After several hours of video editing, the top left link on YT appears to me «Upload new piano» instead of «Upload new video». . If anyone told me one year ago that I gonna love Kapustin and, more than that, share his sonata, I’d consider him crazy... Now, after watching the concerto by Debussy, I thought again, «this is the kind of music I will never like! It’s way too feeble and wistful». This means only that some time should pass until my mind develops enough to like this work.
@f1f1f1s Well, if one is got used to early Scriabin and his earth-shattering frenzy, then it's hardly surprising that he won't be able to cope with such affectionate, quite 'light' music ;) It's really the matter of time, I think - if a year ago anyone told me that I was not gonna be at odds with Sorabji and Ives, I would've considered him crazy. I would encourage you to listen to this piece by Ciccolini, too - a wholly different perspective I believe.
not the best version of this piece... this is too fast, forward kind of rushy thing, this is not a virtuoso show of piece, there are others for that purpose. too bad... :(
5:22 blows my mind
my favorite part...
I hear bits of La Mer here in lots of places... love Debussy so much
You're delusional
Dream album pairing I'd like to make:
- Debussy Fantaisie
- Scriabin Concerto
- Ravel G Major Concerto
I think these would go well together
3rd mvt starts at 7:06
sublime !
12:54 ~ 13:07 my favorite parts
...dang Debussy

@f1f1f1s P.S.: Are you going to upload some «new piano» in these days? ;)
There are different versions of this piece?

It's actually played pretty much at tempo. Other versions that I've heard tend to be on the slower side of the tempo markings.
I find other versions too slow.
