You couldn't have sold this any better to me. I am in Lightroom for at least 6 hours a day. I have become pretty fast with the mouse and keyboard but having the turn dials and push knobs is going to be a game-changer!
Boom! Thanks for this - was going to shell out on a loupedeck+, but for less than one-third the cost this looks worth a try. Several buyers on amazon also state they use theirs for this purpose. No brainer! 👍🏻
This looks so cool I am in the same boat no Lightroom. Hope someone dose a update for that one day. But sounds great to speed up your post processing time. And great price.
Hi this looks great. I have been looking at Loupedeck+ I have a handful of questions if that's OK? 1 Does this work with photoshop as per Loupedeck's latest software? 2 Can you make adjustments while still in Library mode? 3 Same question for full screen? 4 Can you assign a button for alt?( I use alt quite a bit when setting blacks, whites and when sharpening and split toning) 5 I really like the look of the HSL adjustment features on Loupedeck+ are you able to set that up fully? Many Thanks
And that is one thing Loupedeck has as an advantage! As it stands right now I don't think there is a way to use Midi2LR with Photoshop (if there is I am unaware), and I will see about using it while still in the Library module. As for setting a button to be "ALT" there is no reason you shouldn't be able to as you can assign any button to any keyboard button.
Hey Jamie. Did you do any sort of firmware customization before connecting to lightroom/Midi2LR or it worked just out of the box? Some other videos on the RUclips says that you should do some firmware customization on Windows before you plug it on to your Mac. Thanks for the video.
Hi from Germany! Thanks for your information! ;-) I have a question. Can you program the Midi2LR for special "things"? Like Making a new Layer (COM + J) in Photoshop? Or resizing the brushes, to group layers or to create a mask and stuff like that? Sorry for my BAD english ;-)
Hello, in fact, I am a digital artist on Photoshop and I use a graphics tablet, and I have been looking for a while for a device that contains loops because they are more suitable for shortcuts than buttons, so what are the medium-priced devices that you advise me to buy? & thank you
Hello! Thanks for the nice video!! I am using Korg nanoKontrol 2 but after the first time, when open LR I take the message: "An internal error has occurred. [string "Utilities.lua"]:55: table index is nil" and I cant open the Midi2LR app. Have any idea what is happening with the plug in?
@@JamieMacDonald So far I found out that the new Loupedeck Plus works on four softwares that I use a lot. Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere & Capture One. Unfortunately the Midi2LR only works for Lightroom hence the price difference. Also I do photo tethering and using Lightroom is just too slow compared to Capture One which is much faster.

Right on!! You'll have a blast with it!
Super cool and cheap, only my plan is to ditch LR and use Luminar 2018. Hope rsjaffe develops Midi2Luminar software?
Great review and setup Jamie.
Hey John, if there is any sort of development with Luminar I will be back here to talk about it!!
Thanks for watching!

No firmware needed on the Mac. Just use the MiDi2LR plugin.
@@JamieMacDonald Thank you. I think I will order one soon
This might have to be my after holiday project. You mentioned Sklyum so are you able to set up this with Luminar?
Currently I know of no way...Yet.

Great video and cool looking product. Like it!
Can you use the profile from windows on a mac?
Awesome! Will this work for adobe camera raw as well?
Sadly at this time, it only works in light room that I'm aware of.
I've been wondering what I was going to do with my old Korg Micro Kontrol; guess I know now.
will this work with other adobe products? like AE and Premier Pro?
Sadly the last time I checked no...But there may be support now? I'd give Google a search and see.
Jamie, great video. Especially if you also consider Palette Gear I think it’s called. Hope to see more of you and working with Olympus gear. Cheers
Hi I love it bought the X touch mini, I am Running 5.6 lightroom and cant get the software to work? any advice appreciated Thanks

Great video I have been debating about getting loop deck but this seems like a better alternative.
I wonder if this would work for Adobe Camera Raw...
will this work for video color
Not that I know of. Maybe someone has figure that out since I made this video though.
@@JamieMacDonald haven't found anything out there so maybe not😥😥
Pleeeease does it work with photoshop?
What version of Lightroom will it work on. Will it work with Capture One & Adobe Premiere?
I'm currently using it on Adobe Lightroom CC Classis so can only speak to that. Sorry I do not have more information.

@@beerborn sounds like the Loupedeck is perfect for what you do! I went this route to kinda see if the Loupedeck is something I'd use.
Can you use any midi controller?
From what I understand YES!! I have a friend using a Korg on his setup.
On 12/3/18, price at Amazon is up to $49 and change.
There must have been a run on them. It's up to $59.99 now.
1/21/19 $59.99
22/04/20 66.50!Damn!
nice
Shame I just found this video cause the price has doubled in the meantime
can't take this seriously from a guy who videos himself bang on centre frame
You probably have a hard time enjoying movies.
