First of all, AOC wasn't the first one to calls the camps "concentration camps", Joe Arpaio was - and he was boasting about them. Second of all, instead of criticizing AOC for calling them "concentration camps", maybe criticize the Trump administration for having them.
They are criticizing her comments because it's true, the more we call them what they are the more people will wake up to it. The death camps in Nazi Germany didn't start out as Death Camps, they gradually became as such the more the oppression of minorities and enemies of the state was tolerated.

A) After DACA passed, the US saw a 100x SURGE in legitimate 'UNACCOMPANIED' minors. These kids were sent here in a tidal wave (to reside w a relative, who was already here) inorder for them to qualify for the DACA program, before the cut off date.
Border Patrol was ROUTINELY finding 20-50 kids (all under 13 years old) who were only accompanied by 2 coyotes! So YES, the cages pictured were used, due to an emergency. HOWEVER
Obama followed THE LAW which states: Children can not be kept in detention for more than 20 days!!!!
In that time, foster situations & families the kids were enroute to meet were summoned, and the children were dealt with.
Trump CREATES thesr 'unaccompanied minors' HIMSELF! RIPPING THEM AWAY FROM THEIR PARENTS (which Obama on back to George Washington NEVER DID) as retribution for REFUGEES ACTUALLY FOLLOWING US LAW, COMING TO SEEK ASYLUM, and being completely & illegally punished for the trouble.
UNCHR passed the US Senate UNANIMOUSLY under LBJ- & they have every right to enter our country & then ask for asylum by whatever means necessary. THAT IS THE LAW! Ratified UNANIMOUSLY by the US Senate & signed by the US President and until THAT IS REPEALED it STANDS as US LAW!

That Trans Mt Pipeline is a HUGE environmental disaster waiting to happen. It's so potentially HUGE and the disaster affects so life threatening to everything in Puget Sound and beyond I shudder every time I think about it.

I have lived here 8 years and to find a trustworthy politician after money or power ir involved is almost impossible. I was born and raised in the States and had a much different view of things before I've lived here for awhile. Right now I'm investigating some companies who are polluting the environment, they lobby, they create their own air and water pollution norms based on themselves etc. The things I know now, I can never un-know 😕Last year an environmentalist was murdered and dubbed a suicide. At a certain level most people become corrupt except for some people who have been completely transformed from the inside out. You are right though.

You're being unfair to Mr. Shanahan by not reporting the full story regarding the earliest Seattle incident; police, noting the bruises on Mr. Shanahan, and the lack of marks on his wife, arrested her. He got the charges dropped. Following the divorce, she was again charged with assault of others, but the charges were dropped.

The sad fact is that Mitch the Turtle has a point: Reperations just for slavery is a tricky thing to sell politically. It would be easier if the debate were about reperations for the systematic discrimination of black people until at least the 1960s, with having slavery mentioned as one of the main driving forces in the first nearly 100 years of US history for that.
I work 8 hours of overtime and get taxed on a third of that time and amazon pays no tax ? What's wrong with with this system.

Given the highly biased structure of the economy, the incentives to be greedy and the complete lack of any kind of well articulated counter economy we ought expect greater and greater concentration of power and corruption.
Trump administration says that the "concentration camps" dubbed Summer camp, are days spent in cages, ok, not the small cages used for dogs and cats but large enough to keep 'several animals' restrained, claim to have enough space to crap in front of others and room to move around in the cage. I have a suggestion to make, how about putting in those large cages for a week time to a month anyone making the claim these cages are more like Summer Camp, when I went to Summer camp, it was an exciting event, Mom or Dad would approve and buses would take us to the Summer camp where we were free to roam and adventure with friends.
Trudeau makes his announcement about allowing the oil pipeline in front of a backdrop of a beautiful forest. It would have been more honest to make it in front of a backdrop depicting what that forest would look like after the pipeline came through.
