It works but I can't control waze or any other apps from the unit touch screen like you did with waze in this video. What would you suggest to get the screen actually be touchable while using waze or other apps. Thank you
Okay. You need the lighting to hdmi cable. The bottom of this cable has a lighting connection, and a hdmi connection. Next you need the hdmi to hdmi. You run it from the cdmi connection on the first phone to the hdmi connection on the back of the HU. Third, per your video you need a lighting cable, to charge the phone. My question is from where to where do you run this lighting cable. Maybe I am missing something. I got the dnx 892 today by the way.
There are 2 USB cables out of the back of the radio. 1 is iPod terminal the other is USB terminal, use the USB terminal. It is only for charging the device while plugged into the HDMI adapter. Thanks

Very helpful. So I had mine installed 2 years ago at a place that's 70 miles away (I live in a new city). I have my USB cable sticking out but I do not see an HDMI cable. Did they not install it you think or am I just looking in the wrong place. ( have a chevy avalanche.
I got it connected. I removed the dash trim (with the help of youtube videos), removed the radio, plugged in an HDMI cable, put everything back and got it reading my iphone with the HDMI and iphone 6 idapter from your video. THANK YOU!!

Don't kill it yet. The reason you can't find one is that it does not exist for video. Video on the new iPhone is only over HDMI, so you need to add an HDMI input to your radio. Check out our video on the iSimple Medialinx, this will solve your headache. Thank you for the question.

I try to use that feature with unpredictable results. I ended buyin a Roku and putting it on the HDMI. Its easier with the simple controller pof the Roku and it has all the Apps, I just share my Phone internet.
Darryl Bishop If you are going to use the Navigation all the time, get the DNX. The navi on your phone will use your data and if you are in dead zone you get no navi = lost. thanks

elena Sal Kenwood has stopped support for this feature in their radios. The app is no longer on the App Store. Check out the DDX6093. It will do Apple CarPlay and is not that crazy of a price
It is an iPhone 5s. Should the apps section always be blanked out? Or is it just because it's not available when the phone is not plugged in? I can't even find app set up in the settings when phone is disconnected.. 😕
Yes reset the radio and for AV don't select iPod. It is not set up for USB audio right now, it is setup to get sound from aux and data from USB. This is a common mistake, thank you Kenwood. Thank you for the question.

Hey guys i have a critical question. I have a excelon dnx892 model, I am wanting to play my ipod videos to the head unit and out of the head unit to the multiple monitors i have installed in the car. I have the lightning hdmi adapter and all that hooked up but it does not allow me to output the video signal to my monitors ? Also when i have the hdmi hooked up and the usb i lose the ability to use the ipod for music through the kenwood ipod app ? this is just becoming a huge headache and I'm hoping for some help on this as i am stunned by the incompatibility of this with nearly every aftermarket head unit ??

When setting up the radio, set it for av1 not iPod. It will allow the sound to play over the USB. Then just plug your iPhone into the USB using for factory Apple cable. If you reset the radio it will star up the setup screen again. Hope this helps, thank you for the question.

hi guys, thanks for the video! I was able to control my Android LG G3 via MHL cable using the unit touch control. I cannot use the touch control for the iPhone 6 i got now. I see you can do it only for WAZE...well, it doesn't work for me at all. This morning i plugged in a Raspberry PI2 via hdmi and the touch doesn't work either. any suggestion? I also have AppRadio and Appradio Live installed, if you wander.

I have a kenwood ddx371 and everytime i plug in my iphone 5 to the usb it shows that its playing music but no music is coming out through the speakers. Can anyone help me fix this problem?
Go to your settings/ input / AV input select iPod not av- in2. This well tell the radio to look for audio over the USB. If you can't find that, reset the radio and it will be on the initial setup screen. It will be the third setting from to " av input" select iPod. Hope this help
no mirroring on this radio from your iPhone. An iPhone needs an HDMI input to screen share, you could add the iSimple MediaLinx to any radio and get that feature. Thanks and enjoy.

The radio does not come with the HDMI cable, it would have been extra. My guess is, it is not there.

Not that we have screen. You can use wifi and a Crome cast, that works great.

Phone has to be plug in to both USB and HDMI and the radio set to proper input mode.
This model doesn't have a hdmi port. Just composite or "rca's".

Most new Android phones have dropped MHL and gone to the wireless MiraCast.

Hi there i got my self a Medialinx cable.Hdmi & Av adaptor lead but it says Device not found which is connected to a Iphone6? Is there anyway round this, ive used different Hdmi cables but still nothing..

I was able to control my Android LG G3 via MHL cable using the unit touch control.
I cannot use the touch control for the iPhone 6 i got now.
I see you can do it only for WAZE...well, it doesn't work for me at all.
This morning i plugged in a Raspberry PI2 via hdmi and the touch doesn't work either.
any suggestion?
I also have AppRadio and Appradio Live installed, if you wander.
Make sure the Waze app is set to control from external screen in the Waze app menu.

I have a kenwood ddx371 and everytime i plug in my iphone 5 to the usb it shows that its playing music but no music is coming out through the speakers. Can anyone help me fix this problem?
Go to your settings/ input / AV input select iPod not av- in2. This well tell the radio to look for audio over the USB. If you can't find that, reset the radio and it will be on the initial setup screen. It will be the third setting from to " av input" select iPod. Hope this help

This is a DDX8901hd, but any Kenwood with a HDMI/ MHL input will work.

no mirroring on this radio from your iPhone. An iPhone needs an HDMI input to screen share, you could add the iSimple MediaLinx to any radio and get that feature. Thanks and enjoy.
