Too many people here who are pros that don’t understand the target audience of this camera. It’s for beginners like me who want to ditch their phone once in a while and up their photo game. It’s a great camera for the price point and its Made in Japan unlike Sony selling a $3K camera thats made in China! People should applaud Canon for trying to get a bigger audience into the camera community since so many people use smartphones these days to take pics.
Okay i mean... a 24 megapixel aps-c sensor, digic 7 processor, dual pixel auto focus... old pro cameras had similar or worse features, it around there in what it can possibly do if you put on fast prime lenses or adapt big old lenses to it, i go with the first option, and i got to say, i'm more than satisfied. Though im not a pro photographer and dont intent to be one, its personal photography.
+Trang Nguyễn .....when filming video you usually want to have your shutter speed at no more than double your frame-rate otherwise motion will look jittery because of no motion blur
- p4tchu - well that is how you roll when you usually use your iPhone to shoot // cause there it is the mobile that makes the magic happen; but here //
bought this camera today. it's my first camera. it's not intimidating and perfect for people who want to have a step up from your regular cellphone cameras.
I got this camera over all the cameras in the market right now. I wanted something compact that could make great photos. I can say that I have chosen it over other ones and I’m so happy with it. Actually I call it my baby girl because it’s all I ever wanted. About 4K, it’s not something that affects me because I’m not into video, all I do is to take photos :) For me it works perfectly! I’m just getting it more lenses to make better photos, I got the kit with the kit lens and the 55-200mm and I’m planning to get the 22mm and in a couple of months the 28mm As I said it works for me, and I love it!
Yes it will. Built-in Wi-Fi with NFC allows for easy wireless sharing of both photos and movies to a linked mobile device. Bluetooth permits linking a smartphone or tablet for quick image sharing between devices as well as remote control capabilities. >Mark
As of the date/time of this reply, the *Canon EOS M100 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 15-45mm Lens (Black),* B&H # CAEM1001545B, is normally $599.00 USD, but there is currently a $150.00 USD Instant Rebate from Canon USA on the camera kit (rebate expires February 2, 2019). As such, at this time, the camera/lens kit is currently $449.00 USD. bhpho.to/2gHlrYV
I guess Canon beat Nikon to the punch with starting "a project like 'a DSLR that's easy for women to use'." It's mirrorless, but still. ...Or at least, I guess what this video is going for...
I don't understand why this camera (or the M10 before this) has to be associated with female users! We know that this is Canon's entry level mirrorless camera and it is simplified to be used also by beginner photographers. So by making all the publicity of this camera with women, Canon is practically saying that this camera is so simple that it can be used even by female users?! Does Canon think that it's potential female clients are dumb? And on the other side, by showing that this camera is pro selfie, with all the colorful accessories etc, Canon doesn't focus on what is most important: the sensor, the processor, the lens lineup and all the other good thing this camera has and by doing so it pushes away potential amateur buyers because they think that this camera is just slightly better than a compact.
Watch the official M100 video from Canon I just don't like the effort to connect M100 only with women - colorful clothes - shopping... This camera is more than that! ruclips.net/video/CGdHcejabVM/видео.html
I like this camera. But it should be very appealing to women because it's small and light to tuck it away in a purse. It's a very capable machine, but very compact and discreet
Autofocus is where this shines and what will cause me to switch from my Sony to a Canon. I’m not ready for $2,000 plus Sony Mirrorless cameras where you finally get better autofocus. If it’s Christmas and I want to get candid shots in dim lighting, I miss them on my Sony all the time. I have a Sony a5000 and I know the a6000 isn’t any better in this scenario. Dual-Pixel AF is phenomenal. Match that with the 22mm f2.0 with an effective 35mm focal length and this is a winner for me. Canon can definitely compete. People pick the tool that’s right for them. For me, I guess that’s a Canon.
@@_justcarlson man you don't know what you're talking about. I have the m50 and I use many time the a6000. The a6000 blow away even the m50 for fast action and autofocus. The m50 is just more user friendly for people coming from smartphone. In the end is up to you... More friendly and touch? Canon. More serius about photography? Sony from a6000 to a9
All those Mr and Mrs professional 😒 like gosh ... please pro len beginner and ordinary have a chance to use camera-.- or for the dam basic shot .... for fun gizzzz......
Not sure who should buy this. This is obviously marketed to the teenage girl selfie generation, but those will just use their smartphone to satisfy their narcism and won't spend 500 bucks on a camera
Because now the point for a camera is to have 4k video?! Maybe for you it's very important, but i'm saying that there are also other things that are OK with this camera i.e: sensor, processor, touch/tilt screen, lens selection etc...
Soumya Majumder I hope you are joking because I am a female and I shoot a DSLR. There are tons of fantastic female photographers that use mirrorless and Slr's!
If this camera was $100, then sure, its existence would make sense, but for that much money and with all the options out there, I don't know who would buy this.
Odd. I find the M5, 80D and most likely this M100 plenty competitive. Now on Full Frame Canon currently is really behind, especially with the new Nikon 850. And Video is really dominated by Panasonic with an overheating Sony coming second. Still usability is good, functions outside of 4k video is there, colors are good and Sony is mainly a spec sheet with a lot of asterix to all those growing pains from their super fast product release cycle. And that Canon lenses are cheaper than Sony ones is really a bad joke, because Canon has a reputation of being overpriced and yet their lenses comparable lenses are usually cheaper than even the Nikon ones. And don't get me wrong, currently Sony, Nikon, Pentax, Panasonic all have great cameras. So its not like I would rate canon over them, it just that I would not underrate canon either, especially their great lense collection.
Traumglanz Agreed... Sony has the longest spec sheet but somehow the ancient touch screen still didn't make it to six A7 and five premium priced RX100 cameras only the a6500 and A9 got some limited functionality one. So yes, if you need bad ergonomics, hectic release cycle and still missing basic functionality get a Sony... I'm glad I didn't jump the ship now I can think about the D850. I see no reason to get any of the Sonys over that one. Having said that the market which the M100 is aimed for I think is quickly disappearing and taken over by smartphones. Canon has some very weird business strategy.
Omg BH you've been in the business so long and carry a ton of other manufacturers equipment. YOU KNOW CANON IS PUTTING OUT CRAP WHY ARE YOU PROMOTING IT??? Dammit we're not dumb we can Google things. You're just insulting our intelligence. Almost any other mirror less camera is better cheaper than this. You're feeding the overpriced Canon junk machine.
Nikon releases the D850 and Canon releases this... You didn't need a professional photographer to talk about creative picture styles and additionally the BS that she doesn't know that many high end smart phones now shoot full manual and DNG-RAW. Is it just me, or does this not seem like it could hurt her professional work being a part of this ad campaign?
Edit: Just checked the Canon EVF-DC1 seems not supported by the M100, so I would recommend strongly to stay away from the M100. Buy the M5 or Olympus M10 Mark II instead, depending on your maximum Budget and lens preferences. :) This is aiming at consumers with no idea about RAW or Manual who just want something better than compact cameras. A classic EVIL camera with APS-C sensor fits the bill rather well, especially at 300g weight. Canon offers an EVF as an upgrade iirc and you can use EF-S and EF lenses with the canon adapter as well (full autofocus, etc). So this is an entry product into the interchangeable lenses canon ecosystem as well, while being a super light travel camera on top. Enthusiast will most likely grab a M5 instead if they need something from canon which is evil or some of the better mirrorless cameras from the competition if they don't have already a canon lense collection. Enthusiast who don't care about weight, will grab an DSLR anyway, either Nikon or Canon, depending on use case and budget, in most cases nikon is currently the better choice, the new Rebels are ok and the 80D is nice too, but overall Nikon has clearly the better sensors and prices. That brand new 850 is especially awesome.
Ugh 😑. I am a Canon shooter. I have not purchased any new gear and I need a new camera but I can't afford something considered a professional camera. However, I think if you know how to get the most out of your gear and you're somewhat knowledgeable about what you're doing then you don't need a $3000 body. Good glass is also key. I'm off track. I am just disheartened by this . I saw nothing, again, that would make me spend my money. I did buy a Sony a6000 but I sent it back because there were a couple things I didn't care for. It's a fantastic camera, just not for me. Come on Canon! Get it together!!! Are you even listening to your loyal consumers????!! This is AWFUL! I would have been embarrassed to put this out!

0:10 Why did the girl on the right look into a viewfinder that is not there!?
Also at 4:39 she is shooting 60fps video in broad daylight with ISO250 and at 1/400...
- p4tchu - Clearly the subject (two ladies) is in shade. For fast action and slow motion in post, 1/400 is the better way to go.

I'm such a beginner to photographing and I hope to get this camera for my birthday ❤ Have a nice day everyone!
It has the 24 meg sensor with digic 7 so the image quality will be awesome. Good deal for 600 bucks.
have you editted these photos? and which lens have you used for these photos?
Luukas02 Lampe they used the lense that comes with the m100
Looking to upgrade my original 5d. This or the m4?
video test?
What's the difference between this and the M10?
I want to ask do you use the same lens that the shop gave ?
Hi Waiki wan,
Erin used the 15-45mm lens meant for this camera in the video.
Thanks for watching!
Did you know that M100 is a metrotrain model in Finland? xD
Considering to buy it...
Great video. Would you recommend this camera for vlogs???
Yes, the Canon EOS M 100 is a great choice for Vlogging. It will give you great quality video and has a very nice flip out screen.
Thanks!

Awesome review. Thank you!
Anyone know if when u connect this to your phone on the app it gets videos on the phone too?

B&H Photo Video okay thank you so I should use wifi not Bluetooth?
0:12, lmao it doesnt even has a viewfinder
Lmao, it doesnt even have grammar.
No thanks, so far i've given a shit about the viewfinder.
Excuse me , can i aks for how much did you buy it , or how much it costs

I love this channel nice I would love to buy canon for my vlog

I prefer my Olympus PEN E-PL7 😁
How much?
go drunk, canon, you are home
Very buce teeth! I forgot to look at the camera :D
I guess Canon beat Nikon to the punch with starting "a project like 'a DSLR that's easy for women to use'." It's mirrorless, but still. ...Or at least, I guess what this video is going for...

Yes, this camera can record videos at 1080p 60fps.

@@BandH Thank you!
I wish i have that one
That's my dream camera but i can't afford it .
☹
"And were gonna shoot with the new cannon " ......
Why more dislikes than likes ?
right now, 66 to 61
Because they speak to girls as if the girls only care about selfies.
and because this camera has nothing over the M5 or the M6 that we care about.

Wow.
Yea..sure thing. I'm gonna put my 70-200 on this.
No 4k? Why bother? My cell has 4k. Please try to compete with the GH5
Compete with the GH5, does the GH5 cost $500 what idiot!
What about videos ???!!!!
The EOS M100 can be used for shooting full HD video. The flip up LCD would make it very useful for those shooting vlogs.
0:10 Fail
M100 - Good Camera !!!
Still waiting for that professional grade mirrorless...
Canon, you got to be kidding. There is no, absolute no reason to get this camera over any of its competitors.
Jeff McQuinn Bro... in camera filters. It's never been done before. You're clearly delusional.
Jeff McQuinn what is it competing with ?
my 70D does that.
why is the video quality so bad on this video??? hum??
Canon can't compete with Sony, So they chose to compete with smart phone cameras.

yes because the average person on the street wants to record and edit 4k video. get real
