I just noticed recently, the strathspey is a modified version of the reel “The King of Meenasillagh” (from the album Another Sky)…I love when you can do that with tunes. Jig to reel, vice versa. Like The Colliers reel, or jig called “Do you want anymore?” Literally the same tune. ConMcGinleys is also called The Widow, right?
What a spectacular duet! Such dedication! My hat's off to these fine gents!!! Thank you for posting this wonderful video-🌄👍☺✌🍀
I like the very last look Dermot throws at Ciaran, like "it was pretty good, Bro". And indeed, it so good !!!
A set straight from Blackwater. James Byrne's Strathspey, Con Mcginley's reel, and The Newfoundland reel

Man, these guys are still sporting mullets in this clip...old but fantastic!
My Irish friends always told me they were five to ten years behind the styles of the rest of the western world. Lol.
Meaning this clip is likely from the mid-90’s, believe it or not. The album with these tunes on it was released during that time.
