  • This video captures my Liverpool to Leeds walk, along the canal towpath, Sunday 20th to Friday 25th of July 2014, a journey that would profoundly change my life.
A walk of 127 plus miles that took 6 days to complete, done in aid of Families Need Fathers. fnf.org.uk
It’s how I met my partner, Jennie, when I hatched the idea for my business and where I thought of the name, 127 Media.
It was hands down the hardest walk I’ve ever done, in the hottest week of the year, with temperatures in the high 20s (centigrade).
The hardest and hottest day was, without question, the walk from Chorley to Burnley, which a friend met me for.
A miscalculation and finishing a bit early the day before, saw me walk 28.3 miles that day and my mate did at least 20 plus with me, which he did whilst recovering from a hernia op!
If it hadn’t been for him that day, I may never have made it, 28 miles in 27-degree heat is nothing short of soul-destroying and I think I may have thrown in the towel and myself in the canal.
The only downside is I don’t think my feet have ever recovered and are now riddled with arthritis but it was worth it, if only for meeting Jen.
I’ve thrown this video together with some of the images and a few short videos I took along the way. I was going to try to do a voice-over for it but didn’t have the time. I may add one again.
    Thanks for watching.
    Gary
