I am also planning to go from Delhi to Udaipur via road in the next few weeks. Can you suggest the best route? How is the option of continuing on Delhi Mumbai expressway till sawai madhopur and then via Bundli and chittorgarh to Udaipur

You call it best? This is the worst route at present. Lots and lots of construction is going on between Jaipur and Ajmer. Very heavy traffic and huge traffic jams round the clock. Presence of too many large size trucks makes life for smaller vehicles miserable. Only advantage is availability of very good food joints and dhabas. Nothing else to praise for. Quality of surface is poor and the road has bumps. Alternative routes are better.
