Best purchased I ever made - bought it 1 year ago when it first came out... I also have a DSI-1 splitter and 4 amplifiers. recently put the HD camera at the back. Sounds totally awesome never had a single problem with it. Hands-free is so clear it sounds better than your phone speaker. you can ask Google to call anyone that's available on your phone... Ring Luis!!! and bang it's calling... I prefer to use my really short phone cord when I use google maps, instead of mirroring my phone - I also use an M.2 500gig SSD with case - I think it's a bit big for the system which creates an error when I switch the motor off and back on again - it will continue to play from SSD, but I cannot shift to next song... changing to digital radio then back again to USB fixes the problem and it takes 3 seconds. Would recommend this deck to anyone.
Had to make a video myself about these units and what you don't get told prior to buying one. 1. Not all controls will work for every car using Aerpro steering wheel remote control unit. Some CANBUS cars will not allow the unit to swtich on in ACC mode and you'll have to run a 12v ACC wire from the car's fuse panel, some cars won't get all metadata passed to the car's dash screen (See NP300 STX as an example). And again with STX navara - my time on my dash cluster cannot be changed now as it uses the old factory head unit to control the time. DAB antenna that comes with the unit it useless and makes DAB unusable.
Amen to Kenwood’s rock-solid reliability. The Pioneer I had prior to my DDX9018DABS would periodically hang, reboot, and drop Apple CarPlay connectivity. I can count on one hand the number of CarPlay dropouts on the 9018 - all caused by an iOS hang.
Great video man thanks. Would you know how to factory reset this unit? i have forgotten the password i used when i installed it and i cant get pass the password screen. I've seen videos where it says to click on the eject cd button or the reset button but my unit doesnt have it as it is a dmx8019dabs. Cheers
I had one of these installed four weeks ago and would recommend looking at competitor brands/products. The unit was recommended to me and now I'm really regretting the choice. It does not maintain the wifi connection to my phone. It works fine at the store where it was bought/installed, however not when I get home. I have been back twice and exchanged emails with Kenwood, all to no avail. It also does not mirror an iPhone even though the manual claims it will with the aid of the Mirroring for Kenwood app.
@@andrewford80 the DDX9020DABS. The issue with connectivity was sorted. It doesn’t work in car parks because it needs a gps connection. Nowhere was this disclosed. The mirroring for iPhone does work however it’s very clunky. After two years I’m actually happy overall.
Hey mate wanted to ask you guys a question I've got a 2007 Toyota Aurion Prodigy and was wondering what is the difference between and which is better for this vehicle in terms of unit and a double din kit fit (DDX920WDABS being 6.8 inches wide from what you said in the video of Part 1 or the DDX9020DABS which is 7 inches wide in this video Part 2). Also does the DDX9020DABS fit in a 2007 Toyota Aurion Prodigy? and does it have a double din kit. As both are double Din kit units what do you recommend for this vehicle (if you could provide the kit model) I heard the brand Aerpro is great, if you could assist that would be great. Thanks.

I have ticked the box to auto remove after 10 sec but i don't want to see it at all.. Its in a 2019 Ford Ranger. I'm buying a new unit to put in my VE SSV and if it cant be removed in the new models i will buy another brand this time..
I have been looking to get one, but it appears that these models, an in fact anything that will fit my LC in not available in Europe. Will this cost an arm and a leg to ship?

can you connect your phone internet to the ddx9020dabs so you can play youtube and other radio apps or internet apps with videos/audio directly from the kenwood screen?
Next time you make one of these car radio videos. Please do mention that you can put them in STANDBY mode. We don’t all need to drive around having our ears continually bashed off with noise, while we enjoy all the other great benefits of our new bells and whistles radio that also have other things beside noise production such as navigation, etc. even if you assume we need to.

Tell Kenwood 720p screens in 2020 is a fucking disgrace!!!!! That should never EVER be marketed as HD because it is fucking not. There’s a massive difference in resolution you can see from the steering wheel between 720p and 1080p! At that size they should have upgraded their screen to 1080p for god’s sake! They charge over $1k alone for this unit and for them to not upgrade that in 2020 when they have had all the time in the world is a fucking joke and they should be ashamed at such “backwards progress”!!
It's a shame that there wasn't a proper review done of the DDX9020DABS. It takes about 15 seconds for wireless AA to be available and then you have to manually launch it. Useless review from CarbonCarSystems and useless product from Kenwood.
I have purchased the ddx9019dabs and honestly it was the biggest mistake. What a rip off. The digital radio frequency is absolutely rubbish. Very bad reception for a digital system.

What's the difference between the DDX9019DABS and the DDX9020DABS please? Other than just a newer model
9020 comes with LDAC bluetooth. If you use an android phone that supports it, it has big difference in sound quality.
I still use CDs in the car. Mainly when go out to buy them, I listen to them on the way home.

i have a 2006 hilux and it does fit but dont bother buying any of these if you want the wireless connection feature cause it drops out constantly.

did you have a dedicated bonnet mounted DAB aerial or just use the crappy one that came with the system ?
