presentation might not be as good but street food is always something that varies a lot in every country.

Guys I'm sooo happy with your videos. I've been far from SP for more than 4 years, because I'm living in Colombia. Most of the time when people go to Brazil they actually go to the Northwest or Rio. SP is more famous for business people, that's why is amazing that you're showing the tourist side of my city/state, I would tell 100 places to go, but now it is too late hehehehe. The açaí fruit cant only be found in the state of Pará, so thats why you didin´t see in São Paulo. And the smoothie that you are thaking it´s mix with guaraná, another brazilian fruit. Also, the fruit it´s realy sour
The sugar kane juice is very common in countryside, we call it "garapa" or "caldo de cana". Nutritive, some ppl add lemon and passion fruit to mix flavours and usually we combine "pastel" with It. Perfect hot Summer combination for tea time.
When they were in São Paulo, they stopped going to the best place to eat the real sandwich from São Paulo. It's called BAURU. And it's in the cafeteria called PONTO CHIC.

The BEST doce de leite is the homemade one and from my state, Minas Gerais, where it's a typical sweet. And there's something else you've talked about in another video that paulistas can't make as well as we, mineiros, do, which is the pão de queijo! It's also typical from my state and there's definitely no other place in Brazil that makes it as tasty as in here! ;)

So something that I tell you if you are coming to Brazil, each state has something special and the best way to try it: talk to people from different places, São Paulo is soooo normal

I know you guys visited Ibirapuera Park and Avenida Paulista. I was wondering if you guys are taking some time to visit museums and cultural centers as well. Places like The Pinacoteca, MASP, MAM, Latin America Memorial, Japan House, (among many others) are well worth the visit, they are all free on Tuesdays (Japan House is permanently free) and most can be easily accessed by subway

People outside Brazil, these foods they ate are of course really good and if you have the opportunity you should get it. But just a note, they were eating in high standard places and the prices matched the area they were in. You can get really good Brazilian street food for a fraction of the cost. The presentation might not be as good but street food is always something that varies a lot in every country.

funny thing when you said about pastel because It’s said that the pastel came to Brazil along with Japanese immigration. When the Japanese arrived in Brazil, they adapted the Chinese wontons to sell as snacks at the weekly street markets to earn a living in their new country.
Guys I'm sooo happy with your videos. I've been far from SP for more than 4 years, because I'm living in Colombia. Most of the time when people go to Brazil they actually go to the Northwest or Rio. SP is more famous for business people, that's why is amazing that you're showing the tourist side of my city/state, I would tell 100 places to go, but now it is too late hehehehe. The sugar kane juice is very common in countryside, we call it "garapa" or "caldo de cana". Nutritive, some ppl add lemon and passion fruit to mix flavours and usually we combine "pastel" with It. Perfect hot Summer combination for tea time.

The BEST doce de leite is the homemade one and from my state, Minas Gerais, where it's a typical sweet. And there's something else you've talked about in another video that paulistas can't make as well as we, mineiros, do, which is the pão de queijo! It's also typical from my state and there's definitely no other place in Brazil that makes it as tasty as in here! ;)
