Don't care what you say, this music is more moving and more beautiful than a lot of music that the public enjoys. This is worthy of worship ! this band is amazing and can make me see through sound, these emotional and energizing soundscapes clears my head, allows me to think and allows me to wonder.I am able to enjoy almost any environment, I can transform the most awful place to the most beautiful. This is the music that would help the world wake up. This is something more than just music.
The only thing more beautiful than the music is the well thought out comments here on this page. It makes me feel good that I am in good company! You all rock!
You are tiny. I can see the whole of time and space. Every single atom of you existence. And i divide them. Everything must come to dust. All things. Everything dies.
Thank you so much for posting this, God Is An Astronaut always puts so many running images in my head. The bit when the drums really start to crack give this picture in my head of running down an old medieval corridor running invincibly through flames. Amazing band.
I dont know how but they are able to take certain emotions and inject it into their music, no lyrics, just pure sound. like the title is when everything dies.. i could just picture myself walking threw a forest then all the sudden all the trees around me start to burn. If this isnt music.. then i'd hate to be a music lover.
I could listen to all these amazing songs on my iTunes, yet watching them on RUclips means I can read the comments / responses from other people. Amazing stuff.
Music is also experienced through emotions, by indeed, i think recognizing patterns and harmonies. The joy of listning comes from the reward for the mind for his ability to get a grasp of the harmonies and patterns. However, i don't think these patterns are always universal. Certain sounds and melodies or variatians of these, are embedded in the memory. This is the reason why i think certain people like certain music; The music they listend to in their youth or due joyfull occasions.
Religion has no part in this music, This music is just spiritual on it's own. Anymore spiritual uplifting in it we'd float from earth and never come back.
@AstronautJ I think explosions in the sky is more 'raw'. With the tones they use. This is a more clean sounding band to me. While each has their own ups and downs I think it's safe to say they are equally good at reaching out to you with their music and that they both desrve more expsure
Macklemore and Timeflies are examples of "Rappers" that actually put heart and TRUE meaning behind their words. I don't agree that people are automatically "degenerates" due to the type of music they enjoy, however the mainstream Rap industry compels the listeners to be the way they are. If only the media actually played real music, then we wouldn't have to worry about half the shit we do.
Fuck these long spans of time where no music plays. This playlist is awesome, but it sucks when this shit happens. *Goes back to computer, opens window, fast forwards...
Theres still a lot of subjectivity to the matter. If you were raised in a different culture and were brought up to think minors in music= happiness you would totally believe it. I think one of the greatest composers of our time is trent reznor from Nine inch nails, who incorporates a great deal of dissonance in his music, following after igor stravinsky, but dissonance isn't liked by a great deal of people, although it generally has a decent following.
@burtontoker actually, wiki says that they chose theyr band name using a quote from horror-scifi film "Nightbreed" . Dunno how much thruth is in it. But if you are asking about their religious views - go ahead and find them on myspace, facebook , official site for egz. and ask away.
miracles are the infusion of good in the world where it shouldn't be present, not a suspension of physically perceived law as such feats would only be parlor tricks for the sufficiently advanced. accumulation of knowledge, love and communication are our miracles and the proof that we are part of something greater.
@burtontoker i'm also curious as to whether they're a christian group or not. it doesn't necessarily matter, the music's great nonetheless, but it'd be nice to know whether their band name came about as a result of their belief in a certain religion or from their own specific world philosophy
Hi, just wondering which Explosions In The Sky album you found slow as I haven't listened to them all yet. I actually found this GIAA album slow as well, but as you say to each his own. Its interesting as well that GIAA and 65daysofstatic get put in the same bracket...post-rock is very hard to define.
I don't like rap, but don't think that those that do are idiots, and that guys post was obviously way too far. Anyway, we can all agree that this is brilliant :D

Post - rock is one of the best genre of music. These hidden emotions between notes... I'm totally devoted to them.
love how instrumental music stimulates the imagination?
If I'm ever floating through space, completely frozen, I want this to be my anthem.
This song is absolutely haunting
Music the its purest form.
Still blows my mind after years.
Its Soo Chill ! U Go From Whaterever Emotion Ur Feeling To Just Being A Chilled Person Whn U Listen To This Song !
Love the way how this song builds up...
For this reason, my favorite of Giaa
Listening to this in a dark room...Chilling

The only thing more beautiful than the music is the well thought out comments here on this page. It makes me feel good that I am in good company! You all rock!
Goosebumps on a sweaty tropical afternoon... That's the power of music with quality! :)

The emotion in this song is surreal..it's like feeling the world crumble, and be reborn..this band is amazing

My fav song from their discography, absolutely legendary stuff
The 10 most epic minutes of music I've heard in a while.
3 bands that keep me alive, possibly literally. GIAA, TWDY & EITS
This artist is AWESOME!
One of the greatest pieces of post-rock music right here
This is great to listen to in the gym, when you start the set just as the song reaches climax is pure intensity
when you listen to this song, god is an astronaut indeed
I could listen to all these amazing songs on my iTunes, yet watching them on RUclips means I can read the comments / responses from other people. Amazing stuff.

Try Explosions In The Sky,Mogwai,Maybeshewill,Long Distance Calling,Mono,The Slowest Runner In The World,Red Sparrowes, etc.
Art, in ANY way/shape/form, can be beautiful if done right.
Just...so..ambient... AWESOME!
@Springheeledjack1 WOW.....2 years ago....now it makes sense more than it ever has.
Sürüm, Sürüm, Süründürüyor...
When everything dies it's because we were all dying for this.
look at japan right now... the best song for their situation...keep your chin up, japan!
Love this. The music just sweeps you away!
If death sounds like this then it's so beautiful
How right you are!
what is this special part of youtube ,that everyone actually discuss the video content..
El mejor Album de GIAA!
"floating through the oceans of time and space."
What a delightful title
relaxing music
post rock tends to be a generalization of instrumental rock, often bands considered post rock can be further divided into other genres.
"Everything exists to cease" - Nell
i cant feel it anymore :/......what i would give away to feel it once more
going to giaa gig in monday, can't wait. :)
Шикарная мелодия, да ещё и с пасхалкой в конце!)
да ты прав
а че за пасхалка то я чет не понял
What genre is this considered? I'd love to find more music like this, its amazing while writing papers it just gives me such an open mind.
JoRDaNisSoFresh post-rock
Best song ever!
these guys take a shit on all the mainstream music.
I'm writing a paper as i listen as well, it's perfect!
The lack of lyrics gives more space for thinking about what they could be... and what they would mean
in the center of soul
Very well said and I agree!
OMG! You are an Astronaut! 😛
Ambient / Post Rock. If you want something softer, listen to Hammock. If you want something Rock..ier... listen to Sleepmakeswaves
can i just say that i effn love this song!
@Springheeledjack1 That, is a very good quote, by far one of my favorites.
I love you man.
amen to that.
this song gives me feelings
Bu şarkının bas gitarlarını da bir ayrı seviyorum
shit....i'm speechless
hope they will come to Poland one more time...
Graffiti, in my opinion, can be just as beautiful as canvas art if done right.
lyrics:
So deep, man.
I laughed my ass out... man!
It's called Post Rock. Godspeed you! Black emperor, another one to try.
Yes.
OUT OF THE WORLD (y)
man this band is the much better than dream theatre
one of the 1st giaa songs i ever heard

When I listen to this song in my head for some reason I remember the catastrophe in Chernobyl ...
@TheMindHeist
No controversy. I think youve just about hit the nail on the noggin ;)

Fight4nothing Agreed.
Fight4nothing you just made my night!
why does this melody make me feel pain. It breaks me from the inside

@AstronautJ Very very on-point my friend. Exactly how I would've put it.
