I remember her as Ashildr/Me in those episodes of Doctor Who. It really amazed me that she was able to capture the loneliness and bitterness that immortality can cause. Still hate that, despite that immortality, she was able to be duped so easily. It's like Lancel trying to do some power grab behind Tywin... and succeeding.

GOT was vastly overrated and imo that's because GRR is a 'panster' writer (i.e. he doesn't plot story structure, he makes it up as he goes) and as brilliant as people think he is, I think it shows in his books with the amount of loose ends he creates. D&D tried to do the best with what they had but the story is not well written and wasn't even at the start. Even season 1. What's the best thing about it? Ned Stark. Who is routinely killed for shock value in the first season. Each season has a shocking moment like that. Shock value isn't good writing. I'd be surprised if GRR can even save his own series at this point. Maybe.
people used to say that the ending was already written by GRR as a safe agreement in case he died or something and the problem was they had to connect the gap with the endind and screwed at that.
